I Left For The Army 2 weeks after Seeing this Concert in 1986 at Alpine Valley Wisconsin the Memories carried me through 3 combat tours,Watching the Wall come down and just life in General.
Alpine was a fucking blast back in the day. Sitting in the parking lot, smoking graphics near the keg and grill. Cops never bothering anyone as long as you kept your shit together. Went to so many shows there and can remember them all, vaguely.
my girlfriend ( wife now ) and I were @ Alpine , saw the same show. Had seen them twice before , Madison, and Cotton Bowl... Always very good , they were never better for us , as they were at that show. WE really miss them touring
Spent alot of my younger day's at Alpine Valley. So many great shows. Concert's nowadays just don't compare. And these guy's weren't autotuned or lip syncing. Pure talent.
@@gregoryhunts3006 ..I agree. Triumph crushed Alpine as well. We have not been down to E Troy for some time , but saw many a killer show there. We did however , miss SRVs last show ever there..I will go to my grave knowing that I saw him twice , entire shows , where my wife only caught him in a partial one time. We see Samantha Fish tonight in Madtown. LONG LIVE ALPINE !
Yeah, Alpine in the 80s was epic. Triumph, with Mountain opening for them, in may of 85, Thunder Seven Tour, with the million dollar lazer light show, was my first concert at Alpine. I was a junior in high school, and my ears were still ringing on that Tuesday after a Saturday show. Saw another couple dozen shows there in the next 7 or 8 years, and now today I live just 10 minutes from Alpine.
I saw Rick Emmett play a solo show in a small setting about 18-20 years ago. The guy is probably one of the best singer/guitar players ever. Such an amazing voice and I think underrated greatly as a guitar player.
+Keith---Well said. I have been saying the same thing since 1981. Only a few exist; Dave Meniketti, Randy Jackson (Zebra), Richie Kotzen, John Sykes and Kendall Bechtel being a few off the top of my head. You want to see underrated check out Kendall's Fifth Angel stuff.
+Motoroil---Rik was not given the attention or respect he deserved/deserves because the music biz is run by a shit storm of scum bags. Not to mention most of the public walking around on this 3rd dimensional plane have their entire head up their ass. Musicians (myself included) always respected Rik. Look at the man in my Avatar (Criss Oliva), he was also shunned and ignored by the biz and the public and he is probably one of the best guitarists of all time. His tone will decimate most. Another guy who got treated like shit was Gary Richrath from REO Speedwagon. That guy could really play. Dont get me started on the absolute greatness of Rory Gallagher and Paul Kosoff. People dont even know them.
Same situation for me; years ago he played a solo gig in a now-defunct club here in Las Vegas. Phenomenal show! After the gig he shook hands, chatted, took pictures with fans, Rik is just the absolute definition of class and top-notch, monstrous, musicianship! Triumph NEEDS to be in the RRHOF!

I saw them and could not understand why they never came back to Houston afterwards. The hall was packed that night. This song was the reason I attended the concert and bought the album. More than 40 years later and love it to this day!!!
Almost 40 years later and this still rocks... I was a sophomore in high school when this came out and bands like Triumph, Rush, and Asia ruled the radio dial. When there were actually DJ's playing and selecting music...
I have always loved Triumph. Such a under rated and slept on band. I don’t feel like dudes like this ever get their dues. I’ve been rocking vinyls lately and allied forces by them is killer. I will always love Triumph.
Absolutely loved this song when I was a girl. It really described how I felt - feel - about music. Kids today have no idea what it was like to have to wait to hear the songs you loved, unless you went out and bought the records. Which we did, of course, but mostly we waited to tape what we loved.

