I'm writing a script right now for my cinema classes in college where the short film is going to be set in my hometown in Northern Canada, and the whole idea is that the Sun has basically become lethal to human, not because of heat or anything so there's still snow everywhere. Basically the very few survivors out there are forced to live in the night at all time. And this soundtrack compilation really inspired me. And your comment really reminded me of my very own project.
ive been in the exact scene as this thumbnail, shinning a light into a forest i was in with snow coming down around me. That gaping darkness felt like a maw waiting to swallow me up.
Yeah, there's just something about it. I've been there too, nothing but a flashlight while it was snowing in the forest. While you can see what's ahead of you, as you look around, it's nothing but white and darkness. It's a terrifying feeling really, especially when you know something could be in that darkness, and they could be behind you at any moment.
..and then a few years older when we can pick the locale; my friends and i had a teen snowball fight in the woods not too far from our mum and dad's houses. great time. real life video game.
I live in Quebec, Canada where the main power company is publicly owned, by law they are not allowed to cut your power in winter (i think it's between October and April actually) even if you don't pay your bills at all and whats more, if you can'T afford to pay your electricity bills you can be put on a low income plan where they will ask you proofs of your income and then determine what you should be able to pay and then you'll have that fixed fee for the next year after which if you still have a low income you'll have to do the same process. I haven't paid more than 45 bucks monthly for electricity in something like 8 years as a result. When i first got on the plan i owed them a 1000$ and they cancelled my debt entirely after i'd stuck to the low income plan for like 3 years (meaning i'd paid all my bills on time, which i didn't have problem doing once they got under 50$, i dont mind telling you in the middle of winter around here it gets cold as f and my bills would be way above a 100 bucks monthly for just one person in a small apartment). My point is.... socialism is good.

