This is the most unconventional build ever. Aliexpress. Xeon E5. 720 GB SSD. LGA 1356 board. But I LOVE IT. I slapped that like button on the chest 😎

You got to be one of the best youtubers around, such a frickin boss. Keep doing your thing. Mad Love.
thanks brother, glad you are enjoying the content.
The fact that these support ECC memory makes this board and processor a fantastic build for a FreeNAS server as well!
I paid $150 for a Ryzen 5 1600(sealed in box) and MSI B350, paid $40 for a cooler and 8gb of ram, paid $50 for a RX480 8gb in the last month. I also picked up a 144htz display and another 8gb ram for $140 all locally!
Nice deals mate! Really nice build for a very good price - enjoy!
Nice man, but with such a budget build, the 144hz is completely useless, a 60hz is more than enough in my opinion
@@Saad-ih3ys totally disagree. You dont even know what games he is playing. Even pubg or apex can be run with that system at 120+ fps with competitive settings. Hehe, I'm still waiting for my parts to arrive :D
waiting for my e3-1220 v2 and b75 motherboard
I’ve just got a new computer which is a laptop. It has
Intel Core i5 4310m vPro
4GB RAM 1600 MHz
500GB Laptop Thin SSHD (it is painfully slow with almost 4000 hours of power on time)
Intel HD 4600 vPro
Since it’s a haswell based system I will dual boot XP and 8.1 when I get my Crucial MX300 275GB SSD and my 12GB 1866MHz RAM
Yes it is needed. I make videos.
@@whitebeartigtig That's great but will 12GB ram will fit into that thing? Also good luck running the memory at anything over 1600 since you can't overclock it and there's no XMP as far as I know. And good luck editing video on a integrated graphics.
Todd Simone the motherboard supports 1866MHz DDR3 RAM
Try to test more games that heavily depends on single core performance.
Thank you. I’m replacing my 2200g with this and using the 2200g on another case I have laying around. I already own the RX570 and plan on using it here. Now I will have 2 gaming PCs for my family for around $500
These $2 led strips are really something.
Love to see your still running those cheeky Xeons in newer builds. Such an underrated CPU. Putting i7's out of business 😂
Awesome video Bryan
Incredible video. I've been building PCs since the late 90s and I would've never thought to use brake cleaner on a grimy ol' GPU. You just opened my world up.
I'm trying to do a $250 build for a friend with that CPU/Mobo combo. Finding a GPU cheap enough is really the biggest issue. Thanks for pointing it out last week!
shit, 110$ you can get a brand new MOBO and the ryzen 5 1600. its plenty for gaming. GPUs are scattered online for cheap.
also in mining you undervolt these and keeping them low temp is important to maximize uptime. Uptime equals profit
And here it is, 2420! Amazing price/performance. Thank you for doing this!
You are the KING of re-use and re-cycle sir !! Well done mate !
Please benchmark this pc some more.....maybe pubg and some AAA rgp's? Keep up the good work! :D
Seller has over 9000 chips?

