Don't quit your channel just because your friends or family don't support you. RUclips is full of strangers rooting for you!
Yes exactly!
Could yall then root for me
Exactly
Agreed!
100%. Love the positivity.
Ed this is just brilliant, practising exactly what you're preaching 🙂 so entertaining and informative, made me laugh out loud a few times, loved the crossing your legs joke and the end bit 🤣
I know why your editing timeline looks the way it does. Amazing video as always, but this was another level!
Incredible work on this one mate! I appreciate the production and editing you put into this one! inspiring
Such a great video, man - it's like, of course I know that the packaging of the idea is important, but something about how you - well, packaged - that idea in this video really demystifies it. Thanks!
This is such a good video. It puts thoughts I’ve been having into crystal clear words, and lays it down perfectly.
Wow great idea 👍👍 am going to try and apply this to see if I can improve my channel
Brilliant!! I look forward to watching it a second time.
I have been waiting for this video. Very nice use of green screen and very good information. Thank you.
Perfect thumbnail!! Perfect editing and presentation!! Perfect video!! So much effort! This video deserved to have at least 10million views!! 🥳🥳🥳
hey community - any tips on using a green screen with a glossy piano?
Thumbnails, and getting kids that had iphones thrown in front of them by parents to click. It's generally a stupid system.
You went all out on this one! I can tell you’re really going for a high retention on this video and the extra work put in is appreciated! Super enjoyable as well as informative
Damnn man .. your not like other RUclips growth channels where u just talk infront of the camera … you put in so much effort into the filming and editing ! Your not only teaching us what your talking about but so muchc more woth ur edit … Thank You 🔥🔥
That Sharon Stone/Basic Instinct leg spread was sensational! 😂 Great video as usual Ed👌
*One of my favourite youtuber here. I really enjoyed your content and both you and Mr Film booth inspire me.*
Ed, your storytelling and presentation is on another level. It’s simply nrivalled in this “niche” of RUclips education. Go higher, Boss
Thank you :)
True. It's funny cause usually the channels talking about all this stuff fail at following their own instructions. But there's rarely a video on this channel i don't watch completely and i always have a hard time not clicking on the video shown in the endscreen...
@@OhItsNoctu 100% agree. But some of the channels are now following Ed’s lead. He’s changed the game forever
@@EzekJohnson It's actually impossible to stop watching! Other by pausing the video, that is, but you know what I mean 😉
@@FilmBooth I guessed two out of 3, (McDonald's ice cream, and Mr. Beast solitary), but... I had watched both of them too...so...anyways, great vid and info as usual...thanks bro, Keep creating...~~Just me, RD
the pixelated blur on "Tom Scott" had me DYING XD
I‘m amazed how Ed keeps coming up with revolutionary ideas about how to grow your channel while also telling it in such a wonderful story that keeps you engaged. Great inspiration, man practices what he preaches 🙌🏼
This was amazing! 👏
Your videos are exponentially increasing in quality and value it delivers!
So happy I've been a subscriber since you were at 10K subs - got to witness this channel blow up from first row! 🤩🚀
Thanks Simon :)
Good lord the level of stimulation in this video... ADHD much? I love the concepts, but I feel like I've just been pummeled by content without the opportunity to take a breath. Whew...
Now I just finished the video and GOT DAMN!!! SO FIRE BRO!! Adding the green screen element made everything so dope. Happy for you dude. Keep crushing it.
Thank you :)
Ed, your videos are so good, dude. You're talking about an approach to video making that I haven't seen talked about at all before. It's very fresh and the concepts are immediately applicable. Thank you for the work you do, my friend.
Glad you like them!
Thanks
Yeah...it's humbling to know how much further you can really go in production quality when you see something as amazing as this. Thanks so much for this video!
Alternative title: Fix the mistake that DESTROYS your videos
Yes do that!!!
Alternative opinion: No.
@@brodiethegoaty849 why?
Your channel will reach a 500k community before end of 2023 for sure. The Infotainment-Factor os huge. Honestly no other YT-Sifu can catch-up with your Vids...no Nick Nimmin, no Roberto Blake, no Vanessa Lau, no Brian G , not even Nate who is also on the raise. ED you deserve every View, Sub and like cause you truely go the extra 100 miles with every video you make. Incredible. Cheers from a small guitar youtuber
I've been following since about 20k subs, and I just wanted to say slick editing, your presentation is always on point, and after watching many channels within the genre, I am really digging the extra effort you take for the cool small touches..
