I started working with one of these a while back because of shoulder injuries. I was worried at first that I would be cheating myself out of full effort. What shocked me most was that it allowed me to do MORE work at the gym, not less- a LOT more. And I’m stronger now because of it. Thanks man!

I was one of those washed up powerlifters who had sore shoulders. I'd always get pains on bench day and it made me feel like not lifting. Then a few years ago I went to the Arnold and met Mark. He introduced me to the OG Slingshot, only one he had at the time. I fell in love with it instantly. I started training with it and my bench went from 365 to a max of 450 for 1 rep. But BEST of all, I had ZERO shoulder pain. None. Sorry for the long comment, but man, I love me some Slingshot!

Worldwide Darts you fucking crazy if you think this will stop shoulder pain. Yes this ups your bench because it helps push the weights up. Its not talking away from your training because it really is a form of cheating to use heavier weight. So useing this is just an ego pump! Your exposeing your joints to more on the locked out holding of the weight at the beginning and lock out at the end to rack. I like you mark but im so tired of all this equipment ego pumps like bench the bench suit for example. If you can,t lift it raw and train raw the your ego pumping. Truth

I'd just like to say I did indeed increase my bench by 50 pounds in a little over a month with the slingshot.but I'd also like to add, that I think the reason the slingshot works so well is because it forces your body and tendons to adjust to heavier and heavier weights. In turn, breaking your bench wall. Such a simple invention. Wish I would have thought of it! I love it!

I used the Slingshot (red) today for the 1st time.
My right shoulder popped about 3 months ago and knocked my bench way back, It's taken time to get my bench up without re-injuring my shoulder.
Today I did 225 for 2 on my last regular set, then put on the Slingshot and was able to do 225 for 7 and then 250 for 2.
At the end my muscles actually felt pumped, but I felt no pain or discomfort anywhere!
Excellent device and glad I finally got one.

i do not feel a rebound, but i feel like i have correct form, i do not feel like i might "pop" something if that makes any sense to you. i feel more of a rebound on the push up, the lighter the weight the more "bounce" you will get, but i have never felt safer benching and nor i have ever benched as much as i am now.

I’m 48 years old, and just got back into lifting. The slingshot is awesome. I got the reactive version, and It helps correct my form. Even the reactive one does A LOT for the negative portion of the lift, allowing you to do long pauses at the bottom and still drive up more weight. Just don’t become dependent on it all the time. I use it every other week on the final set.

I just bought one of these and I have only used it once so far, so I can't speak to long term effects. I have a bad shoulder that has stalled my bench at extremely low weights for over a year, so in desperation, I finally bought one of these.I didn't expect much.
While I was able to bench about 10 lbs more on my first use, that was to be expected. I does do a lot of the work for you at the bottom of the lift. What wasn't expected is that I actually felt the bench press in my chest and in my triceps while I was benching. I always felt it more in my shoulders while benching and would only feel it in my chest the next day and almost never felt it in my triceps. I didn't feel like my form was very different form usual and the bar still hit in the same place, but it definitely felt different in my triceps and chest. On top of that there was almost no shoulder pain.
The only drawback is that I now have several red welts on the inside of my biceps from where it pinched me, but after watching this video, I realize I have the Slingshot too high on my arms and hopefully lowering it over my elbows will solve the problem.
I'm really hopeful that this will not only improve my bench, but also allow my shoulder issues to heal up completely over time.

Got the full boar for Christmas. It's awesome! I think that this is especially important for beginners. It does a great job of making sure your elbows are in and that you're hitting primarily your chest and triceps, instead of anterior delts. It doesn't just help with injuries, it prevents them.

  • @iancaldeian
    @iancaldeian 6 лет назад +1

The Slingshot Full Boar XL surpassed my expectations. I use it for bench pressing (incline and decline), tricepses and shoulders exercises and found that I am able to lift comfortably without worrying too much about my injured right shoulder. It keeps my arms within a certain range of motion as well as gives stabilizing support across my chest.
My questions now are: (1) Which product - the original, the Boar or the Dog - is best for someone with an XL width (my size), but with arms a bit thicker. The XXL arms on the Boar is good but the width across the chest was too wide. (2) Do you have a product like the Sling Shot that could be used in the reverse position for bicep workout? I imagine it might be more effective with the arms than the Bicep-Bomber-like equipment. I wonder if I should try the XXXL Boar for this purpose. I enjoy your products a lot and am just about to get another hip circle along with knee guards.

