I completely agree he really is a hero in a day and age where those that are in charge and those that are there to serve and protect won't even step in to help out their fellow man in such a way
AlphaOmegaSin Its a police officers job to enforce the law. Its a fucked up law, and officers are stuck in the crossfire for doing there job. They're bad cops out their, but if you talked to those officers i doubt they would be gloating about arresting old men feeding the needy.
I feel you man, the world needs more people like that. Our society is turning to shit, and its men like Arnold who give us some glimmer of hope. It's a damn shame, I weep for our kind.
Mike Cruz Have you heard of the tyrannic term "generalization" Every poor person in your city earns $100.00 a day? That's a lie. Every person is different and should not be falsely accused of being frauds just because they are poor. If you say they are around garbage all day, why fuck does it bother you if someone giving giving them some warm food? Do you think poor people love to be both forgotten and tarnished by both the society and you? Oh no!! someone pissed on my front lawn! You think that is a good argument to dehumanise hundreds people you dont know? That is pathetic
AlphaOmegaSin Ironically V for Vendetta was on tv yesterday. Our countries are really messed up right now no one gives a shit about each other anymore. I agree with you man the collars are wrapped to tightly around people these days.
BigGamer2525 no matter what the mentality of the government there will always be more retarded laws passed. Personally I feel those 1980's road warrior apocalypse movies show all of the people there having more respect for people than our government.
The rich decide on what happens and if they don’t like something this is the result. Where as the working class have to struggle and start riots, looking like scum of the Earth to get their voice across to stop this sort of thing.
Michael Mikey Yes really screwed up. Seems in states it's a crime for being homeless. Heard of a story where in Colorado they have a plane ticket and moved them elsewhere for someone else's problem.
I volunteered at the homeless shelter and i felt goddamn good about it. serving them food. I live in California. imagine if there was a law in california just like that in florda, I would be fucking pissed.
The amount of comments on this video that say that homeless people don't deserve anything really fucking sickens me. I'm shocked that people can be so fucking ignorant.
***** ***** MAnnaconduit1 AlphaOmegaSin we are just people who look around, take data, and using statistical reasoning, determine that the majority of the homeless are just lazy people with no drive and no honor.
as someone who has had to sleep on a bench or in a box before, i find this appalling. i am lucky to have been able to pick myself back up, and i realize i am an exception to the norm in that. the "people" who perpetrated this "arrest" should try sleeping in an alley or on a sidewalk for a week or two. i am going to stop now before i start getting pissed.
Glad to hear you got back on your feet, I have friends that have gone through some very rough shit and can relate to this sorta stuff and have seen the shit first hand and know others who have been through it. so all this shit hits me personally and just fucks me up to think we shit on one another for next to no reason :\
AlphaOmegaSin i remember giving 200$ to a homeless guy 10 years ago :).and i will always remember the look of pure joy and gratitude in his eyes :).homeless people are not cancer...they are peoples who need help.they deserve to be happy.
Dustin Noyfba That was a nice story, Dustin. I was PISSED when I read this story. I remember something from a episode of Power Rangers Lost Galaxy titled "The Rescue Mission" where one of the members of Terra Venture/the colony says they should go to a ship to answer a distress call but the higher-ups are on the fence about it. Mike/The crew member who suggested the mission said that their main mission of helping others in times of need shouldn't have to be spelled out & that helping them should be second nature & the day may come when Terra Venture may have to send a distress signal of their own. If you have the time, check episode 18 of Lost Galaxy. The bulk of the episode is an Aliens homage but for a kid's show, it's amazing but that line that Mike says in the episode was just golden.
Against the law to feed random people? So people may as well be arrested for getting Pizza for their kids friends and birthday parties....your feeding random people!!!! OMG. Seriously giving food to a homeless guy is a choice, it effects nobody but the 2 people how on earth is that an issue?
ive actually been homeless and some ppl can't get jobs or even certain benefits since u need a permanent address, governments hate not knowing where u live
When I was homeless last winter I remember the address thing too. I got so tired of being told that I HAD TO have an address that any time I filled out paperwork I would just put down a fake address for my living address and a relatives address for the mailing address.
joshua1911 Are you asking why she doesn't use her gender to get what she wants from men? Well maybe because she has some fucking dignity, maybe she is a decent human being, ever think of that you fedora-tipping loser?
I was in Fort Lauderdale 2 months ago. I walked out of Peter Pan's Diner. Poor man who has diabetes, fell on the concrete and only my grandmother, a stranger and myself helped him up. I couldn't get him off my mind. How can any of us allow people to suffer? Over some green paper and a government? Poor man had cuts all over his leg.
There's been a lot of videos online where people did tests showcasing how people would react to a homeless person being hurt and asking for help and people avoided them. Then took the same person and dressed em up nice and clean cut and everyone rushed over to them before they even hit the ground let alone asked for help
AlphaOmegaSin My dad told me my ideals are pointless and that I don't work over 40 hours a week. I want nothing to do with college or being a part of the problem. Why be happy I have a job, when others don't? Why be happy I'm working for the sake of doing things? Arnold did the right thing. I drive in traffic to file paper work and get a low wage. I would rather do work that fixed the problem, and not get paid. I despise money, year by year. My parents are workaholics and just blow their money on flashy things. I was like that... Now I am realizing how wrong I was a teenager, how selfish I was. Instead of complaining that we're lucky to be employed.. How about we get people on a stable life.
Good on you for helping him. When I was around 6 an old man behind e, my mother and grandmother fell down. No one else helped, just walked past ignoring so we decided to help him and call him an ambulance. Found out he was having a heart attack. Way to go public!
