Hey rob, so I was playing crazy train and I heard my mum talk about sushi train and I just got this great idea that you should cover crazy train with a miku pedal and call it sushi train
Just woke up from nightshift. Saw the vid and thought" a bit self indulgent but I'll watch while having waking crap" and then Pete and Rabea came on and I SHAT!! For joy, I might add!! What a jam!! You guys are all great. Love from Oz!!
A bit of pure speculation after wading through the comments. Once upon a time all Chapman guitars were equal and the poor kids loved you like a hero. Now suddenly there are "better" ones that the poor kids can't afford. Is there now a sort of envy gap in the range? A lot of the fan boys seem to be spewing hate below. Dudes I'm going to buy one of your guitars one of these days. I've never seen anyone so genuinely excited about their own product and it's refreshing. I've looked definitely loving those ML1 moderns. The tones are amazing. I just started playing again and your gear reviews have helped me pick my equipment I'm going to start with so thank you so much!
I appreciate how open you guys are being about the Captains ownership of the company. Not that it's been a secret, but in this context it makes sure no one feels like they have been tricked.
Wow the most magical moment hearing that jam with pete and rabea. Listened to it going on 3 times now. Congrats gents! I always enjoy your stuff but this makes me consider further checking out your guitars. Happy I'm from Minnesota.
I wasn't even considering one of these but got a chance to play one recently. I was really blown away by the quality, especially at the asking price. So now I own a ML1 Pro Modern and I'm having a blast with it.
Rabea and Pete were amazing! And can we just take some time to appreciate that awesome decision of colouring the back of the ML1 Pro in black as well! The neck looks great
Hey chappers! I love your guitars, mty ml-1 bea, is one of all time favorites guitars ive ever owned and ive owned instruments worth 4 times as much. My question is are you guys ever planning on adding the neck specs to the website? like measurements like neck thickness and nut width ?
OMG What just happened? I actually shed a tear during that first jam. It was so exquisite! I wish I had that’ track on vinyl. Pete and Bea you are amazing! And love the guitars.
In California, these have been remarkably difficult to get a hold of. I think that speaks volumes to the quality. I finally got my mitts on one, will be here in just under a week. It's kind of funny... watching for over 10 years makes me somehow feel a part of the journey... all the voting and excitement... Everyone has certainly put in tons and tons of hard work over the years... I am proud of everyone. And I will be proud to be finally playing Chapman guitars. Cheers!
I want to sincerely thank you for the quality in your work. Two days ago, I got my very first guitar, the Chapman ML1 Standard and I am really excited to enter the guitar realm with it.
You are both the reason I started playing guitar and i would like to thank you very much and am absolutely amazed by the new chapmans and their quality and will hopefully own one once i save up enough
Being bias is totally fine, honestly. If you weren't completely stoked about something you've slaved over for years then there's something wrong. Also, I follow your channel, so I am bias towards you being bias
Hey Rob, PLEASE don't take this the wrong way. I admire you so much and mean no disrespect. The reason I subscribed around 5 years is because of a jam you & Lee shared (PRS SE Mark Tremonti & SE 245 Demo). That jam was so melodic & soulful it actually inspired me to begin learning to play lead guitar (Oh and I also bought the 245 because of that video). Sure, I love watching these videos for the Gear Reviews and Comedic banter you & Lee share with each other. However, It's been a while since you've inspired me to play. Lately it's been the Cameos from Bea & Pete thats kept me around.. Long comment put short, please care about the viewers as much as you care about shredding! (Don't get me wrong shredding is awesome) But I can only stand so much 2-handed tapping before I fast-forward to see if Bea & Pete are gonna be in the video. Love ya Rob, I mean no disrespect, keep making videos!!
I own a ML1 CAP10 America from the Korean factory and it is an absolute charm. One of the best guitars I own and has seen significantly more play time than the others since I got it. Can't wait to get my hands on some of the new Pro series.
