What’s even more messed up is I have a strong feeling he’s been planning this for awhile. The only reason to file in Florida is because they have some of the strictest child custody/support laws in the country. I kow at least one woman who moved there after getting pregnant so she could file for child support under Florida laws. They don’t even live there. He knew exactly what he was doing and probably has been planning to do it for awhile. All he needed to do was own property in Florida (which most celebrities do due to tax incentives) for 6 months and claim it as his primary residence and he can file in Florida even if he doesn’t actually live there.

The only way it should be done is either for survival purposes because you don't have any other choice but to ask each other for help till you get on your feet or because you have kids together and you want to combine the incomes so the children grow up more comfortably any other reason is stupid unless you just know for 100 percent sure that this is the person you want to spend the rest of your life with I'm sure it happens but it's extremely rare and it's nothing like in those teen drama movies were they find each other in high school. You will go through at least 10-30 of them before you find one that you can tolerate and even then you still got to worry about people being nosy about your relationship so you wind up having to go places seperately just to keep people out of your business.

Yep! Florida doesn’t play when it comes to child support. I was HR at a fertilizer plant in FL in the early 2000s. We needed to hire an engineer. I put an ad out and then went on vacay. When I came back they had hired someone. When I met this dude, it instantly knew he was off and so did the other women. I decided to check il his references anyway. When I mentioned his name both HR people said, “Oh no.” Legally, HR people can only verify start/end dates and salary. I told some the guys who knew folks at the other fertilizer plants and they jumped on board to get the tea as they got bad vibes from the dude too. In the meantime creeper dude started sexually harassing one of the ladies in accounting and the front seat temp who I had just talked to about becoming a permanent employee. Both ladies ended up leaving because of this dude. The management were so far up this dude’s ass for some reason and even fired the accounting woman’s male boss because he had the audacity to stand up for his former employee.
I promise, I’m getting to the child support part. The guys who worked in the plant were pissed about the two ladies having to make their exit and that this dude was getting away with it, so they made a point be out front when we remaining ladies got to work and to walk us out when we got off work. Creeper dude would often use his car to block the ladies he was harassing. Oh, and I had to one one one sexual harassment trading where he apologized for giving me more work to do but was such a f*ing misogynistic sociopath that he couldn’t grasp the harm he done to these women. The guys also started reporting HR’ry offenses this dude was committing. One time he came in with white powder on his nose and shirt. I made immediate arrangements for him to go get a mandatory drug test. He ran to cry to the President of the company and his enabler told him he didn’t have to go. Turns out he stolen a lot of stuff from both of his previous jobs and instead of pressing charges, the companies “let” him quit in the condition that he returned everything. The president’s secretary decided to pay for a complete background check and a PI out of her own pocket. She found out he had given a some one else’s social security number. Now that’s considered lying on your application. I gleefully began the termination paperwork. The weak ass President intervened again and told him to give him to give me his real social.
Welp, here comes the state of Florida. As soon as I entered his number, I get a call from the state. They let me know he had significantly overdo child support and that his wages were going to garnished! They also let me know that his ex-wife was going to be calling to get health insurance information as according to the divorce decree he was suppose to be paying for that too for the kids. When the ex-wife called, she told me that she had been trying to find him for years. She had had two kids with him and he adopted her kid from her first marriage. I let her know when the garnishments would start. In Florida, the money goes to the state and then they make the payments to the parents who are owed. I dropped her insurance information in FedEx so she could get it the next day. I also included a little note with his current phone number and home address. I told EVERYBODY except for creeper dude and the upper management enablers and we all waited for the next payday. Florida took his whole damn check except for $300!!!! It was glorious. He stormed into my office and I just smiled and told him to take it up with the state of Florida as it was out my hands. He then noticed the increase in the health insurance deduction. I told that according to your divorce decree, I pulled out the letter from the State of a Florida, I just had to add his three kids to his insurance. He ran to cry to the President, I then let him know I had spoken and mailed information to his ex-wife. President said, “Well we should let HIM take care of that.” I said, “Well, clearly we can’t since she’s been trying find him for three years.” Here’s the kicker, this dude had a whole, new brand new wife and a 1 year old AND baby on the way and she had NO IDEA he had even been married before or that he had other kids. He had her call me, I guess to garner some sympathy and he hadn’t told her anything. He was so narcissistic, I guess he thought I wouldn’t tell her. Florida sucks as a state in so many ways BUT you will get your child support. Make no mistake.