MALayhee700 I understand this is kind of late, but the way how people can be the happiest fuckers in the world, is to live happy life, and donate to charity and help people off the street. Collage is more expensive than I thought, yet I still help all the people I see on my way to places.
I disagree. They should be encouraged to be changed. Laws are in place for a reason. Are they always right? No. That's where the people have to step in and do something about it.
Eden Piotrowski "laws are in place for a reason" Yes and in this case immoral reasons. What if a law harmed you or your family? Sometimes "changing it" is as easy as you want it ti be.
Eden Piotrowski I disagree with that. There comes a point where the only way to truely protest a law is to break it en mass so there's no way they could jail every offender.
I hate that whole "Get a job, you 'deserve' to be homeless" BS mentality. Some people have no clue how uphill a battle it is to go from homeless to getting back on track, and the problem is some people never had a real uphill battle for a day in their lives so can't appreciate it. I work my behind off for 32-40 hours a week, have a degree and am currently trying my damndest to apply to jobs left and right for months and having trouble, as well as many people in this current economy. Can you imagine doing the same thing with nothing to even make you look presentable or to get you from point A to point B?
***** Most companies look for one thing in an individual: Persistence. I have learned this the hard way from all my friends in the community. They all say one thing: GIVE A PITCH like a salesman. What these companies love is MONEY and TIME saving. So you gotta pitch to them what your experience has done to make companies feel better. That's it. They DO want to people about personality and whatever you want to say, but the key factor is...money and time and resources. You don't have to state figures necessarily, just that you realise these factors.
You know what pisses me off? It's often people going through the sames things you mentioned that are the ones that are being the most critical of the homeless and less fortunate. You'd think they'd understand more than anyone that sometimes shit sucks and even if you work hard (If you're even capable of that and not crippled mentally or physically.) things just don't work out and he need help from your fellow human beings.
"and the problem is some people never had a real uphill battle for a day in their lives so can't appreciate it.". Really? So they work nine to five at a meaningless job to feed themselves and their families and pay the bills and somehow they are a problem because they were never homeless or have never ever slacked off to bring themselves to that?!¨ Yea, help the homeless people. But don't spit on the people who choose to avoid homelessness at all costs.
I just read the article. It's mind-blowing that humans can toss other humans aside like yesterday's trash like that. I just don't know what to say, man.
This is one reason some countries look down at America😕 He's an elderly man, he's not even obligated to give to society. Yet he does and gets arrested. That's fucked up. How can it be illegal to help people?
I'm 26 year old Slovenian and If I was to be a cop that was being pulled into this same situation, In my spare time, I would have looked for another job. How can anybody work this way without feeling any sort of hurt in the stomach? From what I'm hearing and from what I'm seeing, the whole system-right is upside down. It's always been that way. More power to the people with power and judgment to the poor because they sadly can't afford to buy power. To corrupt everything thats good and heavy judge anybody thats remotely decent of a human being. For him to start to re-think his past actions and even corrupt his own-self. A strong minded person will refuse such change, but some will sadly fall into this category. If supporting like this is consider a crime. Then what in the world is donating on large scale considered? Reading the title, honestly, looking at all the news that hits us in our every day life, I'm really not surprised. Arresting people that land nothing but a kind helping hand. The word "sick" doesn't give it justice when trying to comprehend how sickening this whole situation really is. Whats next!? Arresting people that give a homeless person some money so he can buy himself a meal, oh wait, that's basically what happened. Unbelievable, I hope that cop is proud going home to his wife and kids explaining how he had to arrest a 90 year old person who was filled with nothing but human kindness which is rare to begin with. Oh dad thats awesome -_- I'm sorry kids, but if this didn't give your dad re-thinking, then your dad is a lame excuse for a human being. Yes, he has to provide first, but further priorities need to be established. Starting with him finding a more decent job and hopefully less corrupt than the previous one but thats probably too much to ask. Arnold Abbott as a fellow human being is a rare sight.
Shit the world needs a lot more people like Arnold Abbott in it as well. Willing to actually go toe to toe with the government in court multiple times and continue doing what he knows is right regardless
AlphaOmegaSin this government doesn't understand what it's like to be poor. my dad grew up on the streets of boston. he would beg for money for him and his mom and brother, and one time he started begging on the corner on the streets at mcdonalds and this big dude with this long beard comes in and punches him in the stomach as hard as he could, and my dad was 8 and you know what my grandmother said to him, "sorry honey but you were begging in his spot" and cops don't give a shit about this and neither does the government
No matter how many times I see this, I still don't understand people who attempt to stop or harm those who intend to help those most in need. It blows my fucking mind.
Here’s something else that would probably piss you off. The US could solve world hunger for the price of one week of its military spending. One. single. week.
Omegeddon You're right on that as well and for the military spending on. My guess the higher ups really can't stop because of threats of parts like North Korea or the commie threat.
I nearly cried listening to your rant! Tell it how it is! This is one of your best videos. THIS is why I subbed to your channel! This video hits pretty close to home, because I'm not wealthy or well off. I'm just a regular guy with a regular job. If I lose my job then I'm fucked. I'm at the bottom of society! Might as well say that I live in poverty, but it's still better than what homeless people have. I love you alpha and your positive messages that you put out on your channel. Keep it up!
I gave all the MREs I had on me on my way from my Guard unit this past Sunday to a homeless woman in Philadelphia. It breaks my heart to see so many homeless and not having that much money nor the resources to help more than one a day.
Yes it is and not the only messed up thing against homeless just look up anti-homeless laws saying it's a crime being homeless and also hostile design where it makes being homeless really a pain anyway Google and RUclips all about that and makes this incident a tip of the iceberg.