C M yeah.... while I love Rob and Lee and everyone and all the guitars look great.... I feel they really stepped away from what made the brand great to begin with. The whole concept was collaborative design (no longer. they came out with tons more models and changes without voting) and to make the best playing feeling guitar for the cheapest price without sacrificing quality (now they make a cheap model and expensive model like every other guitar company). oh well... popularity changed everything :(
Chris Beal oh yeah, they still have the same spirit. But definitely not the same... feels more like the major brands way of making a product in my opinion :(
Great that Lee and Rob gave Pete a guitar... ought to give him a couple of percentage points in the biz! Huge respect for Pete's skills and contributions to the channel(s).
Hi Folks, will Chapman be coming to more UK retailers than Andertons? Much as I would love to take Lees advice and get to a store and see them in the flesh they area quite a long way away from myself and a lot of other people.
I absolutely hate the way people are comenting wether they could get another brand for that price, like If Chapman ment to be "better" than other brands or something, they're just in their own way into guitar making, and if you take a good look, you can't ask for a better guitar at that price, you just choose what you like at that point. Seems like I'm one of the few people here that absolutely love the way this guitars can do everything, looking forward to get one of these one day :)
hahahaha.......chap guitars were meant to be affodable with decent specs.every other name brand guitar kills the chappie at this price. plus most people buying the guitar will never have had a chance to play it.and check out the chapman guitars website and from there, give me the price of any chapman guitar.
They look and seem like a great guitar, deffinitly giving me and Schecter/LTD vibe. No wonder since they're made in the same factory. Sadly... The price, No deal. An ML1 Pro is about $1500 Canadian. For that money I can get an american Strat or tele, Mexican Charvels, Gibson V, Explorer, LP Studio, high-end Ibanez's, pro series Jackson's and high-end PRS SE's For about $100-300 less. Even high end Ltds, Schecters are about 300-500 cheaper. Guessing the exporting and shipping fees are the killer
Ok......I have been playing guitar since I was 13 (I'm 52 now!!) I've had LOADS of guitars (not showin' off) but I have just ordered an ML 1 pro (that I won't receive before the beginning of july) without ever having played a Chapman guitar. That is a first for me!! I just want to thank Rob (and all at Chapman guitars) for their commercial look-out insofar that they want to make high speck guitars for an affordable price. Thank you, THANK YOU and again THANK YOU!!! Keep on rockin'
Shame Anderton's is the only dealer in the UK. If i was in the position to buy a new guitar, I'd love to check them out because they look great, but that wouldn't be possible with Anderton's being so far away
Clearly, no one in the comments has played a Gibson from the last 5 years. They're trash for the money. Not bad guitars, but terrible for the price you're paying
I think everyone has flights of fancy when they imagine that their Gibson was carved by some grizzled 75 year old wood worker in a barn in Memphis, spending days sanding and shaping some unique piece of wood that was felled by hand from a tree in the hinterlands. Meanwhile back at the factory the guitar was spewed out by a CNC machine that will cut 1000's of bodies with nary a inkling of character or micron of difference.
Zach Pfeif ya it really is a shame. however the deal with most of them is that they are in need of a simple set up. I got a 2017 lp tribute used that had been set up, and upgraded with locking tuners and new pickups for $750 and it turned out to be an incredible quality instrument
It is getting difficult to find a decent recent Gibson for sure but it is possible and I still think the custom shop gear is worth the money if you have it however its hard to justify £3500 for one when you can go find a great guitar for £900+
2 awesome Guitars! Love the way you guys improved your range of guitars and also the new designs. I hope I can get one of these new ML1's and make it to one of my workhorses. I think the have the absolute potential for it. A floating trem or so would be amazing but lets see what the future brings. Keep on the good work!
I really wanted one of the new Pro Series when I saw them unveiled at NAMM, but then I saw the prices. I could just get a Kiesel for as much as some of these, do my own custom build and everything.
Nice! That jamming between Rab and Pete was just magical! Oo And someone in the editing department had too much fun with the coffee mugs! This totally made me giggle... ^_^
Chase Flowers you know what as long as Pete's in on the game I can't watch him anymore either. Too bad because he can play. He's the only really good guitarist there tbh. But he's ok with the "game". I'm surprised but he needs a job so...
A month ago I didn't know this channel existed. A week ago I didn't know that Rob Chapman, AKA "Chappers" made his own line of guitars. One day ago, I bought my first Chapman ML1 Pro guitar in Lunar. It's a great guitar and I look forward to learning how to play. I'm taking a trip to the UK this summer and with any luck, I hope to purchase a British Standard Series ML2.
