A 3 rib that is hooked up to a 1964 corvair engine 110hp. The transmission has shifting problems so it might get exciting. I have done new process and twin screw transmissions but never a vw so looking up all the info I can find. Just starting to get into the dune buggy world and found and old school to play with its even titled and street legal.
How hard is it to replace the spider gears? I have a buggy I built in 1985 with a 2275 cc engine. It has been sitting since 1991 and I am thinking about getting it running again but my wife tore up the spider gears and I am having a hard time finding bus transaxles anymore. I saw some for sale on Ebay from 2 to 4 thousand dollars. It is strictly off road use only. Thank You for your time.
Yep when someone comes in on a weekend and finishes it for you as a gift but forgets or sabotages it by not installing pinion nut lock kit. She wont last long! But after a redo with red Loctite in a pen lock. It’s been great for 2 years and 18k miles