You're not only educating through speaking, but through visual example too
I always watch RUclips videos at 2x speed but this one beat me. I had to slow it down. Which is great! I wish everybody else was faster. 😂❤️
😂 I watched it at 2x earlier and thought "nobodies going to be able to handle this pace" haha, it wasnt my intention
same here😅and I used Transcript too take out the main points
Yet again, you put words to something I was already starting to intuit, but wasn't sure how to systematize! Ever since I started watching your channel, I've been focusing way more on presentation of ideas than I ever did before, but some videos still manage to slip through the cracks without getting dedicated treatment on that level because I wasn't making it a consistent part of my process.
I knew the 2nd and 3rd original video, but had never heard of the first one so I couldn't guess it
I can't even imagine how long this took to edit!! Didn't lose my attention even for a second. So much to learn just from the presentation of this video, it's crazy!
It wasn't actually that long to edit, no more than usual anyway :) glad you liked it
@@FilmBooth how many hours is the typical edit for a video? :)
Yes it’s incredibly well presented and edited. How many people are working on your videos?.
@@FilmBooth we want a video about how you film and edit with how long it typically takes and how it tells the story. Of course, in a story format. I wish I knew how to find the best story for each video!
I wish you were around when I started making RUclips Videos
The efforts that this guy puts for the creative storytelling & then editing to match that level, is seriously ridiculous. Hats off Ed 🙏🙏👏👏
I am consuming just about every video of yours, so much useful information.. entertaining as well!

Hey Ed when would you deliver on Kogi 😂
Love the new style of delivery! Fast and engaging, makes the text on the screen more interesting. Also good use of the light bulb!
Damn the thumbnail goes hard
Wow, I think this is one of the most dynamic videos you have ever made. Did you hire a new team of editors? Very inspiring: I want to get back to the drawing board now and plan some more videos! Thank you!!
This was just me editing. Its not actually that hard to do on a green screen, I think this might have been the easiest video I've made for a while thinking about it
@@FilmBooth it was great though man. Where do you get your stock images?
@@HafstepHQ I use envato elements for this
@@FilmBooth awesome thank you my man keep it up
Ed, good day! Is there any explanation of how trends work on RUclips? Cuz I recently posted a video (2 days ago basically) and RUclips Impressions just skyrocketed. I have a small channel which gets around 200-300 views, but the recent video got 8.5k views, which I think is incredible. The reason I am asking, I have made a video about a new currency in my country, which was released 2 weeks ago, but is not so trendy now. Nevertheless, RUclips recommended this and my Click-Through-Rate reached 9.2%, which, according to RUclips, is ideal!
BTW, my content is in my local language, do it may not be understandable for you. But I am applying your recommendations and they are proving to work
I LOVE THE AMOUNT OF WORK YOU PUT IN UR VIDEOS!!
Hey some healthy criticism, the Tom Scott skit was way too long and didn’t offer any useful information
This video made me realize how goated a green screen is. It gives the editor so much flexibility when it comes to presentation and visual style, as opposed to a normal talking head. Great decision!
I love you guys 💓😚
I'm always engaged in your videos! Thanks for breaking down the importance of presentation and how to pick the right ideas.
"Get 1.4M Views in 1 Month With THIS SECRET Tool" or "Change THIS And GET 1.4M Views in 1 Month"
Hi Ed! I love your videos and your workshops. I'm trying to help you with a tittle suggestion, because the actual tittle didn't connect with me as a creator, and this video is so good it deserve more views. Thank you!!
Ed, your commitment to topping yourself video after video is really impressive! I’m always so inspired by the way you find new visual tricks to better engage your audience. Thanks for all you do!
Came for point 4...stayed for the disco.
You sound like my kind of RUclipsr
@@FilmBooth by the way, excellent production quality, really enjoyed it. Plus the info was spot on. I've been working on my ideas and how best to present them (which has a great knock on effect for other metrics of course) and this has pushed me to aim higher 👍
Great video with a solid "story" - it was definitely engaging and informative. This is an area where my niche presents some challenges - my channel is primarily tutorials on software for learning and teaching. So there are a fair amount of screencasting tutorials - which don't have quite as much creative flexibility - but! You've sparked an idea that I'm going to try out!
awesome vid
What I love about this channel is you actually put your money where your mouth is. You use the tips you provide and provide a good example of how to do them just naturally throughout the video
This is an Awesome Video! You deserve way more subs that you currently have😄😄 We actually gained 0-2k subs in last 30 days by following your ideas. Hope you read this...
Incredible! I love your green screen implementation. Any ideas to how to apply this more towards a product review channel?