Absolutely... a very underrated band. They were probably underrated because they didn't fit easily into one particular music genre. They weren't pop they weren't heavy metal they were more hard rock with their own particular niche sound. Rik Emmett's voice also is very unique.
Seen them in concert in the late 80's, Got the tickets from local radio station when I was walking to work I seen their van parked and as I walked by I said hello and the dj stopped me and handed me an envelope and told me to have a great time. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

That's just what I was thinking while listening to the video while scrolling the comments. You just don't hear performances today that sound just like the radio!
That's because so much of what they call music today is what a lot of old-timers refer to as "mouse music". In other words, it's constructed on a computer... using many clicks on a mouse. Back in the day, musicians could actually play and singers could actually sing without artificial correction... so what you heard on the radio was easily duplicated on stage. Best wishes! 👨🏻🎤🎸🎼 - Max Giganteum
I will say out of ALL the concerts I have seen that have included some of the “highest rock rollers” bands-this concert of Triumph has ALWAYS been my fave! They rocked the Dallas Reunion Theatre Hall like nobody’s business! ❤️🤟🎸🥁🎤🎼

Amazing how much they sounded like their album, Whole music catalogue was just phenomenal and their greatest hits is one of my favorite albums of all time.
118 people do not have the magic power and are not young, wild and free Oh, how many hours I listened to this song as a teenager. This song was my touchstone and helped me through SO much depression. So grateful for music. It saved my life.
my favorite group ever. I listen to them every single day. I have the power of the music in me every day. without music life would be so dull and this is the best music ever made
We haven't forgotten them. Saw Rik and Dave D. in a small venue in Philly a few years ago. He is still a hell of a guitar player, one of the top in my book. Hope Rik decides to play a for a few more years, cause I'd like to see him again.
If just one person remembers and appreciates a band, That band is not forgotten. It's true Talent that gets overlooked in the Music business. Amazing bands were created in the 70's & 80's.
Saw Triumph (Rick Emmett) in Buffalo in a bar called McVans on a weekday night and there was only about 12 people in the bar. Rick blew the place away and even jumped off the stage onto our table while playing a solo, knocking our beers over. Wow. Never forgot that. They must have been playing for gas money while passing through Buffalo.
I loved triumph ❤!!!Saw them a couple of times with my best friend Kathy. WHEN I hear a Triumph song I remember being in grade seven and feeling the energy of their music it made you feel invincible!!!
Went to the concert liked Triumph..Was front and center was BLOWN AWAY how GREAT they were live..Rik Emmett even dripped a drop of sweat on me and I did not care..I left with a whole new respect for them and LOVED Triumph..STILL hands down one of the BEST concerts ever!! Good surprise there..Stellar!!
I was there ! Foggy memories of back then ... it was the 80's ... what a time to be alive , the music was great and it was everywhere and this was one of my fav concerts of all time .
Love Triumph. This band was so damn good. Rick Emmet is one of the best guitarists, vocalists in rock. And this song... MAGIC POWER is my all-time favorite song by them.
I saw them at the world series of rock at County stadium in Milwaukee. The line up was Foreigner, loverboy, 38 special, triumph, and quarterflash. Ric Emmett played a half hour guitar solo. It was a great show.
Memories of my life as a teenager. If I was ever feeling sad, mad or just something bothering me. I played this. Then my whole mood changed. I became the Rock Star. Pretending I'm out there. Made me Feel so much better. Music got the Magic Power.
My first concert ever! I married the man who took me to it, in1982, and we’re still together today.

Too small a catalog at the peak. Doesn't hold up well to the other monster 3 pieces. A good band - but IMO not a great one.

@@MaxGiganteum I've worked in radio for 30+ years...trust me when I say I am quite familiar with this. You nailed it.
When musicians had talent and music was epic!!!! These guys rock...
I miss arena rock concerts.