Bro, just found your channel a few days ago. I wish I would have found it years ago. came for the video games. but your views on life in general are on point 100%. thanks for doing what you do.
"Get a job, ya bum!" What about people who are homeless because of a mental ilness. or because they are cripples and cant get a job because of that? Every time I hear about something like this, the first thought that crosses my mind, apart from a raging disgust, is "I think Carlin already has covered this before...'' - in this case the "Not In My Backyard" policy.
I am like one incident away from being homeless. I am taken care of by my boyfriend and if I did not have him I would be living on the street and I have been looking for a job for over a year and have not been able to get one. I never thought I would see the day where I could be a college graduate and I can't even bag groceries just to have food to eat. People say to me all the time that if I just look for a job I will find one and that is bull shit. Sometimes there is just nothing you can do to make what you want happen. But you just have to keep trying. I feel like if our government did help out those in need more it would help everyone in the end. Right now food stamps are even being taken away from those in need such as myself. Food stamps are the only way I have been able to eat the last few years and now they are making it a policy that if you don't work or if you don't do at least 20 hours of community service a week then you don't get them. By taking things away from people you just put more stress on them and make people worry where their next meal is going to come from and it's like if every city/town just took the time to help those in need people would be a lot less stressed and therefore might be able to accomplish something in their lives but no. They just got to take away and take away like people who are already in need are going to "learn a lesson" or something about not being able to support themselves. Then there are those who are like "Well there are ways that you can get help" but when there are literally thousands of people who are in need of that same help you as an individual are placed pretty far down on the list. So I don't know I can just only hope that maybe one day we will all get our shit together and actually start making the world better instead of worse and worse and worse.
Alpha, thank you for being such an amazing person! I try my best to donate to animal and homeless shelters everyday and no one hardly cares about these beautiful animals /people with spirits who need as much help as possible! I am sick & tired of these stupid governments, most of humanity and just the overall madness of it all! People hearts are just becoming more apathetic and careless by the second and THAT scares me.....
Not tryin to sound gay, but I love you man. Started bringing a tear to my eye around 3:00. I come from a poor background, have had a hard time finding work and battle depression on a near daily basis, but luckily I've avoided being homeless, but I've known friends and acquaintances that haven't been so fortunate and have had to panhandle, busk or do something to survive and your caring really TRULY moves me brother. Good for you man not being one of these society sheeps that looks the other way!
The other day on the way out of Walmart I saw a homeless woman with a child and so I took them back inside and bought them some food, unfortunately I only had like $20 left, but still and anything change I had left I gave, even though it was like $3 I know it means something to them. There names were Mary and Lucas and I see them every week. They tell me stories about what people do to them, a 11 year old child. I see that there trying and that's why I keep trying too...❤️
I know this guy named Diamond and he's been homeless for years now and let me tell you he is one of the most awesome people I've ever met. This just makes me rage!
Funny thing is, homeless people tend to be very successful people in the past who lost everything for multiple reasons. Sometimes psychological. People shouldn't judge, they should help.
Dude! Thank you so much for going out of your way to give this particular circumstance attention! I'm not from the US, but I do have an idea of how your media works! So let me guess there was next to no coverage for this story! A 90 year old shining example of human kind gets arrested for this! You know why this pisses me off so much? It is that I know for a fact that If this were to be a racist crime of some sort you wouldn't hear the end of it for at least half a year! This is just shameful!
Thanks for telling us about this. Stuff like that is happening everywhere, also here in Europe. The important thing is that we should not look away when something like that happens. And the good thing is that there are still heroes out there like Mr. Abbott.
+AlphaOmegaSin humans are indeed, some of us are a bit brighter on the mental spectrum but we are a minority, i love you alpha for this kind of thing...you may be all metal and shit and be a true gamer but your also a DAMN good human being, youve got your morals in the right place, your head on your shoulders, and you speak out when other people are content to remain silent in the face of such terrible things...and i have crazy respect for you for that!
***** its also not the first time bullshit like this has happened we live in a very fucked up world currently where the innocent and helpful get punished and the criminals often go free
I remember when a cop in NYC (i think it was there) gave a homeless guy some clothes and food and the next day the homeless got rid of it because he said he'll be killed over it. I feel sorry for the guy because if he does have clothes and food and he'll probably be stabbed and if he gets nothing he'll starve to death.
Why do 4 people (pieces of shit) disliked this video? It is really sad to see how humans treat there next men. Humans are capable of having so many emotions to thereselfs unlike other species on this planet. But yet every day it seems like we forget about that more and more and becoming insensitive. That really makes me sad to see and to think about how cruel the future will be. ive allways had the mentality of helping people i know personaly and even strangers. And I will not change that no matter how fucked up this world next to me is becoming and going downhill even more.
***** I guess your right about that sir but it just blows my mind how human beings can think like that. Its cruel, its heartless and just makes the world as a whole look worse. But im glad that its still the small minority. Greetings amigo
this is what happens when you have sociopaths for lawmakers and politicians. Then when people who truly (seem to) care go in and get choked by (the thorns known as) their sociopathic counterparts. (just a guess of how it works) You know what this case is like? It's like getting picked on and fucked with by one bully. You stand up to the bully and you get in trouble for being disruptive...then you get told by a teacher or principal that "it's not your job to deal with them", and to "go tell an adult if it happens again..." meanwhile they sit on their ass and let it happen or do very little to deter the bully's behavior. I saw the video. "We enforce the law in Ft Lauderdale." (walks off and starts ranting to self. comes back.) Yeah, no shit, Sherlock! Fuck outta here with that bullshit! Back to my first point. Sociopathic authority figures. Shit like this really irks me. These same types of people become managers at Wal*Mart and D-Day good employees for making common-sense decisions on their own (which actually help) and say "Policy says you're not supposed to do that." (Been there. Done that.)
