Stephen West!!! YES YES!!! Garter Marler!!! Marled Mania Cardigan! Marled Mania Leggings! Slouchy Sleeve Sweater! Painting Honeycombs Jacket! I Know They Are Paid Patterns But I Think They're Absolutely Worth It. 💕
Thank you for this woderful video. I love to work with my scraps but yarns that not inspire me anymore I collect to make an advent for a dear friend of mine. So we both can share our creativity. And yes, I can relate to you chatting with your yarns.
Thank you. You’re so right about limitations. Having a limited quantity or colors of yarn can prompt you to choose outside of your usual mode. The result might be a wonderful surprise you would not have discovered had you stayed within your normal boundaries. 🥰👌
I found that the Seaglass patterns from Wool & Pine are fantastic for using up scraps, and there is no striping involved! You do you, but for me, don't like stripes. So these patterns allow for endless creativity and result in gorgeous garments. I've made two of the tees & three of the hats, and have plans for a sweater! Love watching your videos, Martina!❤ Thanks for the ideas!😊
Oh my goodness I just checked the pattern and I love it!!! I think I'm going to knit it for sure! It's so much more fun than stripes 🤗thank you for the tip💐
Thanks for reminding us about the “stuffing” option….I often forget about that! Purl Soho is a great resource, yes! As is Espace Tricot: beautiful simple, basic and special patterns for free 😊
😅 I enjoy these posts about using up scraps. I’d love to see one on how to store and catalog those bits and pieces we want to hang on to for repairs and such.
Lovely video Martina. I am into stripes at the moment and just want to knit some stripey top that I have brewing in my mind but goodness I have so many projects going, I need to finish at least 3 before starting something new. Thank you for the inspiration!
Ciao Martina! Love the idea of using up every bit of our yarn and I agree about this making us more creative....I actually think, like you, that any simple pattern, even self drafted is ideal for using up our yarn in a creative way, and actually any project can be made into stripes or other...Veronika lindberg (kutovakika) also made the stripey dress after the sweater, I was thinking of knitting at some point her "lola top", which has a retro vibe to me (I actually have a similar pattern in a pretty knitting book and am going to check that one out first), it has stripes too...another scrappy project I saw being made from a lovely french youtuber I follow, Nathalie from Simoneetginette, it's the "sea glass sweater" from wool&pine, although it looks like a lot of work because if I remember it is every row a different color and a lot of ends to weave in....will start thinking about what to make...I am a veeeery slow knitter so if I want to even try to participate I need to start thinking soon! 😂 much love to all 4 of you 🌺🌸🌺🌸
I love your videos so much - they're so uplifting and inspiring. I end up finishing your videos thinking "you know what, I CAN do anything I want with this yarn!" Thank you for helping me reinvigorate my creativity and for reminding me that there are unlimited possibilities ❤
What a great idea and inspirations! I really liked the purl soho kitchen designs you shared. I don’t have a lot a lot of scraps but I do have a few skeins lol. I’ve been thinking of crocheting a bucket hat or knitting a beanie too.

Dear Martina, thank you so much for all these great ideas! Especially the Olympe Vest caught my eye - very excited to knit this one. The Penguono from S.West is so much fun to knit, i absolutely can recommend this pattern ( i knitted five of this jackets, one for me and the others were gifted). Have a nice weekend ❣️
It´s really simple and Mr.West patterns are so well written and easy to follow- you can knit one in two weeks. Besides, you are knitting with pretty thick needles 😉!
thank you so much for this video, it was extremely helpful for me as someone with a lot of anxiety who is struggling to get back into crafts 🔥 especially the parts about not neccessarily making garments (i can use some washcloths and pillow stuffings ☺), which has this high risk of not fitting or otherwise not being good enough for a perfectionist like me - who has gained more weight than ever before, so needs new clothes urgently but is very insecure about what styles look flattering on this "new" body - and can't afford a lot of new clothes! this has really motivated me to takes first steps and go through my ancient yarn stash 🥰
Oh I'm so glad this gave you some inspiration 🤎 I know how hard it can be to make something for yourself after some time and changes in your physical self. Take all the time you need and be gentle with yourself🤎 and you don't have to necessarily make your own clothes, you can find second hands stores and try things out🤎💐
@@wegrowild right, another good idea to not neccessarily go to the second hand shops to buy things, but just try them on and see what looks good and then decide where to go from there! i can even do that in regular shops 🧐 was thinking to cut costs by buying curtains, tablecloths and linen second hand, and putting pressure on myself to sew them into clothes, but your hint has taken more of that pressure away, seeing it as just one of mutliple steps i can take later, after i found out what styles i really want 🤩 thank you again and much love to you and your human and canine family 💕🧔🐻❄🐻❄💕
@@sujammaz yes, let's that pressure out of ourselves 🤍🌱you'll find your style I'm sure, and your style can always change depending on what gives you joy. Sometimes I see a color or an item of clothing that is not "in my style" but it gives me so much joy and excitement that I make it or buy it anyway ...and then I end up using it more than any other item in my wardrobe 🤎
Sit down with your scraps and have a chat☺️I love that! Really enjoyed this episode lady! I just found your podcast and I’ll definitely being going back to watch more✨I just started my own knitting podcast this week💗
This is such a fun idea for a MAL Martina! I’ve just finished making the Stria Cardigan by Andrea Mowry using Purl Soho Linen Quill scraps as my stripes. It feels so good to get some of it out of my stash!
Oh that looks like a beautiful pattern to knit with some scraps! It feels light and fun to get "rid" of all of those little or not so little bits of fibers😅
I am currently working on a woolen bedspread with just scraps. Im using only wools and wool blends and I dont have enough scraps to finish it right now, but I know I always have somewhere to use my wool scraps.
I am knitting my third Penguono and I knitted two * Garter Goodness* by Stephen West out of leftovers. I am never bored to use my scraps, it's so fun to match the colors and textures.
The Anesidora Shawl from Larkspur Knits is a great scrappy pattern. It’s a triangular shawl where you start small and add increases until you get the full length of the shawl. You could use your smallest scraps at the beginning and end and larger amounts of leftovers for the longer middle section. She has several variations, so if you don’t like a super scrappy look she has suggestions for working the pattern with full skeins of a main colour and incorporating scraps as an accent. Also great for using up minis and advents.
Omg I WISH I'd made my mitred square blanket holding yarns double!! I started it in around 2017/8 when they were really popular and I'd just started knitting. Hopefully this winter will be the one when I finish it. 🤣🤞 Fingering weight yarn on 2.75mm needles UGH!!
Thanks Martina, beautifull, I make Quilty-bags , you can see it on my ravelry quiltingmieke, I will take part with your MAL with one of them big hug Mieke
Martina I just discovered your channel and I’m so inspired by your energy and love for nature and the earth. I love your outfits and color choices! I’m excited to knit scrappy projects after watching this! Also I love your overalls! May I ask where they are from?
Thank you so much🤍 I bought my overalls from Etsy, second hand/vintage so I think they were unique pieces but if you search for vintage overalls, I'm sure you'll find super nice ones🤎🤗

Scrappy projects are nice. I am working on a knitted dress. It's a stripy pattern. It's also a remake from a dress I owned in 1986.
Loooove that💐🤎

Love it!
Thank you Becky 🤍🌱

Love the videoooo❤❤❤
I also find blankets overwhelming. Some day when I'm older and have more time I will make a blanket just to say I have done it.