As he trudged through the snow.. his emotions were like the feeling of the freezing atmosphere around him. He somehow found a twisted comfort within that. Sometimes he needed to escape to the extremities to be reminded of what was real and what wasn't in a world that sold and presented so many lies. His need for truth was growing stronger by the day because he was disinheartened by all that he saw and heard. Why was it so hard to find genuiness.. simple factual undressed conversation. They liked to wrap their words with pretty sparkly bows as if wrapping a present.. and it made him feel sick to the stomach. He wasn't seeking revenge, he was seeking reality in an unreal world. He could feel the emotions begin to stir within and disgusted at himself that times he fallen into the trap of acceptance by people who he didn't even respect. Not really when all was said and done. He became everything he despised and that tainting affectected him deeply. His own emotions were rising up and he suddenly fell to his knees, head in his hands as if bowing to the night sky.. in a huddled position.. his body began to shake and tremble as he allowed his emotions to be released in a deep, sobbing broken cry. He began to pound the snow with his fist.. angrily.. each time he did something with inside himself broke.. lifting his head an almighty long roar escaped from his mouth though in actual fact much deeper within.. echoing in the night sky.. he roared deeply until he was unable to physically kneel any longer, collapsing face down in the snow. His face turned to the side.. allowing him to breathe.. Taking deep breaths and feeling his heart beat against the snowy ground.. feeling emptied rather than empty. Knowing from this moment forth he wasn't going to be the same person he was before.. he didn't know how to explain it but a change had just taken place.. rolling into his back.. he looked up at the night sky.. it was so clear.. all the stars shining with their own glory.. as he thought how simple it was for them.. to just be. Not having to feel or think human emotions or thoughts. This was the closest he had felt to that .. to just be.. no distractions, no interference, no lies. The snow didn't lie as it soaked through his clothing.. feeling the cold and wetness of its breaking down as his body lay upon it.. The sky wasn't trying to pretend it was a tree or the sun. It just was.. looking at the expanse of the sky was mind-blowing.. and that's only what his own eyes could take in.. the stars that spattered across the cross the sky.. he wondered how many lives they had looked upon over history.. some appeared larger than others, yet no less impressive.. they didn't complain about their size, they just were being what they were made to be. They weren't trying to change themselves to impress or conform to the other stars.. yet surely over all the years of existence change must have taken place even within them. He listened to the sounds carrying upon the wind as if bringing a message to him.. He thought about the mystery of that.. he couldn't see the wind itself yet the things that danced or floated upon the wind were visible for him to see.. how far could a single item really travel upon the wind.. he enjoyed thinking about things like that.. it seemed to be such a freedom unknown to man.. they can create machines to assist flight.. but to actually float like a feather or leaf bouncing and weaving about.. highs and lows.. ins and outs, being able to turn at any time and roll with no pressure points on the body. When he thought about these things he could almost feel the freedom within that but to speak it out verbally sounded much harsher than how he thought it.. so he kept such thoughts to himself. It frustrated him at times trying to express the feelings not just the thoughts because as thoughts alone while interesting didn't have the same meaning. Once again reminded just how much he is affected around those who don't understand in a negative way and doesn't enjoy who he is as that person. Changes are definitely coming and he knows this is only the very start. He knew it would be a cold day in hell before he allowed those lying sluts to force him to become someone he wasn't. He wasn't ashamed of himself he felt no need to lie about his life.. but many did live within shame.. not he.. he refused because so many were only able to see things from their own perspective.. narrow minded and controlling. He had fought hard against that.. Who did they think they were. Noone had the right to force him to become someone he wasn't. He was open minded to new ideas.. but he chose what worked for him.. he could be very reasonable.. but when pushed and feeling controlled by those he couldn't even respect any longer.. that was a different story.
Hey Simon, if you like survival games built around hypothermia you might like Skyrim with frostfall installed. It's actually a really harsh and enjoyable experience as traveling between cities and towns actually requires planning and supplies if you don't want to freeze or die on the way. Really makes gameplay dynamic, with a massive focus on survival in forests.
Or you could just take up mountaineering as a hobby & make memorable experiences worth sharing instead of playing a game for x amount of time with nothing to show from the hours you contributed to said game. Just a thought.
Monolith Guy sorry bud just projecting my personal regret of wasting my youth on video games & having nothing to show from the 1000’s of hours ive spent playing them. Regardless if you enjoy it, and it harms nobody who I am to judge. If video games have taught me anything it’s life is to short for games & time is a friend to no one. Best of luck to you. ✌🏼
"Skyrim is harsh, men. Skyrim is not Cyrodiil. We go to face down men, to break a rebellion, but you will also face a land that breaks men. The Fatherland doesn't need steel or spell or arrow to take you; Skyrim has vast wastes of cold earth to starve you, beasts that shame those of your Cyrodiil to take you in the night even when you feel safe by your fires, and a cold so bitter and unforgiving and unending that you will feel like death's breathing on you every step of the way. Dress warm, and never let your fires die. Let's move out." -Nord ranger of the Imperial Legion leading a fresh batch of soldiers from the Jerall Mountains into Skyrim; Year 201 of the Fourth Era

It's Valentines day and I just was lost in a year of memories in 9 minutes. I swear it was like we were communicating and working something through. Might never know.
I grew up in the rural areas of my country. It was a village at the foot of a mountain, at the edge of the forest. There was no light on the road in front of our house except for 2 street lamps quite far between them. (there would be quite a distance between them in the dark, and our house was within that range.) And at the last point where the light reached, the dark forest would begin. In my country, the toilets in the villages would be outside the houses. When I was a kid, I didn't want to go to the toilet at night. But when I had to go, I would do my best not to look into the forest. Because in that darkness, in that silence behind the trees, I always thought that something was watching me. And I felt that if I made eye contact with that thing, it would attack me. this picture is exactly what I saw outside my house. Dark pines where the light only shines in front and I don't know what's behind
Winter - My beloved season. Cold, clean air, stars in the sky, snow, complete silence in a snowy forest and the light of the moon make me feel alive. I love being in the snow forest, it is like a medicine for everything.
Thanks for another excellent mix! This is just in time as the cold weather starts rolling in... I’ve got to say, I really miss your livestream- that was incredible. Every time I plugged in, there it was, welcoming me back.
I spent 03 and 04 training in the Yukon north of Fairbanks. I remember the stars, the snow, the mountains, and the beautiful northern lights. A bit of midnight heaven. This would have been amazing then.
this whole mix is so beautiful. reminds me of the dark and solemn Winters up at my parents house, where they live in a small town surrounded by deep forests and valleys of Muskoka, Ontario Canada. For sure if i was visiting them on any weekend during these winter months, I would be at my dad's thick wood desk working on something late into the night as the gentle but heavy snow falls under the blanket of gentle winds brushing up against the windows to their kitchen and living room of their house they converted into a bed & breakfast.