This kind of story pisses me off to no end. I'll admit, I used to be one of those people who judged homeless people as drunks until I met my girlfriend of 3 years now. When I met her she was on the verge of being homeless as her father was hospitalized permanently and she had no way to pay the bills. I let her stay with me and she opened my eyes that homeless people come in all shapes and sizes. Since then whenever I head to school, work, or out with her I will give whatever spare change I have to the homeless as they all have different stories.
I caught a glimpse of an article about this earlier, but hearing the details it makes me really sad to know how people would just push homeless people aside. I feel really bad for the people there. The people who are willing to help are heros in my book...
I've wanted to give to homeless people, but my family is having money problems, and im just a kid, so i cant do much even if i wanted to. I want to do so much, but I just cant.
Back when I was in school I used to be in an after school program where we would dedicate ourselves to feed homeless people. We would go to a church that was near the school and have a big field day once a week where we gave them a nice big meal, and it felt good knowing that I was doing something to help someone. Of course I can't do it anymore because of time constraints, but it still felt damn good knowing that I was helping someone in need. It's bullshit that someone can legitimately get arrested for extending a helping hand, and I can not fathom how shameless and greedy someone has to be to write a law that hinders you from helping your fellow man.
Why in the world are police even around today? They do not uphold the law like they're supposed to. Honestly, we'd be better off without them, specifically, just the regular police we see all the time, others like S.W.A.T teams, can stay around, at least they don't shoot first & ask questions later. Like for example, some sore loser CoD player called the S.W.A.T team on another player, the S.W.A.T found that player, but they didn't shoot, and found out if was a false alarm. I'm dead serious, that actually happened. This is ridiculous, if they're not being racist & shooting black people for no reason, they're arresting people for doing *good* things. This isn't the first time crap like that happened. The 90 year old man is lucky to be alive, if he was black, the cops would've killed him, just like they killed Eric Garner a few months back, for breaking up a damn fight. Its like we literally cannot do a damn thing at this point, without the cops showing up & either shooting us first, or arresting us for no reason. Its only a matter of time until a huge riot happens. There's only so much crap people can take, especially from these power-abusing, trigger happy, cops, until they had enough.
Darth Rhevar Try being the guy who's parents work corrections and were part of the various search parties looking for Eric Frein.... It pisses me off. Especially when the guy killed and the one injured were good friends of mine that I graduated with...
Toonses I am happy to watch one ad for a video, especially when compared to TV ads which get tonnes for one little program. So I don't feel that bad watching like one ad. And even then some may have mid intervals if longer. But it's still only one ad in that commercial time block. So it's not a big deal.
Watching stuff like this makes me feel happy that I live in Canada. We are certainly not perfect by any means but the fact that Florida has that kind of a law, disgusts me. I can't even believe that this man would go to jail for this and I hope he wins versus the city. (Also, are there actually places that people are allowed to place spikes to stop homeless people from sitting? That's terrifying!)
DeBOMBs88 ...You do realize that countries do in fact spend money to fund wars, right? Please tell me you know this. And no, I doubt a person would get arrested for owning security cameras in their own home, and I'm pretty sure the thief would be arrested. But this recent event with a man being convicted of the crime of trying to help people... makes me very wary of the future of law and civilization.
As much as i really despise this news, I mean I HATE this so-called justice system, but i get paranoid when trying to be kind to the homeless now, don't get more wrong I feel sorry for them, heck i want to give them more than money, i wish to feed them myself. But the other day I was walking in town i saw a guy handing out a tray of McDonalds happy meal to a homeless man, and what does he do? The homeless man snaps and chucks the food on the floor saying that he only wants money, and get's so mad that he chucks the food back at the person who was trying to help him. I want to homeless to be happy and get a good life again, but I don't like it when you try to help them out and in return are ungrateful. It could have been a faker trying to get money or something, but i don't like it when people are ungrateful, even when there lives are in danger or are in deep shit right now. I wish the homeless to be supported and helped in the future and i give luck to those who will help the homeless.
When the hell did the Ugly Law become a thing again? Yes. That is the actual name of the law. Remind me not to visit Florida. I don't want to be arrested for being stuck in a wheelchair.
i was there at one point..homeless had no where to go no way of surviving ..Kind members of the town I was in helped me get on my feet..and this..knowing that the cop arrested a man for helping people..makes me sick
You've got some great stuff to say, man! That old man should be commended for his courage. Society is what's holding the golden humanity down. Dammit, why are people so disgusting. It's not the money in their hands, it's the hands the money is in.
Its fucked. We're in 2014, times have changed a lot, its ridiculous how cold hearted humans can be in todays society. I don't get how these law enforcement officers have vacant, blank faces and not think 'What the fuck am I doing? He's only doing what he wants and standing by his beliefs.' I have no more words.. :/ I dread to see what the next 20 years will be like in our society with laws etc...
6 words: batman the animated series the Forgotten. Had a fat guy kidnap homeless people for slave labor and batman was the only one who cared. Life imitating art I must say
I am conflicted about this, I work for the local council in the UK and have contact with alot of the so called homeless and to be honest I'd say the good majority aren't really homeless they're what we call "professional beggers" they beg and can make £300-400 aweek with relative ease.
The council are the biggest "professional beggers" in the country. I'd rather give a couple of quid to a homeless guy to get a coffee and a sandwich than pay for bullshit like t.v license and council tax.