Great build and the cpu , gpu combo works well , cant fault the build or looks , thanks
As always, sees a notification that the "YES MAN" has a budget PC build. Must watch NOW!
idk how i feel about that cpu when the first thing i think to compare it to is an FX chip.
Have the same exact case. Excellent and compact. Great choice 👍
I really like those phrases like "Tech *YES* lovin'" or "can the *YES* fix it", as the they are funny and show how passionate you are about old hardware.
Keep up the good -work- I mean *YES*. 👍🏻
I'm glad we're getting to the point where high core count CPU's are mainstream enough for game devs to focus on taking advantage of the extra processing power. Finally the world is catching up to enthusiasts!
The Zalman S2 is a better value case at $45, it comes with 3 fans, which 2 are “quiet edition” and the airflow and aesthetics are amazing. Really would like you to check it out.
coldsore yes but for an extra $15 - $25 you can get a good budget power supply especially if you find one from EVGAs midweek madness sale on Wednesday’s so it ends up around $65 - $75 total for case and power supply, which I think is better than this because I prefer the Zalman case over the one In the video, especially for its great airflow and aesthetics. Add a 5 pack of RGB fans from amazon for $30 and boom you got a sexy RGB case with nice airflow.
Never realised how badly I need an Ozito electric screwdriver until I started seeing you use one Bryan!
Just finished my build of this bad boy. I never had a motherboard fight me so hard. I had to load windows 7 on a disk and upgrade it to Windows 10. Crazy!!!
Nice! Awesome build for the money even with shipping to us Americans!
The fact that this can all be purchased without ever having to put on pants is an added bonus! 😂
Cheers
Yeah, I like that! TECH YES LOVIN'!!! The YES MAN is the Best!!!
G'day Brian,
This a great build showing that there are older parts that still can give decent performance & mixing them wit new parts can get a decent cheap build,
I got one of these Cougar PSU & it is great for the money, also the Case is great value with Glass & although not a standout is a good looking case,
another Budget case I like for M-ATX is the Silverstone PS15 for $59AUD with a full glass panel & full mesh front, although it doesn't have a PSU Basement.
Great video, glad its 1080p

Out of interest, i am flipping a Dell XPS 7100 i got for £40 because it didn't turn on (the front panel connector was loose).. it had a Phenom II x6 1045, 8gb ddr3, 128gb ssd, 320gb hdd, cd drive, windows 7 upgraded to windows 10 and a 480w psu with two 6 pin power connectors! The RX 470 was £50, so thanks to you i may unwittingly have my salvation! (I have tried everything else today trust xD) We share a passion.. Thanks!
great work keep it coming.
Hi @Tech YES City i have a favor. Would you mind make separate video on how to tweaking the bios of LGA1356 mobo full tutorial (Like OC and XMP, etc...)???

Can you do a video with this setup vs overclocked x3440?
Man, forget about 1156 xeons, they are dead. Especially mb will be dead, If you choose to overclock on any of them. Because it's just old
These business server boards probably have been used for more hours than personal 1156 boards. I have an Asus board myself and as Brian has mentioned, they dont have problems. I'm sure it'll be fine.
What I want to see is how clock speeds will help in gaming performance for the older, 8 thread Nahalem architecture vs a low clocked 6 core Ivy Bridge (4GHz vs 2.2GHz).

@@itzcue251 I think it's worth it to go to microcenter because you also get a warranty
Looks good but the case dwarfs the parts and it looks kinda empty inside.
Personally I really like this case and the reason it looks empty is because the case is quite big which in my opinion is a huge bonus for the price it goes. Of course looks are subjective :)
@@xingbairong I'm personally a fan of smaller cases myself, where the parts look at home and plus a smaller case is just a bit more practical for me. Something like the Q300L could be nice for this build since thermals aren't an issue with these parts

how you clean the gpu is really awesome
I kind of did not like the red led strip but all other things were spot on
im convinced you are from a dystopian future where all electronics are built from salvage, wich is where you learned your future terminology (gravis card) and extreme skill and speed in slapping these systems together.
You should do a video comparing the Ivy bridge Xeon in this video with an x3440 or x3430. I'm curious which one has better gaming performance, the overall performance is obviously in favor of the Ivy bridge Xeon though.
3440 is just beating the 3430 woth 4 more threads. Just get the x3440
Yes, but I'm curious about gaming performance, and in games that don't need the threads the x3430 was better.
Very negligible real world difference esp with so many gpu dependent games. I have a 3440 myself.
same, though I run mine with a gtx 950, so I don't really get bottlenecked by the CPU.
Nice build Brian.
Holy sheeet! Perfect low powered HTPC or fileserver build. Love it! Don't quite like the bling tho.

Hey could you please do a video where you directly compare this xeon to other cpus?