Oh yes. They were never to stop, right....
Crazy this song is 40 years old i was 16 the year this album came out
80s child OH Yes!
Triumph is one of the greatest live bands ever and I used Science to come to this conclusion
Oh man! I recall those days when we hoped the DJ would play our favorite song on the radio “) Great memories and music back in the day.
2023 , 60 years old , smoking a joint and listening to this gem
😂❤
What a great song. Epitomizes the 80's.
What an awesome song...I think music is definitely a place we all turn to
Hi I recommend an indie song called: 'Looking Into The Mirror' By Robert Nix
A most excellent song from my high school years... Thanks guys!
The difference between the 80's music and today's music.Every band didn't sound the same that was true musicianship
So true
I will say out of ALL the concerts I have seen that have included some of the “highest rock rollers” bands-this concert of Triumph has ALWAYS been my fave! They rocked the Dallas Reunion Theatre Hall like nobody’s business! ❤️🤟🎸🥁🎤🎼
Gosh I came for the love of this music and his voice
Then I see so many who lost someone
I have to tell you all how sorry I am,,,
I truly am .....
I pray you all find comfort and peace
🙏❤️✌️❤️😢❤️
You're right. I love his songs that I kept playing over and over again, Triumph sang wisely and beautiful songs. How are you doing Marie?
Absolutely a Great band, great vocals and melody. How is Triumph not in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame?? HOF, do the right thing and induct!!

Triumph was such a powerful band! I miss those days.
It’s been a while But I have not forgotten you Triumph
Anyone who saw this band is blessed.

I was blessed one time and I was not disappointed
118 people do not have the magic power and are not young, wild and free
Oh, how many hours I listened to this song as a teenager. This song was my touchstone and helped me through SO much depression. So grateful for music. It saved my life.
my favorite group ever. I listen to them every single day. I have the power of the music in me every day. without music life would be so dull and this is the best music ever made
Rik Emmett phenomenal guitarist. Virtuoso by any standard. Highly underrated & forgotten band. 🎸👍
Amazing bands were created in the 70's & 80's.
not forgotten... by far just ignored
Not forgotten, love Triumph
Not forgotten but definitely underappreciated.
One of my favorite Triumph songs,Rik Emmett has a great beautiful powerful voice n one of the greatest guitarists in hard rock music.😎🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸🏋️🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Was at this concert in Halifax ! This was in '87....not 2010. The entire concert was recorded for Much Music and can still be found.
Paddy This PooTube video was posted in 2010, it's not the date of the concert.
Says posted in 2017 and performed in 2010. Definitely has an 80's look to it...
Jan 8 1987, great concert !
87 hair and clothing
I’ve always been in awe of Rick Emmett’s awesome guitar playing and singing at the same time and makes it look effortless.
Wish I was there.................
grew up in buffalo. mcvans was a great place
Essona Organics what year was this?

I saw them early eighties in Memphis TN. Managed to hold on to my tic stub for years, great concert!
Jan 16 1987 Metro Center in Halifax. The whole concert was recorded and released on video. Guest Rick Santers (Santers Brothers) on rhythm guitar.
Man I love this song so much, been with me my whole life it seems.
This was a great band!! The good ole days! When rock was pure and simple, but an incredible show. They brought it!
Best light show y'all ever see
Proud to have lived during this era.
This was the soundtrack to a lot of great memories!
I was gonna say the same thing.. it almost hurts thinking about how young , wild & free I was back then., & people I’ve loved & people I’ve lost. 💞
Somebody very dear to me introduced me to this song....and I wish to God I could listen to it with her again.
Love Triumph. This band was so damn good. Rick Emmet is one of the best guitarists, vocalists in rock.
And this song... MAGIC POWER is my all-time favorite song by them.

Jesus,hits my welling eyes
triumph songs are so good they all have a hard time ending....
this song... THIS BAND got me thru some dark days in the past
THANK YOU, Rik, Mike and Gil for providing a large amount of the soundtrack to my life
I saw them at the world series of rock at County stadium in Milwaukee. The line up was Foreigner, loverboy, 38 special, triumph, and quarterflash. Ric Emmett played a half hour guitar solo. It was a great show.
Just seen Foreigner last year & they still sound great...

Mark Greene love this song it takes me back
Started listening to Triumph back on the early 80's when I was in high school. Very underrated band. I miss those years. Back when hard rock ruled.
Memories of my life as a teenager. If I was ever feeling sad, mad or just something bothering me. I played this. Then my whole mood changed. I became the Rock Star. Pretending I'm out there. Made me Feel so much better. Music got the Magic Power.
Saw clip 40 years later...perfect!!!! Thank you Ric!