That was so beautiful! I can't believe this doesn't have more likes!!!!
Did you ever consider writing a book or short stories? This was VERY good!
Wonderful!
my heart feels cozy and calm when listening to this
Hey Simon, if you like survival games built around hypothermia you might like Skyrim with frostfall installed. It's actually a really harsh and enjoyable experience as traveling between cities and towns actually requires planning and supplies if you don't want to freeze or die on the way. Really makes gameplay dynamic, with a massive focus on survival in forests.
Sounds pretty interesting!
Or you could just take up mountaineering as a hobby & make memorable experiences worth sharing instead of playing a game for x amount of time with nothing to show from the hours you contributed to said game. Just a thought.

Why of course great wise one. How foolish of me to commit the grave sin of playing video games, please forgive my transgressions.
A surprisingly wholesome response
"Skyrim is harsh, men. Skyrim is not Cyrodiil. We go to face down men, to break a rebellion, but you will also face a land that breaks men. The Fatherland doesn't need steel or spell or arrow to take you; Skyrim has vast wastes of cold earth to starve you, beasts that shame those of your Cyrodiil to take you in the night even when you feel safe by your fires, and a cold so bitter and unforgiving and unending that you will feel like death's breathing on you every step of the way. Dress warm, and never let your fires die. Let's move out."

yeah or actually go outside
@@jakubszlosarczyk3916 You have no reason to think that this guy doesn't go outside other than to fuel your own negative presuppositions. I don't know you personally but I have to assume that if you make comments like this regularly that you are just an abysmal person to be around and I would encourage you to stay inside and save the rest of us the chance of ever having to interact with you personally.

Out of every mix you've made, this one makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up straight. Absolutely chilling
The feeling here brings me back to winter-based survival-horror games like "Cursed mountain" and "Kholat". Totally recommended!
Great mix as always! Hey, have you ever considered making an ambient mix of being in underground Labs and Bunkers?
Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead intensifies
They should totally do that! And I know they will...looking forward!
The Halflife mix
If he hasn't done it yet, then he should. That would be awesome!
@@zombieslayer7759 I would love to see something like that "\(°^°)/''
This track already exists in my in my dreams... at the end of the long hall.
Expatriate in a country where it is still over 35 degrees during the day, Atrium Carceri manage to give me chills. Thank you.
I'm writing a book while listening to this. Really inspiring. Its about the apocalypse, in winter times. Its called "New World: The Outbreak"
Heh, I am writing a book as well. I was looking for videos like this one for inspiration of the environment and the atmosphere.
Do you have Discord? I would like to discuss our ideas, if you wish. Have an amazing week!
I was writing a story of Arctic Restoration, and intrigue while listening to this!
The main character loves cold weather, but doesn't like company of others. So it's a lonely few chapters