G'day AlphaOmegaSin, I agree with every word you said, Abbot should be given a medal when was it a criminal act to display kindness and generosity to those worse off, these homeless people could easily have been you and me. I know of that law, I was in Fort Lauderdale last year on holiday, and my heart just sank seeing this homeless man, cold, and shivering from winter I knew it was against their so called law but I thought to myself, fuck it i'm doing whats right. So, I went into a small business that sold hot chocolate, I paid for it and not only did I give that man a nice hot drink I gave him the change. If the government wants to arrest me, too bad, so sad I'm outside their jurisdiction I'm not even in the United States as such they cannot touch for doing what I truly believe was the right thing to do good on ya mate for bringing up this topic and speaking so passionately for those who cannot defend themselves, an internet hero through and through you are mate.
Me and my m8 gave a homeless person some money and we felt happy for ourselves for helping this person as we was a poet and read them out to us and it was amazing every time we see him we give him whatever change we have and he always appreciates it
I would agree that it's horrible that he's being arrested for this, but not all homeless people need or want help. You may be surprised, but some people choose to live like that. You can't help someone who don't want it. Also There's a huge racket here where I live where people make a living by panhandling. I've heard some of them bragging about some of the money they got. (At that time, I knew a panhandler that was making more than I was and I had a 9 to 5 job) How would you feel if you were giving money to someone that's making more than you? There was even a news story on it where one panhandler was caught driving away from his begging spot in a BMW. Things like that makes people less likely to give. There's nothing wrong with helping people. Just be careful who you choose to help. Giving to charities and churches helps reduce the chances of people who aren't in need of help and taken away from those who do need it. I personally give to my church since they go out and help people who needs it.
Knight41b Yeah for some reason it didn't save the info for some reason when I updated. did it again and it's showing. Thanks for the heads up though, I wouldn't have even known otherwise
AlphaOmegaSin Hey Alpha I came across your Channel a few years ago, looking for FF7 Rants I started to follow your channel further, then found that you make Great content, and you're Honest, you touch base on things everyone else is too afraid to. I love how you whould rather be universally hated across the baord rather than be just another moron who's full of shit, I love how you cover storys such as the Kid that raced his Dad's Ghost car, the Kid with his Brother's Skyrim & how the Skyrim modding community gave him that Shrine, I sadly JUST came across this video & I think it's rather fucked that THAT'S A LAW?!?! That's retarded as fuck they threw the man in jail too! I'm gonna go watch another Rant of your's Now lol
I hate this world. Maybe about a week ago my brother made a comment about how he likes to avoid following the news. It is easier to be happy when you don't know the horrors of the world around us. Maybe he is right. But at the same time, I like to be aware. I don't like to be ignorant. But dammit. I have heard a lot of horrible stories over the years... But this one... I was literally holding back tears when hearing about it. That was a great speech. And you are absolutely right.
Not to be a pessimist, but this reminds me of how the original Russian dictators viewed Religion and good deeds after the Russian Revolution. If the U.S. ever becomes what Russia did then, we will have lost sight of what the Founding Fathers built this country to be.
I have no idea what you're talking about in regards to Russia, nor do I care, but it sounds like you're confused. If you're implying the US was "built" on religion, you're entirely wrong. It's always been secular. Many of the founders were deists and only believed in A god not a Christian one or anything of that sort, so they weren't building the country on the nonscience people made up.
Tessa Bain I believe you misunderstood what I was saying. In Russia, the dictators only allowed Religion where they saw fit for it to be and they used the teachings of it to bolster their own power and keep the people in check. I was merely saying that this seems to be what the government here is doing; using Religion as a way of keeping the social peace, while not fully allowing people to believe as they want to, such as is our freedom as Americans, "The Freedom of Religion".
I wish I could shake your hand for the things you said in this video. The subject matter here is just sad, and should never happen. Thank goodness for people this this man in Florida. Thanks for the video.
I helped the homeless a few times myself and it feels really good helping others in need that are struggling in life, whether they need money, food,or a place to stay like a hotel to relax in and shower, I did it all, I took some money out of my account and gave the homeless a few hundred dollars, they were so happy and blessed me every time they see me, don't be ashamed to do right thing just because others aren't doing it?
A church here got a fine for giving bags of food to families and elderly. In under an hour they had the $350 fine paid by members gathering change from the volunteers and regular visitors. They even had people offer to help with fines if it ever gets hit against them again. Finally earlier this year they got sponsors helped them get a permit to give out food to people in need. WHY are these even laws?? Why do you need the same permit as a food stand if you're giving out canned foods to poor people or the elderly and disabled?
I was at a convenience store the other day and a homeless man up came to me and me money for food. I gave him $50 because I knew if I were in his shoe, that would be me begging for survival too. Then afterwards this happens, the clerk of the convenience store came out shouting to the homeless man to go away. What heartless disrespectful person that convenient store clerk is, it sad to see this in society nowadays. I applaud Abbott's for his good deeds and strong dedication to helping the poor.
I made an essay 3 years ago to a US senator to provide food for the homeless, and now this happens. Wow just wow, I could of go to prison just for this as well.
There was a similar situation here in Poland, except the hero wasn't arrested. The owner of a small-ish bakery wanted to help the homeless by preparing bread for them and giving it away. Our government heard about it and wanted him to pay for all the bread he baked. What times are we living in... Even a simple gesture can be looked at through the prism of law.
That old man is practically a saint for what he is doing, helping those in need. I'm not in America and i see very few homeless but i would give them money if it helps keep them one more day on earth. Alpha, you and that old man are the salt of the earth. You say that you have lost faith in humanity but you are the most human of all. I hope that old man wins and gets that law revoked as well as going back to help more people in need. Why do the good always get punished yet evil walks around and is passed as normal? I honestly don't know anymore.
