I love mine. I'm a paraplegic, and it honestly helps me balance when I go heavy on bench. Once I feel and move a certain weight with the Slingshot, my CNS is used to it and it definitely helps when I hit the same weight (or close) raw.
I’m still trying to get over a torn rotator cuff and a SLAP tear in the same shoulder. I have to go very easy on bench. Even for the little I can do, a slingshot single-handedly braces my rotator cuff and saves my shoulder on chest workouts (because of how it guides my form and keeps my shoulders/elbows in proper alignment. I’m grateful you invented this!!
I love this thing!! I haven't benched since my 20's. Had rotator cuff surgery. Decided to give this a go because guys at the gym said it will alleviate shoulder pain. Did 315 for a double this morning. Crazy!!! If you're shoulders have been giving you trouble give this thing a whirl. I was actually shocked how good this product is. Mark Bell, you're the man. This thing is amazing. As I progress I might get the level 3 or 4. All you old boys, get one of these!!!!
I've been having shoulder pain for a month now and I used this today and was able to bench more than I normally can and without any shoulder pain. It was pretty awesome
I just used it for the first time this morning. I did not even try with my max lift. I put on 220 on the bench and it was amazing. What I normally would struggle doing 5 reps, I easily did 12 reps with more in the tank. It looks silly as hell, but it works! I will slowly try loading past my max to see how much I can handle.
Hey Mark you look great buddy . I'm 57 years old and I been in shit loads of bench competitions in my 20s and up to early 40s , I had a 525 bench press with pause for my best and never used nothing the only thing that was out that I knew about was a bench shirt but didn't use one when I benched 525 with pause at 214 pounds. Just recieved my original slingshot because I have major shoulder pain from arthritis and all the heavy lifting through my years even with seated shoulder presses behind my neck 315 for 8 reps and actually did 405 for a single behind the neck press with just a lift off and nobody touching the bar even the slightest because just a finger on the bar helps and people don't realize that but your slingshot definately works as you say and my shoulder isn't bothering me as much at all with your slingshot so thank you very much and I will be buying more of your merchandise very soon buddy.
I'm going to try this because I have occasional left shoulder pain from a hockey injury. It does aggravate it at the bottom of the bench press lift so I have been using lighter weights. I think I will contuse to use relatively lighter weights even with this device but hoping it will relieve the stress at the bottom. If it helps eventually rehab it then great. If it can be used to prevent further discomfort I would consider using it even if my shoulder improves. I lift in a home gym and I'm probably never going to compete so it makes no difference to me what detractors think or say about it. We'll see how it goes...
My situation is almost exactly the same as yours -hockey injury (but right shoulder), and home gym - although by your photo I'm probably a lot older than you. Anyway, I'm wondering if the Sling Shot helped you?
@@jamesdesantis9420 Yes. I bought one and use it every bench day. I think it helps a lot. I’m reluctant to attempt to go without it now though because I think it’s probably preventing re-aggravation of my shoulder. So I just do more reps. It’s a tradeoff. Benching was more fun with higher weights and no supporting band but no pain so…
Yes. I started using the slingshot after 6 months of PT for major shoulder surgery (rotator cuff). Using the slingshot Im working out doing sets with 205lbs 11 months out of surgery. The slingshot will help. I won’t bench without it. Just take it slow.
If you have bad shoulders I'd suggest going to a doctor not buying a slingshot an overloading your shoulders with more weight.... try using less wait seriously what's the point in beating yourself up..
Does it matter where we place the slingshot. I always put it on my biceps above the elbows but i sometimes see people with it at the center of the elbows. 50% above elbow and 50% of the slingshot below the elbow. Which is best.
No one would ever say using chains is cheating.. the sling shot is conceptually the same thing only using aid at the bottom instead of adding weight at the top... plus a sling shot is WAY easier to setup than chains and encourages proper form. It's a tool to supplement raw bench.
Lift with someone assisting you with each rep lol same thing. You aren't benching more weight it's equivalent to those that do assisted pull-ups lol if you can't lift that weight lower it non assisted and gain full benefits without joint pain from the heavier crap you can't lift to begin with
I don't know how to write to NOT sounds like an attacking moron but... The only thing I hear when you explain everything about it just pure cheating to help you lift bigger then you can't do normally? Am I totally wrong? Helps in the bottom vere it's the heaviest and force triceps to help out mor? Am I totally wrong? 😅 Explain to me because I am genuine interested. Maby I don't get because that's the only thing I hear 😅 English ain't my country's main language so maby thats it. The only thing with what I understand that's good is that you get a little more secure if you benching without anyone standing behind ready to help if you if something happen? Thanks man. Awesome videos 💪🏻 *Edit: many ut helps power lifters / explosive sports alot but not bodybuilders?
I’m dying to know too. Seems like it’s only useful if you’re injured or if you do it without and then drop set using this, but then you could just pull plates off too. Seems like cheating and not faster strength building.
Yeah and if you're injured why the hell would you want to be piling on more weight you should be taking off weight LOL the only Advantage I see to this is his pocketbook
Why tf would he need to mention that?yes Mike mentzer is an amazing man but he is not god so to act like that information was only available to him and he’s the only reason why we know that is pretty silly dude
So then why not just use less weight, if your elbows and shoulders hurt use less weight more reps..... I'm sorry I don't see a benefit , if you have that many injuries you can't lift 300 lb don't lift 300 lb Lift 200 without the band.... why push yourself to unrealistic expectations this is a gimmick the only benefit is his pocketbook... yeah you can walk around and say oh boy the first time I ever benched 315 no you didn't bench 315 you benched 250 with a cheat... that's the honest fact
I thought the same exact thing until I tried it. My bench was 245# raw and I felt a tremendous amount of stress on my shoulders. The pump was ok. With this I lifted 300# yes, it assists you at the bottom, but it keeps you engaged and in proper form. But you still feel the pump from the weight and it’s on another level. This thing is a game changer.
Bulshit protect... if your shoulders are f***** up maybe you should see a doctor and better yet use less weight . you shouldn't be piling on more with a f****** rubber band ..BS
If you put this in your gym bag, make sure you also grab your tampons too. If putting this on makes your bench go up, it’s not you lifting, it’s the gear.
Thanks for the advice, gym bro. I'm throwing away my wrist wraps and belt too. Been lifting for 40 years and injuries be damned. We need pain to progress.

I love the slingshot. It's like having a real life cheat code. I went from benching 250lbs to a new PR of 370lbs. It's a big help with tricep dips.
Is that new PR with or without the slingshot?