Yeah, I'm not convinced. I'm going to need Bea and Pete to demonstrate every single guitar in the range. In every color. Oh, and I can't always watch RUclips, so if you could record, mix, and cut it all in downloadable form, then I could listen to them jam all d-- I mean, make a decision at some point...
It is so nice to see people not trying to make a Les Paul/Telecaster copy. I think Chapman has their own sound. Too bad there are not any here in Virginia. I'm interested.
Peanut butter and jelly. Bagels and cream cheese. Hot dogs and mustard. Bea and "Danish Sexy Chords" Pete...Some things just go together.... Good luck with the axes boys. Only one comment: while cool aesthetics for the Hipshot open tuners, I gotta say locking tuners would probably be more appropriate [and stable]...
People complain about the prices and the unbranded guitar parts, but what I see (and hear) are some beautifully made and great sounding guitars. There may be better and worse guitars in the same price ranges, I don't know, but there's something about ml-1 and ml-2 that excites and inspires me, so I'm going to get one of those two very soon.
I recently bought a Chapman ML1 Modern Standard in Tyian colour. It's for far my favourite guitar at the moment (and I got a lot of them). It really plays and sounds incredible. The neck and fretwork is fantastic. Very smooth and fast. At the beginning I thought that the neck was a bit thick as I am used to play Wizard necks and Kramer Barettas necks but then I got used and now I love it. I feel that it sounds better. It has a lot of sustain. It came set up and ready to play with 10s but I prefer 9s so I changed it and after a couple of adjustments to the truss rod and bridge saddles it plays unreal. I Highly recommend buying one.
Sorry, but I'm not really convinced... I don't want to sound too negative and be "that guy" (because I like you guys), so I won't elaborate more than I just don't think in my mind that Chapman Guitars is nowhere near (yet?) to be a guitar brand close to others such Fender, Gibson, PRS, Schecter, Jackson, Ibanez, etc... The price jump in Chapman Guitars might work for some fans, but overall, for general basic buyers, if they have to choose between a Chapman Pro and another guitar from brands listed above, some even made in the US, I think it will be no doubt they will go for the famous brand. When Chapman guitars were very affordable, it was a good base for people that even wanted to customized them and because there was no much competition in this price spot. But over $1,200 or $1,300, there's plenty plenty of choices that will definitely buy before to get a Chapman.
Phil Smith agreed. Im looking to buy one of the standard lineup which is still good value, but the pro lineup is kinda overpriced as its competing with well-established models from other brands (american specials, Classic 60s, sg standard Ts)
I agree whole-heartedly. I bought one of the ML3 Traditionals and it was $800, taxes in. The current prices have you saying no to many other long standing brands. It's like the price increase on Squier Classic Vibes and Vintage Modified. You were getting a great guitar at an unbelievable price. The new guitars in Chapman's line have shot up over a $1000 here in Canada and for $1000 you're saying no to Fenders, Gibson's, and most other established brands. Don't forget that these will also have NO resale value if you don't end up wanting to keep it. Unlike established brands, this these will never increase in value beyond the novelty of them. And I too love these guys and both channels. But... the pricing means it's not a great deal anymore and you'll absolutely look elsewhere, unless you're an uber fan.
Am I the only one who can't stop looking at that sunburst Les Paul in the background? Love the new look for the ML1 pro too!! 😊 Bea and Petes jam was incredible as well!!!!!!!! Great vid 👍👍👍👍👍👍
It's a difficult sell - this one is great but this one is greater but that doesn't mean the other is less great ha ha. Hats off and good luck to both Lee and Rob for their business acumen and hard work in carving a niche in a busy market.
Ilari Manninen Fender. Since they replaced American standard with American Pro youd think they would have done it. They did for strats but not for anything else
It's not so much the initial price that gets me, but the longterm value that makes me nervous. I could get an Ibanez Prestige, American Fender, any number of guitars in that thousand dollar range that would actually feel like an investment that has some worth down the road if I ever needed to part ways with it. I don't feel that with Chapman. I see them going used for major drops in value, and it just feels like throwing money away in that case.