I was about to say, "Tea's on!"
God, now I can't unhear it......thank you so much -__-
@@shayden4296 well thats what it is. So good lol
This mix makes me feel like I'm about to freeze to death in the woods.
10/10
It's Valentines day and I just was lost in a year of memories in 9 minutes. I swear it was like we were communicating and working something through. Might never know.
I work in a freezer warehouse always -50f thanks for this
I grew up in the rural areas of my country.
I love it when the rain / hail starts
Oh but I love it when the rain ends too
Music to calm the part of us that never makes it out. It likes to be acknowledged.
Perfect for what my area's been like for the past couple days: dark and snowy.
Thank God I find this. It's like 53* in Florida right now and I'm freezing
Isn't it lovely? I'm reading outside right now and not sweating!
watching this, while there is a snowstorm outside... i feel a bit cold...
Cool
This sounds exactly like the picture, its crazy
There are few better feelings than finding peace and comfort in the stealth of a snowy forest at night
Idk why this kinda music makes me calm down and feel peace
I really enjoyed this mix. Especially the very end portion. That lovely bass.
Listen to this while simultaneously watching a horror game playthrough.
It can sometimes really add to the atmosphere.
You have a photograph handsome in your perfil LOL wonderful
просто божественный канал, мы используем многие композиции во время игр в D&D, спасибо большое)
Winter - My beloved season. Cold, clean air, stars in the sky, snow, complete silence in a snowy forest and the light of the moon make me feel alive. I love being in the snow forest, it is like a medicine for everything.
This has to be my favorite Atrium Carceri mix.
Another amazing journey to fill the voids with atmosphere...... I love it @cryo chamber thanx for posting
Listening to this while reading The Shinning 😁
Haha ..creepy.
Haha ..creepy.
This audio is amazing for the video game I play, An amazing apocalyptic wateland survival
Wateland ...where is that ?;
This music really helped to stave off my frostbite and hypothermia. Thanks!
Thanks for another excellent mix! This is just in time as the cold weather starts rolling in... I’ve got to say, I really miss your livestream- that was incredible. Every time I plugged in, there it was, welcoming me back.
1 year of this song! Still getting the chills!
Thanks
I spent 03 and 04 training in the Yukon north of Fairbanks. I remember the stars, the snow, the mountains, and the beautiful northern lights. A bit of midnight heaven. This would have been amazing then.
If only it were to snow tomorrow, that'd be great to go along with another wonderful compilation.
Perfect for long dark(game) walkthrough. thank you!
How can people dislike your music???? It's calming and relaxing, and good!
this whole mix is so beautiful.
reminds me of the dark and solemn Winters up at my parents house, where they live in a small town surrounded by deep forests and valleys of Muskoka, Ontario Canada.
For sure if i was visiting them on any weekend during these winter months, I would be at my dad's thick wood desk working on something late into the night as the gentle but heavy snow falls under the blanket of gentle winds brushing up against the windows to their kitchen and living room of their house they converted into a bed & breakfast.
THIS IS SO CREEPY AND I LOVE IT
I’ve always loved snowy cold weather and this makes it better
I've been subbed to this channel for about 5 years now and you guys never cease to put out great stuff. Love it.
Когда зимой на 10 минут вышел за батоном в магнит напротив дома
Even if this is two years old it is great work and fits perfectly as background music while i'm writing my book. i had ya in my sight for quite a while now but now you have my support. keep up the good work.
I literally come to Cryo Chamber's channel for some nice soothing vibes when dosing off to sleep. Thanks you for all of the calm and beautiful nights :)
Somehow deeply comforting...
My preferred kind of 'The Road' ambience.
Chill mix ... It feels like I'm huddled around a campfire just chillin
I knew I was going to love this one within the first 30 seconds.
Damn. I feel how I'll be scouting a lot of this guy's videos from now on to find fitting music to go with my scenes in D&D with the boys.
Have started watching The Terror and was in need of music like this. Exactly what I wanted!
Love this. Love everything about it. Reminds me of home. 😞
And yet another cold themed ambience mix. Always on point.
Bro I was praying that I found an good ass ambience that sounds natural like this, PLEAAASSEEEE DO NOT QUIT RUclips EVER. Also can you do me one of intense and adrenaline, like if your being hunted by people trying to kill you type stuff and it sounds extremely blood pumping.
Haha
Perfect music for a trip through the woods. :)
Thanks, Cryo Chambers, really thanks for your great music.
and winter shares it silence with us once again.
Why don't you have more subs? This is quality!
