My family is all allys and gay people but apparently me also being gay never crossed their minds. I had to come out three times to all the same people.
My family: the fact that I didn’t like anyone for the first 14 years of my life, didn’t particularly like romance genres or subplots, and literally never talked about characters that I thought were attractive apparently wasn’t enough of a clue for them to think I’m even slightly aroace (even though they did know about the concept beforehand).
I literally complained about romance to them and painted my nails both the aro flag colors and the aroace flag colors multiple times (and showed them, it was very obviously a pride flag design) to try to clue them in.
My parents got the idea on their own, that it was just as likely I end up bringing home a girl as a guy... In a way they where right, joke is on them I am ace and they are not happy with it

Everyone asks if I’m gay when I say I don’t like girls in my grade. Hell a group of girls asked me if I was gay because they heard a rumor