Your production is going crazy. This is so much work. Here is a 100% watchtime to help you ✌️
Love this concept! Similar to this video, I think of producing videos as 2 stages: (1) figuring out WHAT I want to say and (2) figuring out the best way to PRESENT that to someone else. I think there's a bit of magic in each: (1) requires you to do lots of research & iterating, (2) really requires empathy & understanding the idea on an even deeper level.
BRO. The thumbnail is sooooooooo FIRE! I didn't even reed the title. The thumbnail was that good haha.
Hey Ed, I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you for all of your content. I stumbled on your channel last month and your videos finally gave me the push I needed to take a chance and start on RUclips. Here I am, exactly 1 month later and I have already surpassed 1k subscribers on my very first channel as a complete RUclips newbie. I would never have even started if it wasn't for finding your channel.
Wow that's fantastic. Congratulations!!
Just happy I stayed for the disco dancing. OK. Your main point was pretty compelling too.
I can't believe you're pouring your heart out teaching our program and produce videos
of this quality, Ed. How? Next topic - bending time...
So many people obsess over an idea while it's all about execution.
Such a good video, Ed!
I feel like there's one big thing holding back your channel. Your titles are all optimized for the algorithm/recommendation/clickbait and it makes it impossible to find specific videos to share.
A huge chunk of the videos have the same clickbaity titles
"This destroys your youtube videos"
"Big mistakes a youtuber must stop making"
"This stops 90% of youtubers from getting more views".
I would have to look through dozens of videos to find the exact video I was looking to share.
All the best,
Sunwoo
Yeah, absolutely. Clickbait works for snagging views to some extent, but as a viewer I'm not likely to find this content when actively searching. Like, for this video, I only opened it because I'm on lunch break and had nothing else specific lined up in my view queue.
“Streets of Rage” I can’t believe you found a clever way to give a nod to a classic 90’s game 🤣
I understand why you make your videos for people with a goldfish attention span, but it does become very distracting when I'm legit trying to learn something. Don't get me wrong.. the visual effects, sound effects, editing and all that is great, it just conflicts with the point of the video which is to teach and not dazzle to the point of distraction.
Have to agree, very choppy, all over the place, and are you tube educators running out of things to teach?
@@DeniseTheCakeVlogger What I've found is that once you have an audience of learners established there is more room to let off the attention getting gas peddle and simply present the material in an interesting way that holds attention, but isn't in the "grab attention" mindset. For instance.. as a filmmaker I'll watch someone review a new camera all the way through with simple cuts and fades to static on screen graphics. I think a lot of RUclipsrs are so bent on getting new viewers through attention grabbing and sensational topics that the seasoned legit learners who are there for the long haul get overlooked. imho
@@timdanyo898 I agree. I think Ed did fantastic here overall with the production quality and efforts into story etc...deserves all the praise in the world, but I do think there is something to be said for presenting with a talking head and some occasional graphics to help drive home a point. Almost everything in life typically reverts back to "keep it simple" and I think there is an inverse relationship between topic density and presentation. The more dense the topic, the more simple the presentation should be to follow along and absorb it. This concept is actually fairly dense and could be expanded on for a 2 hour seminar truthfully. It took my brain a couple rewinds to gather what was going on fully
I don't want to tear down Ed at all because I genuinely dig the effort and various approaches he takes at innovating in this genre...its truly inspiring. At the same time, there are some things to consider
@@dna8269 yes.. Ed is taking it to the next level and as a video shooter and editor I know how much work goes into producing something like this! Seriously.. hats off to Ed. Just by watching it I can glean a ton of useful shot and editing tricks which has value, although I'm completely not focused on what Ed is saying!
Same. This one was totally over the top in terms of stimulation. Fancy, pro-level editing for sure, but it was super distracting to me.
I came back to rewatch. This is the best video you've made. Hands down.
It is not true that having that having a good thumbnail and storyline will help the video. Your examples are caucasian skewed, you have not obviously seen asian you tubers namely from japan and korea who do not have storyline in their silent vlogs, they just go about and cook, eat, cook some more, eat...(em iffy, Nami, plan D) or make coffee and read (Nao) there is no storyline whatsoever and the thumbnail is not anything out of the ordinary. Yet they get an insane amount of views, even more than most of the better shot videos with a proper storyline. So this goes against the basis of what u just said. You Tube and its audience is still a big mystery. Would u like to review these asian silent vloggers and give us your thoughts on why they get so much views for no idea, mediocre thumbnails and no storyline? I would love to watch your take on it!
This is a good question. Are there loyal audiences for particular channels that like that RUclipsr's style? Or do people pick videos depending on their mood i.e. thirsty for coffee?