The Pro range, I agree. I wouldn't gamble on one of those at the moment. The Standard ones don't seem like too big of a risk though. Then again "affordable" guitars aren't really an investment the same way higher tier guitars are. Only time will tell though. I feel like, give it a year or two, we'll see a lot of these new Chapmans on the secondhand market. Chapman will come out with a newer product line, and these ones will depreciate by a lot. I agree, buy something that's still going to be worth something after a while.
This illustrates something any seasoned guitar player has known for ages. All things considered, you can compromise on the guitar and survive but tone-wise, you'll always pay a price when you compromise on the amp. That H&K would make a Squire Hot Rails peel the paint off the walls. Fantastic amp. As for the newbie Chaps, I'm favoring Bea's updated sig model for its righteous simplicity.
Well, I would buy a chapman but with the price increase and removal of the Seymour Duncans it seems that the quality has gone down and the price has gone up
So just because they're not using Seymour Duncans anymore, they're worse? Even though now they have glow in the dark side dots, a lot of guitars have neck through and maple cap construction, hard cases, and rolled neck edges?
Mark Seymour Who said the pickups were inferior anyway? Maybe you'll try them and they'll better fit the tone you're looking for? And you really pick one thing out of the list I gave with a crap reason why it's not good. I know that if I was a gigging musician in a dimly lit venue, I'd find it useful, because, I don't know if you know this, but that's what they're there for. I'd be fine with them not being there because I don't have a use for them, but I know guitarists who wish they had that on their guitar.
+gamer7138 Nobody cares about SDs. If you think that a pickup determines "quality" then that is sad. PRS , Kiesel and Gibsons use their own pickups and they kill in terms of quality, now that Chapman is doing the same thing they are accused of lowering quality (back then the early Chapman guitars were problematic too).
That moment when Korean guitars (Chapman especially) prices just sky rockets, and something like a Standard full size Gibson Explorer drops between 20-40% in price, where as Chapman/the korean guitars are like 30-40% more..........
Zyx Indeed. And, despite the corporate philosophy Gibson have, I'd prefer a Gibson any day of the week. 'Likeability' plays a huge part over obnoxious, third person [self] referral product placements.
By the looks of it now, the Gibson is a good 40% cheaper than a Ghostfret Pro. Not only is the price more tempting, but the Original design can't be beaten over a more modern alike design.
Personally, it doesn't bother me where they're made, so long as they're top quality. However, I do like originality and as far as I'm concerned, Chapman Guitars are just shapes of other companies', which is disconcerting somewhat. Yes, I get the idea of being inspired by a particular shape, but there's also having originality, too. They're just not original.
Checked ml1 pro just a couple of hours ago in Times Square guitar center after Robs and Beas Clinic. I honestly thought he guitar would be mediocre, but oh my good god!!! I just couldn't stop playing the thing. And I couldn't believe it is worth the money it is worth, felt no less then my 2 grand PRS! Love it, definitely my next guitar!!!
Whenever you guys bring up that a guitar has X feature or doesn't have X feature because it is designed for beginners, for example the dots, I think to myself, any 4 thousand dollar guitar has it, any virtuoso's guitar has it, I am not a beginner but I would buy this affordable guitar simply because I can get a great product for less. But saying a guitar has something or doesn't have something because it is designed for students, doesn't make sense at all. You don't get rich at the same rate you get better at guitar....
Nathan Carrille I get you, but look at the money most of us spend on an iPhone and replace it after 8 months, where as best part of a grand on the ml1 pro? And you have it for years.
you completely missed point, I said two things, one: it doesn't make sense to say they put dots because of beginners when any 4thousand dollar guitar has dots. Two: you can't design a guitar for beginners just because it is under 1000 pounds. Professionals musicians or gigging musicians also struggle with money and need affordable quality instruments.
What is on a $4k guitar is not relevant to their decision here. They had inexpensive guitars with no dots. They realized beginners, who tend to buy inexpensive guitars, would find the dots helpful so they added them. That an experienced player would also buy a more affordable guitar is also irrelevant when discussing features they added for beginners. Adding a feature for a beginner doesn't exclude others from using the guitar. They are not saying the guitar is ONLY suitable fore beginners.