I was at a burger place a couple of weeks ago awaiting my order until I see a commercial on tv about saving the abandoned starving animals, and they literally go out of there way to make you feel empathetic about a bunch of four legged beasts too. The way they blow up those pictures so you can see these big googly squinting eyes while showing a bunch of cats and dogs in the worst abandoned condition possible before adding. " And with a small donation of 20$, you can give these animals the home and proper care they deserve." So I was there shaking my head and wondering, how many of these commercials do you think they do for actual homeless people?
I'm glad my parents have taught me to help others if I'm able to. I really like your videos, Alpha. I always share them with people I know and it can make them do a 180. Keep it up~
Just watched the news clip and I was glad to see the reporter at the end looked kind of upset. Good to see some decent people in that profession considering how many are douchey. That mayor guy, Jack Syer or whatever needs someone to pop him in the face and throw him in a dumpster. What a fuckin piece of shit. Aw wait, that's an insult to feces. Good for Abbot for standing up to them and doing what's right and it cheered me up to hear those few people telling the coppers,"you should be ashamed of yourselves". Glad to see there's still some of us good ones left like you Alpha. One of the best things we can do is pass on our compassion and love on to our children. I know you'll do that with your son too and that gives us a chance to change things. The more of us there are, the harder it will be for them to keep things this way. Speak out about this stuff everyone. I'm posting this as much as I can.
Heartless bastards sees him feeding homeless people like him feeding pigeons. oh, it attracts vermin to our neighborhood.
Makes you sick this world.
Fancy seeing you here Guru. XD
Larry Bundy Jr see they don't give a fuck about you.. But I do
I could not agree more! big fan by the way.
As far as I'm concerned Abbott's a damned hero in my book.
I can't even articulate how fucked this is.
It's a damn shame, I weep for our kind.
its hypocrisy at its finest. they want you to be kind to others but frown upon you and punish you if you help them
Mike Cruz Have you heard of the tyrannic term "generalization" Every poor person in your city earns $100.00 a day? That's a lie. Every person is different and should not be falsely accused of being frauds just because they are poor.
If you say they are around garbage all day, why fuck does it bother you if someone giving giving them some warm food? Do you think poor people love to be both forgotten and tarnished by both the society and you? Oh no!! someone pissed on my front lawn! You think that is a good argument to dehumanise hundreds people you dont know? That is pathetic
People shouldn't be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people
Should be but it seems those collars have stripped much of the blood flow to the brain over the years
AlphaOmegaSin Ironically V for Vendetta was on tv yesterday. Our countries are really messed up right now no one gives a shit about each other anymore.
I agree with you man the collars are wrapped to tightly around people these days.
I disagree - the government fearing the people will only mean more bullshit laws.
BigGamer2525 How. They should be our bitch. They should be scared to do something we dont want.
BigGamer2525 no matter what the mentality of the government there will always be more retarded laws passed. Personally I feel those 1980's road warrior apocalypse movies show all of the people there having more respect for people than our government.
Arrested for doing a good deed? This is just messed up. What a screwed up world we live in..
***** Mmm-hmm
***** This Is A Prime Example Of Pure Stupidity At It's Finest
Michael Mikey love your picture
The rich decide on what happens and if they don’t like something this is the result. Where as the working class have to struggle and start riots, looking like scum of the Earth to get their voice across to stop this sort of thing.
Michael Mikey Yes really screwed up. Seems in states it's a crime for being homeless. Heard of a story where in Colorado they have a plane ticket and moved them elsewhere for someone else's problem.
If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so.
- Thomas Jefferson
Dragon Marshall I will shove this in a cop's face if I get arrested for a stupid reason.
this is a violation of the first amendment.
When Tyranny becomes Law, Rebellion becomes Duty.
This is really relevant now
For every 1 Good Samaritan, there are at least 2 law makers against him. This fucking country.....
Worse yet there are countless people that stay quiet too, never ever remain mute when terrible shit like this comes to light I say
AlphaOmegaSin I gave wendys home less people in NYC and I didn't get arrested and yet this guy in Florida does
I volunteered at the homeless shelter and i felt goddamn good about it. serving them food. I live in California. imagine if there was a law in california just like that in florda, I would be fucking pissed.
The amount of comments on this video that say that homeless people don't deserve anything really fucking sickens me. I'm shocked that people can be so fucking ignorant.
*****
Yeah, maybe you're right.
In that case I will stop reading the comments of this video now.
Bozo Clown
if so that is even more pathetic and sad--but not surprisingly for humanity
Bozo Clown
Oh i definitely agree, but the faults of america are the same of humanity.
***** ***** MAnnaconduit1 AlphaOmegaSin
we are just people who look around, take data, and using statistical reasoning, determine that the majority of the homeless are just lazy people with no drive and no honor.
I'm not shocked at all.
as someone who has had to sleep on a bench or in a box before, i find this appalling. i am lucky to have been able to pick myself back up, and i realize i am an exception to the norm in that. the "people" who perpetrated this "arrest" should try sleeping in an alley or on a sidewalk for a week or two. i am going to stop now before i start getting pissed.
Glad to hear you got back on your feet, I have friends that have gone through some very rough shit and can relate to this sorta stuff and have seen the shit first hand and know others who have been through it. so all this shit hits me personally and just fucks me up to think we shit on one another for next to no reason :\
AlphaOmegaSin
thank you. i mean that.
AlphaOmegaSin i remember giving 200$ to a homeless guy 10 years ago :).and i will always remember the look of pure joy and gratitude in his eyes :).homeless people are not cancer...they are peoples who need help.they deserve to be happy.
Dustin Noyfba
That was a nice story, Dustin.