It happens. Some people feel a much deeper connection when they meet their partner for the first time. It isn't about what they look like, sometimes you just know that the person you have been waiting for all your life is infront of you. It's much like that video of Taylor Swift's song willow, it's about the soul connection, you feel a pull all your life and finally feel like you have found that person. It's surreal, otherworldly and you have to experience it to believe it. I am happy I found that in my life. It's not as superficial as lust. I didn't even sleep with my guy for the first 6 years of our relationship because I wanted to wait, yet passion and emotions were still strong.
Having said that, I don't think that was the case for these two, it seems like they never thought their relationship through, it was a very spur of the moment thing, much like their wedding and now their divorce. Very immature.

Even out-of-state marriages aren't safe if you don't have Sophie’s resources. I was raised in the Assemblies of God church, the same as Joe Jonas. So much was triggered when the story broke that he was filing for custody alongside images of her just trying to enjoy a girl's night out. Every time I’d try to go to my mom's or anywhere safe over state lines with my kids, my ex & inlaws would threaten me with kidnapping charges. These were not empty threats, these people are terrifying bullies who believed they were doing the lord’s work protecting the sanctity of our marriage. This went on for years until I had to finally leave without my kids and not a cent because he controlled everything. He served me with divorce papers that stated he’d get full custody knowing I did not have the resources to return to fight it. Leaving without my kids, losing them in the divorce, while struggling financially laid the perfect groundwork for his smear campaign. Aside from control, full custody gets him the tax credits, the food stamps, approved for less expensive better housing, etc. and the second I slightly improve my financial situation no doubt he’ll try for child support. It also strengthens his false narrative that he’s the better parent in the eyes of the court. My kids and I have remained extremely close, they know the truth because they are living it. They are also silenced because they've learned the hard way it's not safe to do otherwise. There is nothing more dangerous than a therapist who is not trauma-informed because they’ll confidently bring in the abusive parent to work it out in a group setting and then those kids and/or co-parent are fucked the moment they are out of the session. Meanwhile, the therapist has been charmed and the false narrative strengthened. I'm back in the same city as my children parenting them because, at the end of the day, this was never about him wanting to be their parent and actually do anything. Any time I step out of line by his terms, he’ll do something dramatic like take me to court insisting my visits should be supervised. They’re baseless claims that in the end, go nowhere…but they waste time, energy, and resources, and give him a public platform to go on record and share my past trauma and just straight-up lie on record. So I fall back in line. At this point restoring my reputation, or support system feels pointless, I just want to be with my kids, and as long as I don't challenge him he lets me…because he hates parenting himself. Once every few years I'll get brave enough to share like this but eventually delete it because I never know to what extent I'm being monitored.

I had no idea the french law was like that but then again they are like that with states too if you want to move and divorced spouse who also has a right to see their kids you can't just pack up and go. Having kids with someone is being with them for at least 18 years in some way or another.
It's especially dangerous to think a guy from a muslim country or India is "just different" and "modern" and "not like his family" when he's dating a western woman, that will all change when you are the wife and his family dictated how the wedding had to go, then he starts thinking you should dress and behave a certain way and if you leave his ego will not be able to take that well. If you have kids, he can take them to his country and you'll never see them again because as soon as they are there, the courts there say they belong with him, no matter if he ditches them with illeterate grandma in the country who will abuse them and marry them of as a child, you have no rights to them as a shamed divorced woman.

They really just dump the kids with the grandmother to spite the ex wife. They do not love or care at all about the actual children and their futures.