The thing is,Made in Korea Schecters(same price category) come either with brand-name pickups(S.Duncan or EMG) or with their own,Made in USA Schecter pickups(they have various humbucker models).Keep in mind,Schecter started as a pickup company, like S.Duncan,DiMarzio,EMG etc.before they went on making guitars.
I think the 'guitarnivore' pickups before were fairly decent. I couldn't understand the price jump either. I always thought they were a mid priced before but now they are asking silly money I don't think there is any justification. They're opting to go for 'pro' range guitars when the roots of the company were collaborative design and affordable. Lost their way and seeing only £££ and $$$
i would love to have a ML-1 pro ever since i saw the 2017 chapman guitar reveal video with bea going over the new line of pro series and revamped standard. i love the satin look and the through neck. just a really well built guitar (from the looks of it and hearing the materials used etc) and just looks like it would be a dream to play and all around a beautiful guitar, great job rob and all the guys associated, chapman guitars have come a long way and i like the direction! keep it up
Why watch this video, even though it's the most biased video ever? Because you guys are great, finding a new video is a like a little present. I love you guys. I love you so much I watch all of your videos even when it's on something I couldn't be less interested in buying. But can't wait to get my hands on a new Chapman guitar. Don't change or add colors, just make them available across the range. The purple MLV color on an ML1 would be eminence.
This video comes alive when Pete and Bea start playing.....every single comment above and below about how great these two are together is spot on 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I'm finding that this is an extremely subjective preference. I've seen a lot of people making similar comments to yours, that the glossy finishes look "cheap," and the satin finishes look nicer and more expensive. But my own opnion is that the gloss finishes look nicer and more professional, while the satin finishes look more "hobbyist," like they were made in someone's garage workshop. There seem to be about an equal number of people who feel the way you do as there are those who feel the way I do, and it's extremely polarizing both ways - either you love the satin and hate the gloss, or you love the gloss and hate the satin, but there's not much in between. As for me, I just ordered an ML1 Pro Modern in the satin Lunar finish (just like the one in this video) because I prefer the specs of the Pro range, but I'm having to really try to learn to like the satin finish. I may like it better when I get the guitar in hand and see it in person, but at the moment, I'm much more attracted to shiny Standard look.
Forgot Schecter used Chapman pickups... or tuners... or bridges. Also forgot they said this was super original and not just their take on a superstrat.
ok, so they moved to indonesia to make guitar more affordable... oh c'mon.... price almost didn't change, and you move from well known factory to ... actually where? meh....
virtualfi on a old Rob Chapman forum post Rob commented that Chapman Guitar trades in dollars and since the £ has plummeted against the $ it has stripped all profit out of Chapman guitars. so that would explain why the Indonesian guitars are the same price as the Korean made standard range. Maybe if the £ recovers prices will drop but I cannot see it now.
Thomogon verbatim that's what rob said. you cant deny that if you deal in dollars and the value of the pound drops you make less money. that's fucking fact mate. The business I work for has excatly the same problem. We buy goods from Japan in dollars but we have lost all profit from it. Brexit or not finances don't lie.
I didnt really like the look of most of the older range of chapmans, but I think the ml1 pro is fucking gorgeous you did an absolute master job and it sounds and sustain like crazy. continue down that path my friends! congrats!
Soon buying a new guitar, I might just give up on having a carved top just to buy the ML1 Modern Standard! Still thinking, soon I'll go to a showroom to try them out before making my mind up I'm really hesitant on buying a guitar in that price, because I'm used to replacing the whole electronics on arrival - It seems I won't need to do so, but still...
2 mins in and I'm mostly impressed by the disappearing mug.

Harry Muff same, lol.
Love the Coffee Mugs!
I was just about to say this.
I always wondered who would be in the Canon Rumors / Rob Chapman Venn diagram. Now I know, it's just the two of us.
Pete and Bea need to have their own record together. They absolutely kill it every time
Edit: 242 likes, the people want it! C'mon guys
agreed
MrSean2106 agreed
MrSean2106 Bea is working on some Solo stuff, DP might feature?

Beautiful guitars guys!

Rabea has such a delicate touch on the cleaner bits his dynamics are always my favorite part of his playing
same
I checked out the ML-1 Pro at NAMM and was super impressed. They play as nice as they look and they look gorgeous in person.
