What I love about my slingshot is that it allows me to add more weight than I thought I could handle. This makes it easier for me mentally when I try a new PR. In my head I can tell myself I have already pushed XYZ weight so it takes the mental gymnastics I have with myself during the big lifts out of the equation.
Hey Mark, as a 62 year old lifter, I use the Full Boar Slingshot for every rep of my benchpress routine...Pin Press, Floor Press, one rep MAX, all in an effort to protect my shoulders...I just purchased a Mad Dog, with the goal to enter the 4 plate club and beyond. Thank you for the motivation to keep me going to reach my personal goals, even though there is a little dust on this old bottle!
I have had mine for 3 years (reactor). I have a shoulder issue and this product has allowed me to bench again. I love it! Many of my friends have purchased one after using mine. Thanks for this product Mark. I’ll throw an extra rep in for ya today :).
Honestly this thing was a god send for doing dips more than just bench. Def helps on benching too but it got me from barely able to do 4-5 dips to sets of 15 and got my dip game so much cleaner while i was losing weight
Anyone recommend going up to the full boar after breaking into 315+ on bench? Ive got the original and love it, I'm tempted to get the full boar to hit in the higher 300's
Slingshot is an amazing product. You definitely should buy it. However it won't help you if you're tired and your central nerve system is fried. Try deload. See how you feel and then move on
Hey Mark, I just ordered mine as well I ordered the original, But I didn't anticipate the size being so tight. I got a medium and I can barely get this on my biceps. Is there anything I can do?
I'm not a powerlifter. I'm a 62 year old just trying to stay fit. I ordered the slingshot because my left shoulder is messed up. I am hoping it can get me benching with less pain. I ordered the blue one.
So, basically it is an elastic band to aid you into fooling yourself into thinking you're lifting more weight than you actually are. In my world we call that cheating...but hey, I'm old and too honest. Call me a boomer, I don't care, never needed to cheat to lift. I know, everyone deserves a medal, right?
@@deccos251 DID watch the video and STILL have the same opinion. Adding a cheating device to make you lift more, even if it is for training, does not make you lift more. Why not forgo the cheating device altogether and have a spotter helping you lift the weight...a VERY common tool/practice? Sorry, but this is a crutch of a weak mind. But to each their own. The only person you're fooling is yourself.
@@getsum697 it's a training tool to help get a bigger bench and useful for someone like me who has a home gym and no spotter, yes I have safety bars but this is another tool to use to help me get used to unrackin and reracking bigger weights, I don't think any one counts a slingshot pr as a real pr.
@@deccos251 OK, to each their own. I will stick to using rubber bands on my chest to make me think I'm lifting more than I actually am...same thing...right? How can this make you get used to "racking and unracking heavier weights" if it's giving you an unrealistic reaction to those weights? Sorry man, but that does not wash. Whatever though...do what you have to do to please you. Peace out!
@@getsum697 Hey I was reading these comments and just to clarify the racking and un-racking of the weight is exactly the same weight as normal. The slingshot only helps on the bottom (maybe 1- 3 inches) of the movement. So, what this does in effect is stimulate your CNS to get used to moving heavier loads (literally) while helping at the very hardest "sticking point" of the movement itself. Declan is absolutely correct. If though, someone is claiming a 275lb Bench Press and it's in reality a slingshot aided rep... well... let's let them get the ego boost lol. I have seen people working out at the gym with ONLY band aided movements and it is weird. This is meant more as a supplemental tool for people who are trying to break a plateau, etc.
I’m weak as fuck but with this I’m actually “ Strong”. This thing rules. I may technically not be able to lift those weights but I don’t give a shit. It’s awesome lifting more.
Out of all of the accessories I've purchased this is by far the best at improving overall strength for me.
I wanted to ask. Are the different sizes like for the different size shirt or is it just different strength resistance? Thank you.

Amen. Sometimes you just gotta feel the weight and get mentally ready. This is perfect for that.

Just ordered my first slingshot ! So excited to get it 🙌 🤗
I got one and I highly, highly recommend it, works better than what he even explains
Both of my shoulders have tendon issues - I'm 63. Do you think the slingshot will SHARE some of that stress, or worse, FOCUS it on my tendons?

yes
i love the slinshot. I use it to add more volume, just as you said, maybe 2-3 extra sets just for fun..
Will it help if I have tendonitis?
Thanks for the explanation, Mark. I'm 51 years old and stuck at a 195lbs bench press. I'm hoping the red slingshot will help me overcome that plateau.

To get more reps but if that’s not your goal then it’s not for you.
