I feel like the more heavy weight you carry in general, whether equipped or not, some of that strength stay with you. On squats I used to use sli gshot briefs and eventually the most I ever did was 485, ever since then I can do 405 solid without any equipment. What are your thoughts on this coach Ben, can the same idea be carried for bench?
Gotta agree. Been abusing the slingshot for all my heavy bench work and medium larsen presses on a secondary day. My bench has now moved to 150kgx3 raw which i have never been able to rep raw before
@@jimmykruzer The heavy day is a top set on slingshot benches followed by backoffs with the same slingshot. The secondary day is larsen presses 5x5 @ 70% of an estimated comp bench max. There is also a speed day with comp style in between the two. I’d use the same slingshot for 3 week blocks followed by a deload and then switch to a different slingshot for the next block. I’d set a certain PR with a slingshot that assists more for one block and then try to catch that or get close to that with a lighter slingshot for the next block. If you are able to get close, when you switch back to the other slingshot next block, you’d be able to go higher. There seems to be a 1 to 1 carryover from slingshot to raw. If i can get 7 reps with a red slingshot, i’d be able to triple that raw. You push up that slingshot bench, and your raw is going to follow
@kiran_lifts awsome. Yeah my plan is going to be 3x2 with 315 slingshot, followed by 3x2 275 raw, both with a hepburn progression towards 3x5. The first time I saw the slingshot I thought it was so stupid. But after using it, it's crazy how much it hits the triceps
Would you mind to answer this but what is ‘Unlimited’ category? Are people equipped differently in Unlimited category? And when was that category invented?
So is Unlimited for bench press only? Or does squat and deadlift also have Unlimited? Does it make a huge difference in lifting weights between Unlimited and Multi-ply?
@@brentcho1275 The stretchy materials used for unlimited bench pressing haven't really been used for squat suits / deadlift suits yet. For bench pressing it makes an ENORMOUS difference. The unlimited world record is 630+ kg, the multi-ply world record is about 500 kg, that's 130 kg less.
I have 2 slingshots full boar which gives me 25 lbs and mad dog which gives me 50, i have a black single ply bench daddy which can give me around 100, and I just ordered a super charged ram hoping to handle 500 and up for the first time to go with my first bench shirt I just got a single ply super katana with low collar. Do you think the charged ram and super katana will have a similar groove and poundage carryover?
They might be similar but I’d expect likely more out of the super katana as soon as you learn the groove. Working a bench shirt is just very different than those products too
What’s the drop off from double ply to single ply widow maker and would you recommend a ram or widow maker to supplement a single ply katana?

Was that with also doing raw like back off sets? Or just strictly doing slingshit raised bench @kiran_lifts

Just for moving more weight, would you recommend a 2 ply bench daddy or an f8 widow maker?
Widow Maker

Unlimited includes the new material shirts which aren’t made of the traditional poly material. It was announced as a category maybe 4-5 years ago?

@@BigBenchas Hey thank you! Great video
What would you recommend to wear underneath a hoodie/jacket? Just want to be discrete at the gym.
Thanks.
Would genjis katana deflect a fully charged shot from widowmaker??
Would a super charged ram be comparable to a super katana?
Good Vid!! Good info. Thanks for sharing!
How does an F8 compare to a Black double ply bench daddy?
Hard to say, I haven’t personally used those but I would put them in a similar category. With those you’re likely trying to move the most weight
i got a 3ply widowmaker recently, feels like its made of steel to break in, can only touch using 1 loop and like 275lbs lmao
I used the wrong account here, anyway, i pressed 315 pretty easy
F8 Widow Maker
Yeah like the Shirt - best
ayy, it's coach ben
What’s up buddy!
It’s not even close. Widow maker is king
Definitely for moving weight!
How much carryover would you say it gives on average?