First Act is the best!
Hey rob, so I was playing crazy train and I heard my mum talk about sushi train and I just got this great idea that you should cover crazy train with a miku pedal and call it sushi train
He did alrdy, in a video..
Pete & Bea need their own "Jam Channel". THAT was EPIC !!
oh and the neck joint on the pro is fhucking beautiful
Joel Day there is no joint
Wow the one that Rob is playing looks gorgeous!
Pete and Rebea at 19:30.
you're welcome
Damn I'm sold on that should of opened with that (rob and Lee you are still fab players just this more to my taste)
They where always on the high side, this is new where they are making stuff everyone can afford..

Kilty MacBagpipe yea right. 😂
Wow the most magical moment hearing that jam with pete and rabea. Listened to it going on 3 times now. Congrats gents! I always enjoy your stuff but this makes me consider further checking out your guitars. Happy I'm from Minnesota.
Pete and Rabea can play like hell, both lads absolutely ripping it up.
I wasn't even considering one of these but got a chance to play one recently. I was really blown away by the quality, especially at the asking price. So now I own a ML1 Pro Modern and I'm having a blast with it.
so when is the custom shop coming? :D
Absolutely blown away by Pete's and Bea's playing. I will be in my room practising for the next 2 weeks.
Men Binal here comming in with a like!
Hi
My personal favourite, Anne Leederton
Dxcellent Erumming
Thank you mate, i've worked hard on it for years
I genuinely read that as "Ben Minal" so many times...
It's cool to see how each have their own styles. Love it.
Gawd, those disintegrating mugs are amazing XD
Rabea and Pete were amazing! And can we just take some time to appreciate that awesome decision of colouring the back of the ML1 Pro in black as well! The neck looks great
Hey chappers!
I love your guitars, mty ml-1 bea, is one of all time favorites guitars ive ever owned and ive owned instruments worth 4 times as much. My question is are you guys ever planning on adding the neck specs to the website? like measurements like neck thickness and nut width ?
These will be added this week!
Thank you!
Chapman Guitars shut the fuck up
OMG What just happened? I actually shed a tear during that first jam. It was so exquisite! I wish I had that’ track on vinyl. Pete and Bea you are amazing! And love the guitars.
I noticed that the guitars are now weight relieved, can they be price relieved as well?
Did you watch and listen they told the prices..
In California, these have been remarkably difficult to get a hold of. I think that speaks volumes to the quality. I finally got my mitts on one, will be here in just under a week. Pete and Rabea playin together is absolute Magic! :)
I want to sincerely thank you for the quality in your work. Two days ago, I got my very first guitar, the Chapman ML1 Standard and I am really excited to enter the guitar realm with it.
ahhh so now its made in my country, but ironically not distributed there
Check out Rob's Facebook posts, he just toured the Indonesian factory. I believe he mentioned that there will be a local distributor very soon.
ohh dang, sweet if thats really true
And if stealing doesn't work out you probably could just walk in, test a few, buy one and be happy with it.
they only sell these at nuansa musik in Jakarta and only some models not all of them
You are both the reason I started playing guitar and i would like to thank you very much and am absolutely amazed by the new chapmans and their quality and will hopefully own one once i save up enough
nice post rob
Being bias is totally fine, honestly. If you weren't completely stoked about something you've slaved over for years then there's something wrong. Also, I follow your channel, so I am bias towards you being bias
This had some of the best jam sessions I've ever heard on this channel
"We spent aaaages deciding on the colours....black or not so black, you get the whole rainbow with chapman...."
Hey Rob, PLEASE don't take this the wrong way. I admire you so much and mean no disrespect. Danish Pete is one of my favourite human beings.
I own a ML1 CAP10 America from the Korean factory and it is an absolute charm. One of the best guitars I own and has seen significantly more play time than the others since I got it. Can't wait to get my hands on some of the new Pro series.
When is the left handed vote coming?
