I’ve not cleaned out my closet for the last 4 years and have been wearing the same clothes during covid and after. With your style influence, I have cleaned out most of my summer clothes and with that noticing that I hid my body in oversized clothes. I took them all to the thrift stores. I feel so naked on the inside but free. Now it’s time to shop for the capsule wardrobe and some pop…..
Beth, you are amazing and I am so happy to be part of your community. Thank you for all of your hard work to provide such great content that stands out from the rest. 😊
Love this tutoring session. I’ve been a member of your community for two years. You’ve helped to remind me of the importance of being honest with myself. I love being 61 and wearing my style. Everyday I try to have them remember me!
Hi Beth , I found your channel a few years ago. I subscribed around that time. This spring I turned 60. I still haven’t achieved the classic look I wish to attain. With your guidance I sure have come quite a way toward it. I don’t expect to ever reach your level of style however I do feel more confident every time I make a wardrobe choice using the lessons I’ve learned from you. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom. I look forward to your future videos and advice.
Hi Beth-your approach to style is to be emulated. You have impeccable taste and such confidence. Whenever I watch your videos I feel more confident about wearing shorts, bathing suits and such. So thank you for all that you share with us ladies out there. You’re really an inspiration!!!!
Very important tips. I think keeping our closet organize is very important. Thank you Beth for your advise in how not to look frumpy, as we get older we need really need it.
I have no problem dressing in cooler weather, because I love blazers and classic layers. But the hot, humid weather here in Louisiana is more challenging. And please don’t just say linen, it quickly looks like a limp dishrag in our 90% humidity. I very much love the quiet luxury look but so much of it is for cooler weather. Suggestions? I have a pear shape body so shift dresses are out.
Always classy and stylish! I will be retiring from teaching next year and am already looking at changing my wardrobe a bit. I work in kindergarten and my clothes have to give me some flexibility to sit on the floor or at a desk, to be outside or help at lunch. I’ve intentionally tried to match my style while not breaking the bank on my day to day clothing. What has happened is my weekend wardrobe doesn’t always reflect my full style. I would love to see something on making a translation like this.
I agree; I too retired from the educational system a few years ago; what I found is that went from dress pants to blue jeans; pull over blouses; I do during the week have luncheon with friends where can I dress up but still informally; I gave away most of my dresses ; kept a few classic pieces for weddings and funerals; at this time I really don't want to invest big bucks for clothing; could you do a video for classic clothing that doesn't break the bank.
You are a beautiful person, inside and outside. I look forward to your video’s. You are probably younger than I am (70) and you inspire me. Thank you Beth.
Wow, I like your fabulous classy style. I'm inspired to change my wardrobe.. Thanks for adding to my knowledge. Will definitely consider this and share your lovely vid. God bless. 😍
I enjoy your videos and hope you continue making them despite negative comments from some likely small portion of your audience. You mentioned taking inspiration from fashion, magazines. I’ve canceled all my subscriptions because they can’t stay out of politics. Channels like yours have replaced them. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing. I’m more of an apple shape and I do like to wear high waist pants and skirts. I’ve been told I have nice legs so I try to wear dresses or skirts so I can show my legs and the high waisted items help me to hide my midsection.❤
@@paulohlsson27 thanks, everything was fine. May I ask you a question? You don't know me... Why are you interested in my circumstances? This is not meant to sound rude... but I just have no explanation...
This is so good. As I’m approaching maturity, I’m having to reevaluate my wardrobe. I would love to know where to shop for good quality clothing. I’ve spent top dollar only to be disappointed and delighted by a less expensive version.
Gracias por los excelentes consejos, siempre hago limpieza de armario y si que realmente uno se da cuenta de la ropa que no usas y no nos queda otra que obsequiarlos.
I recently discovered your channel and so far I am enjoying your videos. However, as a woman with a 'pear shaped' body', I disagree with your take on skinny jeans and not wearing a belt. I don't mind showing off my shape when I need to but does it in a way that is classy and comfortable. In our culture, this shape is admirable and I have come to love what I have as an individual who as a younger person, hated my look because of what we were shown on mainstream American television. I will continue to look at your presentations as you do show some beautiful content.
Style is always about personal preference and what you feel confident wearing. If you love skinny jeans or wearing a belt then I say go for it! When I talk about body types these are just general recommendations.
I have watched you for many years and have invested in quality item, specifically blazers. I have a couple J Crew schoolboy blazers that I don't think are on trend. Should these be an item I should purge or just store away because it usually comes back around again?
Ha! Ha! I am lucky if I can find something that fits and that I can afford. Hence I am now altering old clothes to cover my expanding, hypothyroid body!
Hello, I'm 69 years old and I seem to have lost my shape! I'm 5'2" and my bust and waste seemed o have become one have! Please can you help me with some advice 🙏. Many thanks Helen.
The shape and fruit way of defining your shape is not the best way to define what types of clothing will look best on someone. So many content creators use these simple ways of defining a woman's shape when there are other better ways - Kibbe, Kitchener, Style Roots, etc. Other than that ... I am enjoying this channel.
There are many, many ways of slicing and dicing our body shape. The fruit system is an older version but easy to visualize and apply. Thanks for stopping by!
I just realized my bust size is the same inches as my hips? My body has always been like that since I was 15, 32x24x32. Though I have to really work on my waist due to the Pandemic😐, and get it at that perfect proportion size..I have to go down 3".
Hola buena tarde me encantan tus vídeos pero la.verdad no se mucho inglés los subtítulos se podrían poner en español soy de la ciudad de México por fis
Just dress in whatever makes you feel good. A fortune has been made selling women on fears, fears of what people think, of what they say, you need this product, or this product. Trust me, no one thinks about you as much as you do . We've wasted so much effort and money based on fear
Can you show a few pants without tucked in shirts and belts. This look does not work with my body shape. I'm going to be looking for your ideas which don't have a blazer. That look is just to formal for my life.

One accessory I did not see was having scarves. I purchased a few that have been awesome for me to accessorize outfits. Silk works best.

A wrap dress or A-line skirt in neutrals if you like quiet luxury.
I’ve been lookin for a longer Khaki a-line skirt for years. Any suggestions!

Thank you! We have to re-focus from time to time or it just gets away from us!

I agree that classic style is the best foundation of a wardrobe (of my wardrobe at least :-)).

You don't know me...

This is not meant to sound rude... but I just have no explanation...
Good tips. Thanks for the link to the style quiz.
You bet!
Oh my god, your hair is so beautiful and stylish 😍
Oh thank you!
U look great in all that u wear. I love your style it is so me
Oh thank you!
Great video, but I watched it all, and did not see info on my body type - the Inverted Triangle. What is the time marker for it?
I just briefly mentioned that body type.
You completely skipped over what flatters the inverted triangle
You have great advice. Love this. How do I get the body shape size information?
Love those tips!

Coming soon!
Maybe Chico's, Coldwater Creek (on-line only) and Nordstrom (on sale) or Nordstrom Rack.
So glad I found you
Welcome!

I lean into storing them and see if they come back in style. You can always recycle them at a future point if they don't.

What do you suggest for a body type with large breast and wide hips ?
Sounds like an hourglass.

What about dressing with a stomach from putting on weight
Could you please go back over what a round figured person should wear thank you!

Style has nothing to do with fear. It’s simply putting out best foot forward each day and looking and feeling our best.
