Wasn’t Zverev also complaining that the trophy was too bright, during French final?… I had been rooting for him after his devastating injury, but he’s being revealed more & more as a whiny bitch. Simply doesn’t know how to lose - in a bad way. He should have addressed whatever issues he had with Taylor’s box privately, instead of making his rival’s big moment about himself. Such behavior only serves to take away from his play, which has been very impressive this year.
Sasha has been spoiled from the very beginning - from his family & media. He is surrounded by "yes people" his only final @ the US Open against Thiem - he choked.
Give me a break! Ridiculous Zverev. Sour grapes. Excellent mental comeback. Great job Taylor! I love how he says Zverev starting limping when he was down a break in the 5th. No slam for Zverev ever. After today- I just don’t think he has it in him.
Congrats to both of you! Zverev, I saw your match the same every grand slam. You were two games ahead, then you rested and thought to yourself I'm going to win him. Come on, you should stop that pattern." You should excel from there and don't look back.
Sour grapes. Zverev would do himself favors by being humble, not overhyping (or making unnecessary excuses for losses based on) injuries, and not calling attention to something that "the box" now knows rattles him. Zverev you are hard to like, and I think it's because you love yourself so much.
I saw her stand up & cheer but disrespectful I didn’t see that! She was cheering for Fritz & why not she was sitting in his box! Zverev is a good guy & I hated them playing now I wished they were playing in the finals! I hated Zverev hurt his knee! Congratulations on your win Fritz👏
(1)It's likely that Zverev beats women so confidently calling him a "good guy" is a bit strange. (2) He's exaggerating his injury. Djokovic shows much more grace in defeat than Zverev. Meanwhile, people (*cough* European haters) despise Fritz because his girlfriend is off-putting. Get your priorities straight.
@@donnafielder6027 Donna, I love your remarks. Others feel a need to just be negative even though they don’t know any of the people they mentioned, as if they were there. Especially when they make blanket statements. While I like both players, I am a fan of Sasha and have seen him being gracious many times in losing. So I wonder if others have selective memories.
The whole player box is just super cringe with the first pumping etc, who tf even cares about them, the camera after every point goes to the player box and its annoying af.
We need to cycle junior players between surfaces. They develop their habits when they're young. If they don't play clay, they don't get used to dealing with pushers or point construction, and if they only play on clay then they have serve issues later down the line- clay courters often have subpar serves. They need to have experience training on all surfaces intensively to be the best they can be.
I like Taylor's idea of a "Super Nine/Master's 1000" grass-court event somewhere in the calendar, @4:40-ish; the grass season simply isn't long enough these days. It's must be hard to imagine for younger fans the idea that less than fifty years ago, three of the four slams were played on grass, and now it's difficult to impossible for a player to enter three grass court tournaments in a year! That being noted, the logistics of hosting a 96 man- and woman-draw probably near that of a nightmare, what with the calendar already being packed with (mostly) clay and hard-court events, and then to say nothing of the task of cultivating and maintaining several grass tennis courts at said would-be event. Still, it's a nice idea...
lol did zverev watch the same box? because when did it become a distraction to have your opponent’s box be too loud? if anything, the crowd were backing taylor more
For those of you who complain about a woman cheering, try fixing the double standard by also mentioning the old guy in Machac box during his match with Medvedev at Roland Garros this year 😊😊
At 4:33, to me, there is no grass court season... There's Wimbledon and its few "tune up" tournaments, but that's about it. Adding an M1K would help make it a season. But then please shorten the hard courts some to balance it out and not cripple the players.
Is anyone surprised that Zverev only singled out the women in Taylor's box, and didn't even have the guts to do so explicitly? With this and his settlement, is there anything he *won't* tip-toe around? And to say he was playing on one leg is just textbook poor sportsmanship. He just keeps giving us reasons to despise him.
Nomanis an island I did not notice Zverev limping or showing any physical issues in the course of the match . I did notice the strapping but it did not seem to effect his movement .