Daniele Pessina None of these were voted on... in clear conflict with the original philosophy of the brand
C M yeah.... while I love Rob and Lee and everyone and all the guitars look great.... I feel they really stepped away from what made the brand great to begin with. The whole concept was collaborative design (no longer. they came out with tons more models and changes without voting) and to make the best playing feeling guitar for the cheapest price without sacrificing quality (now they make a cheap model and expensive model like every other guitar company). oh well... popularity changed everything :(
More like marketing bruh
Hulk Slayer They did spend over 1.5 years looking through comments and suggestions. So I think the spirit of the collaborative design is still there.
Much as I would love to take Lees advice and get to a store and see them in the flesh they area quite a long way away from myself and a lot of other people.
nothing is that far away in England
He could live in Ireland, Scotland , british isle..
The U.K isn't just England dummy..
Keep on rockin'
what high specs.......they changed everything now to increase their profit margin
Shame Anderton's is the only dealer in the UK. If i was in the position to buy a new guitar, I'd love to check them out because they look great, but that wouldn't be possible with Anderton's being so far away
hey Rob and CAPT! I'm in Cali and im totally buying one!!!!!! Love both you guys, hope both the channels just keep growing.
Big follower here. But imho for 1000 pounds the bridge should also be hipshot. Nice guitars. All the best.
The top on the Pro is something else. So beautifully carved!
I'd almost rather play Epiphone .
Oo
And someone in the editing department had too much fun with the coffee mugs! This totally made me giggle... ^_^
I need to see a Danish Pete sig model.
That last (Rabea and Pete) impro: 30:06 Yeah man
The end bit where Bea played the standard ml1 impressed me the most! Sounds like a really good guitar to me. I'd like so much to try one!
When will you release the new BASS line (MBL1 e MBL1-5)?
Bea and Petes jam was incredible as well!!!!!!!! Great vid 👍👍👍👍👍👍
NO HANK HILL IN THE COMMENTS! WOHOOOOOO! FUCK YEA!
Jeanluc Wilkins 😂
It's a difficult sell - this one is great but this one is greater but that doesn't mean the other is less great ha ha. Hats off and good luck to both Lee and Rob for their business acumen and hard work in carving a niche in a busy market.
How come you never did a vid on the 2017 teles?
And Jaguar, Jazzmaster
provenelk Do you mean Fender or Chapman? I'm sure they'll make videos of the whole Chapman range at least.
Ilari Manninen Fender. Since they replaced American standard with American Pro youd think they would have done it. They did for strats but not for anything else
provenelk Yeah, that's a bit odd
they did do one...
This was the best commercial ever. Love you guys.
Mr. Brian barely worth anything used and nobody's buying them.
This illustrates something any seasoned guitar player has known for ages. All things considered, you can compromise on the guitar and survive but tone-wise, you'll always pay a price when you compromise on the amp. That H&K would make a Squire Hot Rails peel the paint off the walls. Fantastic amp. As for the newbie Chaps, I'm favoring Bea's updated sig model for its righteous simplicity.
pls do a ML 2 standard vs pro video :o
thanks for this guy's I bought an ml3 last week and I'm more than happy to wait for it after hearing this .. thank you
"I just chugged I'm sorry" - captain
Hahahaha I died
They all sound excellent in the hands of such fine players. Congrats!
I love the look of it. Not a fan of the headstock though
The Illuminati so happy I'm not the only one that doesn't like the headstock.
The Illuminati, Yeah, I can't deal with that headstock either. :(
That jam with Rabea and Pete is the best I've heard them together! Really amazing!!! I need a chapman now 0.o
Well, I would buy a chapman but with the price increase and removal of the Seymour Duncans it seems that the quality has gone down and the price has gone up
THANK YOU
Just stating things I see
So just because they're not using Seymour Duncans anymore, they're worse?
PRS , Kiesel and Gibsons use their own pickups and they kill in terms of quality, now that Chapman is doing the same thing they are accused of lowering quality (back then the early Chapman guitars were problematic too).
what a beautiful, gorgeous style of ML1 Pro! made me cry of joy)
too glossy finish on standard one
Two years and still coming back for the Pete and Bea jam 😍
Zyx which makes me personally happier I managed to get a b stock new ghost fret from andertons for 400 quid after trading in two epiphones.
I mean very few guitars are original shapes anymore. Even stuff like Reverend are pretty obviously based off classic shapes
So they shouldn't think of the needs of beginners when designing guitars?
you completely missed point, I said two things, one: it doesn't make sense to say they put dots because of beginners when any 4thousand dollar guitar has dots.