@@unclemick-synths i wish i knew! I am always curious. I guess for most people who watch vlogs, they prob click out of curiosity and then become a loyal if their style resonates with them. I wished i knew why they click because some of the thumbnails don't look interesting and the titles are very vague like "Even though you didn't wake up early, today is good"...no seo, nothing. Thumbnail is just a girl sitting on table writing. but such a title can get 2.6 million views! Interesting right?
This is good stuff! I’m just struggling to find out ways to implement these into toy reviews.
And after watching this video...I disco 🎉 Amazing video as always, Ed!
I guess i'm only one who saw this awesome 6:20 CTA :)
Great job! Inspiring as always!
In other words for those who still don't understand. The Intro of your video is based on the title and thumbnail for your presentation
Dynamite stuff Ed.
I know green screen can be a pain in the ass but you nailed it with this one.
You've probably set a new bar now. It won't be enough to simply jump split every second. It'll need to be a jump with a green screen.
And just when I got my own cool studio background set up. 🤷♂️
Better order some cloth 🙂
*currently Im conflicted between search traffic and suggested traffic. I know suggested traffic can cause the greater growth but if it doesnt get suggested then nobody will see the video, search traffic can bring consistent views but doesnt offer the same growth. As a channel with below 1000subs i worry about not getting traffic via the suggested route 🥴🥴🥴🥴*
I started my channel months ago for english audience and gained over 1.5K subs
Now i post shorts in Hindi(my language) and my shorts are viewed by English audience and they are just messing up with retention.
So should i start a new channel...???
I'm guessing the first video is about Ben and Jerry's, the second one is Mr Beast going to prison and the third is garlic bread in space
Ah, first one was McDonald's, second one was solitary confinement (when I heard it had 100m views and I saw jumpsuits I assumed prison lol) but the last one was right
This is just fantastic Ed! I love the creativity!
Cheers Fin! Bean Bag fin made me want to get the green screen out :)
This editing style is like Film Booth on steroids Ed, and I don't not like it! Great video!
(Was 'comments on the new editing style' in your pre-planned 'questions to be asked by the audience'?!)
Great video as usual. I had to pause when you did the blurred out leg uncrossing thing because that was too funny. Didn't want to miss a second of info. So informative from start to finish. Keep it up for sure.
I was thinking of reacting to 5 minutes crafts using my Nigerian accent but confused how to make the thumbnail
Any Idea
And the editing is top notch
I love doing stuff like this
1. icecream machine not working at McDonald’s
2. 50 hours in solitary (MrBeast)
3. Sending bread to space
You guessed them all?
Really got into your content since finding your channel! Love the way you present the info in an interesting and dynamic way! Going to try to action some of your advice in the coming months!
First and third videos I’ve got no clue, but the second one has got to be mr beast’s “spending can’t remember how many days in solitude” video
Bruh how's the me beast one tough - i can easily tell it's I spent 50 years in solitary, the second I saw the mozaic
Edit: bruh how did I not get 2:06 I loved this video
Look at this man, he's teaching us about best thumbnails and misses the greatest ideas for his own thumbnails... Yeap, i'm speaking about the moment at 3:27 :))
aaagghhhhh damnit i thought you were going to tell me the secret on how to use story telling to complete level 3 of streets of rage. I just can't get my head around story telling in videos.
If one day I grow up my channel I will tell my subscribers to visit u and check ur videos it's awesome others make tutorial so boring
I just SUBSCRIBED 👍 nice content
Of course I watch all of your videos, but it's an especially good one when I feel compelled to watch it again the next day!
Thanks Ryan!
Loved this new style of video - and that is the best thumbnail you've ever made! Very Niklas Christl!
sir I love the thumbnail of this video , please make a video on how we can make this kind od thumbnail 👌👌👌👌
This is AMAZING content!! So helpful and it makes sense! I'll implement that process in my next video!!! Your story telling and editing skils are out of this world! I couldn't stop watching!Thank you so much!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾😁😁
Amazing video editing! Top notch! 👏
This really opened my mind. Thank you ser
Good lookin’ foo✌🏼I just outlined a video while listening to you, knitting, and reading emails😛

Dude ur videos are amazing. I wish I can give you 1 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS and even you deserve WAY more
So much more to unpack in this video. I’m sure I’m gonna watch it more than five times. That Skit was hilarious 😂 🤣😂🤣.
Sensationalism and clickbaity thumbnail = millions of views, Got it!
One thing I noticed with you videos is that the volume of the music is really low, why?
Your video really helps thanks, I pray my channel gets better soon💪
I need an editing tutorial from you ASAP. Well done