Hearing this story put a bad taste in my mouth so I opted out of seeing them. They still have a strong fandom. I just KNOW that Joe is going to make this very hard for Sophie and break her down. I just KNOW he's going to make her decide, either you stay in the US to see your kids or you choose to go back to England and spend whatever amount you have to commute to the US until they're 18. the major red flag here was them breaking up before marriage/during their engagement? right before engagement? yeah :/ not good. and i know exactly what you mean when you say love at first sight isn’t real. i agree. it’s usually same frequency or energy at first sight. this has happened to me only once and it 3/4 yrs ago was when i was like 20 in college and there was this boy who sat at the front of the class and i was in the back. every time i had this class i’d look at the back of his head with this strange level of magnetism or attraction and i didn’t even know his name or face for the longest time just this random feeling of being drawn toward this person. mind you i’m introvert avoidant! and there was no way i had any intention EVER to talk to or meet this man 😵‍💫🤣 one day we had to do group projects and he was in my group and we just stared at eachother and couldn’t stop smiling and laughing for NO REASON. y’all it was that corny ish you hate to see but it’s truly genuine and you can’t control it. the reason i say this is real is because we never got into a relationship. i could tell he was sad when the semester ended and we parted ways coz i made no move to make it clear i was reciprocating. that was me being a coward. but it truly was like a soul mate experience? idk but it did not feel lusty it was purely familiarity, comfort but we were not IN love with eachother. it’s more like you see the potential for it because there’s this palpable feeling of that being completely possible. i hope i get a chance to experience it again later in my life when i’m truly ready for love.

Have only met one short men who was a'ight but he was not short coz of lack of height but just "naturally" as a dwarf. They're just overall "smaller" vs lack of height growth. The others who are height-short tho... the Napoleonic complex was definitely strong in them.
This is a bummer about Joe Jonas. His brother, Nick, who's married to Priyanka Chopra is said to be a really supportive partner. According to Priyanka, she was tempted to centre him from the word go but he was always getting her to prioritise her work and interests and to never lose sight of all the hard work she's done in her career. Really a case of nature vs nurture. They're all brothers growing up in the same household but not all bros end up the same.

Everything in life worth having is worth working for. What you are describing is a struggle. When I was still a student I learned something I think more people should know.
Going somewhere you don’t speak the language, the amount of effort new speakers have with the intention of use and the struggle to decide what you hear helps new language steep into the brain faster and more effectively then just studying alone.
Just 2 weeks of daily effort living in a place where you didn’t know the language is equal to a full semester of language learning in college.
If this is something you want, that you think is healthy for you mind, body, and soul, then embrace the struggle with acclimating to somewhere new, because if that shift helps you shake of toxicity that is eroding your life, in the end that effort will yield powerful rewards.
I hope you find all the happiness and stability life has to offer no matter where you go.

@@AlanSmithee789I don’t remember who it was, but in one of my linguistic classes years ago I heard of a linguist who once described English as a sub-dialect of French because it has absorbed sooooo many French words. Like a lot.
I mean 300 years of occupation is bound to have massive and lasting social impacts. And in language in particular, because societies tend to elevate the languages and dialects of the ruling class, whoever that is. And English is such a hard language to learn because it’s a sponge language that has absorbed a so many words from so many languages.
Sorry for the rant. I’m fully a language nerd so it does not take much for me to go off.

    • @Waterfall_And_Roses
      @Waterfall_And_Roses Год назад +11

She did a video recently where she talked about the struggles with learning french. Montreal would be a lot more forgiving for english speakers. You do find sexism and racism very much present there, and some jobs require you to speak french. The old white men that are landlords do discriminate. If you are a white woman with a degree, it is easier. But it is a beautiful city! One struggle is getting a job close to where you work and not having a big commute. Think about what you want long term in your life and build yourself up towards that. I don't know where you are in your life, but for me getting a degree and job in tech gave me a lot of power. I was no longer dependent on anyone else and I had freedom. I stopped being obsessed about getting married (being dependent).
Create a position of power for yourself and build towards your happiness and future! ❤ I am rooting for you!