Then why the fuck they kept the dots out of the pro series for gods sake? You see what I'm saying? Goddammit. Dots are not a feature for beginners.
My dear god whatever you've done to the sound production/gear selection on this one Keep It! Best tones you've had on that opening jam!
Quickest I've ever clicked on a video
Man, these guys skills just blow me away! such talent
So,basically it's a Schecter clone, with inferior pickups and hardware, but for the same price.
greekfreak1980 bingo- but with more entertaining RUclips content so fanboys will buy them
I rarely notice 'much' difference between how guitars sound by the yt compresses audio but those humbuckers sound dreadful.. Such a shame
Lost their way and seeing only £££ and $$$
The Pro series have hipshot bridge and tuners, ss frets, luminlay, so its basically the same as schecter except for the pickups..
i would love to have a ML-1 pro ever since i saw the 2017 chapman guitar reveal video with bea going over the new line of pro series and revamped standard. i love the satin look and the through neck. just a really well built guitar (from the looks of it and hearing the materials used etc) and just looks like it would be a dream to play and all around a beautiful guitar, great job rob and all the guys associated, chapman guitars have come a long way and i like the direction! keep it up
side note that jam sesh with Bea and Pete was awesome! i agree with the comments below they should most def make a instrumental album together
I find myself avoiding Indonesian guitars for the frets alone. I don't want to die of blood loss
I think thats a pretty big generalization, the Ibanez premium series are made in Indonesia and those frets are quite obviously rounded and smooth
I have an Indonesian Jackson soloist and it is my absolute favorite guitar out of my entire collection
The purple MLV color on an ML1 would be eminence.
need LEFTY in all Models
PageBlackmoreIommi Guitar I still wouldn't buy one though
This video comes alive when Pete and Bea start playing.....every single comment above and below about how great these two are together is spot on 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I'm sorry but those gloss tops on the standard range a disgusting, it would be nicer if it was just a basic color
Usually I love a good satin finish, but I can't stand the satin of the Chapman for some reason. Love the standard though.
I prefer the gloss to the satin as well for the same reason. The satin does give off that "hobbyist" look as well to me.
The dane and rabea rocking was exceptional! Holy crap, guys... bravo.
This is literally a schecter c series guitar :D
Forgot Schecter used Chapman pickups... or tuners... or bridges. Also forgot they said this was super original and not just their take on a superstrat.
Best jam I've seen in one of these vids by far, amazing playing from Bea and pete
ok, so they moved to indonesia to make guitar more affordable... oh c'mon.... price almost didn't change, and you move from well known factory to ... actually where? meh....
virtualfi and who asked for there to be a two tiered system?
The Indonesian factory is actually the same company (WMI), just a different location.
virtualfi on a old Rob Chapman forum post Rob commented that Chapman Guitar trades in dollars and since the £ has plummeted against the $ it has stripped all profit out of Chapman guitars. so that would explain why the Indonesian guitars are the same price as the Korean made standard range. Maybe if the £ recovers prices will drop but I cannot see it now.
Let's all blame Brexit like the shitty RUclipsrs we are :3
Thomogon verbatim that's what rob said. you cant deny that if you deal in dollars and the value of the pound drops you make less money. that's fucking fact mate. The business I work for has excatly the same problem. We buy goods from Japan in dollars but we have lost all profit from it. Brexit or not finances don't lie.
I didnt really like the look of most of the older range of chapmans, but I think the ml1 pro is fucking gorgeous you did an absolute master job and it sounds and sustain like crazy. continue down that path my friends! congrats!
6:58 hey hold on that mug doesn't look right
Soon buying a new guitar, I might just give up on having a carved top just to buy the ML1 Modern Standard!
Still thinking, soon I'll go to a showroom to try them out before making my mind up
I'm really hesitant on buying a guitar in that price, because I'm used to replacing the whole electronics on arrival - It seems I won't need to do so, but still...
DynaZor im thinking to buy one too. Can u tell me ur opinion after u try ?
I'll try to remember!
anyway the guitar I would buy eventually would most certainly get a post on my new blog :P so if I forget you can look there