I pulled a pec slightly 4 ish months ago repping 515 and went light for a while to rehab it(wasnt a bad pull at all) but for some reason i couldnt mentally get around going over 475.. I picked up the slingshot to help me with the bottom of the movement and its AWESOME.. it really helps keeps my elbows in and keep the focus on benching it right.. i havent gone real heavy but on my 2nd session with it i did 405x12 easy reps, 455x6 easy reps and 495 for 2 easy reps.. i can feel about 5-10% reduction in weight in the bottom 2-3" of the movement.. I have the Black slingshot and just ordered the yellow one to give a little LESS support so i can use it more on my middle weights (405) and do more volume on paused sets.. AWESOME product MArk! for an older guy like myself (41) this really helps with keeping my shoulders where they should and avoiding injury!

I have to believe the benefits to this are 1) Keeping the elbows in at a good angle, 2) Protecting the shoulders and 3) Exposing the triceps to much heavier weights than you normally would use. I am not sure it has done anything for my chest. Been using these type devices for 9 months now...and have yet to live without one. Not sure if my raw bench has gone up...might be worth seeing. There is an interesting thing about just using way more weight than normal...it just feels funner.

Mark, congratulations on ALL the success you have achieved. I am working on something and would love to understand each step that lead to the amazing slingshot. Would you possibly be able to explain the process beginning through end. I know its a lot to ask. I have to know each step that lead to your success? Amazing life I am well aware of. THANK YOU SIR!!!

I feel like the slingshot is especially great for increasing the close grip bench press since the sticking point is similar in both raw close grip and raw close grip with slingshot. Konstantins Konstantinovs also is a big fan of the slingshot. and he's a close grip bencher. supertraining06 Basically to anyone who doubts the slingshot, just explain that it will allow you to progress at benching with a slingshot. Which has the same groove as a raw bench, by default to increase and progress at a bench with the slingshot, after initial small technical fixes, to progress you will have to build more muscle and strength. Makes sense why the guys who have used it today have pushed their benches the highest of any era.

What the heck. I was skeptical about this, but I got the yellow one and it wouldn't let me pull my elbows past my back without weight. And the bar doesn't touch chest with 135....amazing.

Can you still build muscle with the extra weight the slingshot helps you lift, or is this just mite of a numbers game ?[bench press, dumbbell press]

I started using the Reactive slingshot a while ago, love it, I use it like Mark said when i get to my heavier lifts to either get more reps or hit larger singles, I am ready to get the next level up to the Original but wondering if I should get the double ply Maddog as I am hitting over 400 lbs now.

I bought this for my husband. I was going to give it to him for a Christmas gift, but I had to give it to him now. The reason I did that was because it has to be returned within 30 days. And if he didn't like it it was going back. I emailed this seller two times to ask if I could return it after Christmas and no one had the courtesy to answer me back. I could never get through for a live chat(?) either. FYI to anyone who is interested.

for realz? Im at about 315 I would be over the moon if I could make that kind of progress. Do you do it for near max weight end sets? How did you structure your training with it?

    • @Vikingarmrestling
      @Vikingarmrestling 9 лет назад

silatguy a bench workout could look like this. I will type in kilos 1kg = 2.2lbs
      50kg x5
      80kgx5
      110kgx5
      140kgx5
      150kgx3
      160kgx2
      170kgx1
      170kgx5 slingshot
      180kgx2 slingshot
      190kgx1 slingshot
I use the slingshot to overload the triceps and also learning how the heavier weights feels.
This i do for 3 weeks while trying to add reps to topsets.
Then i do more higher rep example
      50kg 10
      80kg 10
      110kg 10
      140kg 8 x2
      150kgx10x 4 slingshot

There is one for legs. I haven't used it, but from what I can tell, it seems like it just helps keep your legs in the right position. It doesn't appear to "slingshot" your lift though like the upper body one.

After getting multiple should injuries from flat bench I decided to try this. It's a big ego boost but I doubt I could bench that heavy without it on. I'm 44, 5'6 180 pounds and before I could just bench 185 for sets now I can get 225 for sets. Does it work? I would say absolutely.