Are you serious? Oh lets get the bad person help others. Heaven forbid. Wow
Against the law to feed random people? So people may as well be arrested for getting Pizza for their kids friends and birthday parties....your feeding random people!!!! OMG. Seriously giving food to a homeless guy is a choice, it effects nobody but the 2 people how on earth is that an issue?
Yeah it really is F-bombed beyond belief.
ive actually been homeless and some ppl can't get jobs or even certain benefits since u need a permanent address, governments hate not knowing where u live
lol im not a woman thats a just picture haha
and when i was homeless there was a few women that were homeless oh and i live in the UK not USA
joshua1911 It called not being a gold digger, and actually having some dignity.
SeekerOfTheEternal Being on the streets, begging for whatever people might give them, is even less dignifying.
This is starting to get ridiculous, can we no longer be nice in society anymore?
Society never been nice to be fair.
Apparently it's against the law
AlphaOmegaSin What happened to Human Rights man, this bill to not feed the homeless contradicts the Human Rights act by a long shot.
AlphaOmegaSin i think i just threw up in my mouth a bit
Immoral laws should be encouraged to be broken
I understand that, but people can't break laws and expect to get away with it, even if it's for a noble reason.
Eden Piotrowski
I disagree with that. There comes a point where the only way to truely protest a law is to break it en mass so there's no way they could jail every offender.
WhiteTakumi Do you believe we're at that point? I suppose it's up to the people of Fort Lauderdale to decide which path to take...
I swear, laws are getting dumber and dumber...
Why this law even exists is beyond me.
Victimless Crimes shouldn't eveb exist in the first place
Humanity is the most vicious, selfish, and most brutal species on this Earth.
Indeed
I Think I've Lost Faith In Humanity After This
Been worse where and from whom all this started
Shit Like This Makes Undertaker Want To Go On A Mass Killing Spree
No, it's not. Believe it or not.
***** Good luck to you man.
Every store in my state is hiring but no one wants to work cause our government pays them more to sit there
You know what pisses me off? It's often people going through the sames things you mentioned that are the ones that are being the most critical of the homeless and less fortunate. You'd think they'd understand more than anyone that sometimes shit sucks and even if you work hard (If you're even capable of that and not crippled mentally or physically.) things just don't work out and he need help from your fellow human beings.
"and the problem is some people never had a real uphill battle for a day in their lives so can't appreciate it.". Really? So they work nine to five at a meaningless job to feed themselves and their families and pay the bills and somehow they are a problem because they were never homeless or have never ever slacked off to bring themselves to that?!¨
Yea, help the homeless people. But don't spit on the people who choose to avoid homelessness at all costs.
Who the hell arrests a person for helping a fellow human being honestly what the fuck are people thinking nowadays
Stupid fucking law and arresting a 90 year old man is just disgraceful. Shame.
morris89swe arresting a 90 year old man is something in itself
What a cool dude. The world seriously needs more people like you.
Shit the world needs a lot more people like Arnold Abbott in it as well. Willing to actually go toe to toe with the government in court multiple times and continue doing what he knows is right regardless
AlphaOmegaSin
this government doesn't understand what it's like to be poor. my dad grew up on the streets of boston. he would beg for money for him and his mom and brother, and one time he started begging on the corner on the streets at mcdonalds and this big dude with this long beard comes in and punches him in the stomach as hard as he could, and my dad was 8 and you know what my grandmother said to him, "sorry honey but you were begging in his spot" and cops don't give a shit about this and neither does the government
No matter how many times I see this, I still don't understand people who attempt to stop or harm those who intend to help those most in need. It blows my fucking mind.
Here’s something else that would probably piss you off. The US could solve world hunger for the price of one week of its military spending. One. single. week.
Did u know world wide obesity is more common that famine?
Really? Interesting. Thanks for sharing
darkblood626 WORLD hunger? haly shiet
That is so messed up. I hope he ends up being ok and doesn't give up his heart and courage because of this.
Wow That Is Really Messed Up!
Yes it is and not the only messed up thing against homeless just look up anti-homeless laws saying it's a crime being homeless and also hostile design where it makes being homeless really a pain anyway Google and RUclips all about that and makes this incident a tip of the iceberg.
What kind of person could pass this law? Who would elect that kind of person?
Stupidity
Stupidity At It's Best Ha
Bro, just found your channel a few days ago. I wish I would have found it years ago. came for the video games. but your views on life in general are on point 100%. thanks for doing what you do.
"Get a job, ya bum!"
What about people who are homeless because of a mental ilness. or because they are cripples and cant get a job because of that?
Every time I hear about something like this, the first thought that crosses my mind, apart from a raging disgust, is "I think Carlin already has covered this before...'' - in this case the "Not In My Backyard" policy.
You are a shining example of what a person should be. Like, literally one of the sweetest and most considerate people I can think of.
I know this is old news but I'm proud of helping people less fortunate than me because I was thier once
You're a good man Alpha, glad you brought this to our attention 👍🏼
I had the same problem try starting a cleaning service low start up.I make 100 per house now.
Even it is now OVER 4 years ago...
I compliment YOU, for taking your time and making this VIDEO
Thanks !
🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ why does loving people have to be gay?
The other day on the way out of Walmart I saw a homeless woman with a child and so I took them back inside and bought them some food, unfortunately I only had like $20 left, but still and anything change I had left I gave, even though it was like $3 I know it means something to them. There names were Mary and Lucas and I see them every week. They tell me stories about what people do to them, a 11 year old child. I see that there trying and that's why I keep trying too...❤️
I wish I could hug you, seriously.
But without the government, who would stop us from helping our fellow man?
***** I agree, you.
***** Don't worry, the government will take care of us.
I know this guy named Diamond and he's been homeless for years now and let me tell you he is one of the most awesome people I've ever met. This just makes me rage!
That old man deserves a medal
Powerful words Alpha. Powerful words.
This is ridiculous. So now being a good person is illegal.
***** That's state/municipal law, not federal. Obama had absolutely nothing to do with this.
Sadly yes It is.
Abbott.
"When i give food to the poor, they call me a saint. When i ask WHY the poor have no food, they call me a communist" - Hélder Pessoa Câmara
What the fuck is wrong with this world?
Where do I even begin on that one......humans.....that would be a good start I guess
ALPHA HAS SPOKEN!!!
+AlphaOmegaSin Jesus has spoken! I know I'm late to this, I just wanted to say that. Anyway, this is fucked up beyond belief.
*****
its also not the first time bullshit like this has happened
we live in a very fucked up world currently where the innocent and helpful get punished and the criminals often go free
Ironic how laws are suppose to help people and yet they deny the less fortunate any help
I was homeless for 10 years, now I'm not.
And I will not change that no matter how fucked up this world next to me is becoming and going downhill even more.
sry for my english btw. Its not my native language.
***** I guess your right about that sir but it just blows my mind how human beings can think like that. Its cruel, its heartless and just makes the world as a whole look worse. But im glad that its still the small minority. Greetings amigo
redlol123 Im glad to hear that. Other people would have make some insulting racist jokes by now usually. :)
***** Relax, they're just falsely assuming something, no need to act like they're trying to be dicks, because they're not.
they may have just disliked the idea that people could do this is all
this is what happens when you have sociopaths for lawmakers and politicians. Then when people who truly (seem to) care go in and get choked by (the thorns known as) their sociopathic counterparts. (just a guess of how it works)
You know what this case is like?
Done that.)
There is a person out there face palming him/her self right now
Rightfully so too
Its me
This kind of story pisses me off to no end.
Damn good for you bruh
I caught a glimpse of an article about this earlier, but hearing the details it makes me really sad to know how people would just push homeless people aside. I feel really bad for the people there. The people who are willing to help are heros in my book...
I say we go all the way to fort lauderdale and start giving food to the homeless like by the thousands and then see how the police will react
I've wanted to give to homeless people, but my family is having money problems, and im just a kid, so i cant do much even if i wanted to.
I want to do so much, but I just cant.
I understand completely. I'm dirt poor as well. I'm surprised we were able to afford internet and a computer.
MewStashe bless your soul
Bless all of you.
This is the kind of video hat should have no dislikes.
Anyone of us could be homeless pepole need to show more kindness to the less fortunate
Yeah dude it's called swatting and it's some bullshit too.
Chris Graham Couldn't agree more.
Darth Rhevar At least I don't feel like the only one now.
Chris Graham Dude, you have no clue how sick I am of seeing people with this narrow minded view on cops.
Darth Rhevar Try being the guy who's parents work corrections and were part of the various search parties looking for Eric Frein.... It pisses me off. Especially when the guy killed and the one injured were good friends of mine that I graduated with...
Keep in mind there is no sarcasm in this comment, i am extremely glad that the youtube money you earn from my views is going to a good cause :)
I'm glad you're not one of those dickheads that use adblock. God bless you.

Unfortunately yes :\
:| my god... Faith in humanity declines more...
I'm so glad you addressed this. When I first read it I found it to be some of the most heinous shit I've ever read.
Thanks i appreciate your message and strength! you are right in so many ways!!!
Helping people isn't profitable.
Sadly that is one way a lot of those scummy fucks in charge look at things
AlphaOmegaSin There are so many ways we can make homelessness a non issue. But it's better to spend our money on war and resource theft.
Aksels Streļčs What?
***** america should be more like denmark. raise the taxes a LITTLE and, bam, free healthcare and free houses.
I am conflicted about this, I work for the local council in the UK and have contact with alot of the so called homeless and to be honest I'd say the good majority aren't really homeless they're what we call "professional beggers" they beg and can make £300-400 aweek with relative ease.
that sounds stereotype. How does this speak for the people that truly are homeless
The council are the biggest "professional beggers" in the country. I'd rather give a couple of quid to a homeless guy to get a coffee and a sandwich than pay for bullshit like t.v license and council tax.
*****
If you want to give money to people that more than likely have more money than yorself be my guest.
That is partially true , I've seen beggars jump into rolls-Royce. Before crazy shit

Me and my m8 gave a homeless person some money and we felt happy for ourselves for helping this person as we was a poet and read them out to us and it was amazing every time we see him we give him whatever change we have and he always appreciates it
i love your beard.
Why thank you, I quite like it too
I would agree that it's horrible that he's being arrested for this, but not all homeless people need or want help.
Antonio Cunningham how do ya know though
Some fallacies on this comment
Contact them here. www.fortlauderdale.gov/commission/
Added that to the description, thanks for sharing it
AlphaOmegaSin I don't see that in the description either.
I think this is super sad, thank you for saying what's on your mind
I watched the video in the link provided and...I've haven't cried quite like this in a while.
I made an essay 3 years ago to a US senator to provide food for the homeless, and now this happens. Wow just wow, I could of go to prison just for this as well.
Everyday, I cry internally when I see the few homeless (and some beggars) that are on the way I take to go to work.
This man has a heart of pure sincerity (gold)
How are they even still in office? Who is standing up for them? We have to if no one else will
That old man is practically a saint for what he is doing, helping those in need.
I clicked the link to the article and they removed the page: Incredible.
My goodness this is one evil world.
Keep it up~
I just . . . I can't believe . . . . . . I'm going to lay down.
Oh how far this country has fallen.
I'm posting this as much as I can.
question: when did it become illegal to feed the homeless?
