Chris! pay up buddy. I'm an out shape rather barbarian egg faced human in America and believe you owe me some of your Pretty, Deep brown eyed, Statue of David physic Privilege. A check simply won't do! And No I'm not comparing myself to you, I'm making fun of me and you. I've been working hard brother from a much much lower status spot then you .. but again that's my fault ..I was once the king of all that i saw.. and Hubris Came .. the Piper Did Call... I'm putting in alot of work .. I'm not perfect or as ready as one would like me to be .. but history Waits for no man .. or women for that matter.. I believe i have cracked a big societal nut no ones been able to quite figure out .,.. at least in the US .. it's about the homeless crisis and how to reverse it .. here is a video i put out today mostly for my Facebook family and friends, but I think it's a good measure of where I'm at... ruclips.net/video/23XtnDnL6mc/видео.html i know this is breaking a once cardinal rule about the internet but ...I'm desperate .. you should have me on as a guest +1 509-818-6005 The names Cameron Vessey

Chris a taste of my fix.. Many a late night commercial, new aspiring book or author might say “forget everything you know about Blank”. Because their about to blow you away with a whole new way to look at an old problem. Check out my new mouse trap. But as I often do, I must take a different approach, as I tell you to check out this Mouse trap Escape tool. Take everything you know about habits, From Jocko to Books on self-discipline, from self-help to psychological research take it all …and try to imagine what a human being older then 20 years old would look like, act like, be capable of or what they wouldn’t be capable of if you wiped them clean of every single habit they’ve been forming since birth .. then place them into society.
This human can be of normal intelligence, of privileged genetics’, and well educated. This human can also have avoided any psychosis inducing trauma throughout his or hers life. As well-adjusted of a say 25 to 40 year old as one might imagine. Then thoroughly wipe them clean of any habits they might normal of developed over the same period of life. Take minute. Physical habits, emotional habits, greeting people with a hello, avoiding cracks in the road. Putting their shoes on in the morning, wiped clean of every habit you can think of and oh so many that you haven’t. And place them into society for a week. For a month .. how would they fair? Could they maintain their patience when cashiers bagging the potatoes in another plastic bag even though they come in a bag already? How often would they just start running to safety like a deer in a grassy field sensing possible danger? After a long week of putting forth effort to do so many little things how exhausted would they be? One might even think they were suffering from depression. Tired, lethargic, no direction.. What if a perfectly healthy human who was suffering from a habit chalk board that had been wiped clean were everything is far more of an effort then normal was given anti depressants ..
Take every thing you know about habits, motivation, daily routines, effort, mental health .. and now look at a chronically homeless person as if every habit they’ve spent a life time developing have been erased completely off their habit chalk board.. What would you recommend as a doctor or a counselor or a loved one now? What would your expectations for this person be for the next 30 to 90 to 180 days ? What responsibility’s could they really be given ? When getting dressed in the morning with out outside stimulus becomes a major chore. This is just the first part in my self-proclaimed ground breaking discovery as to why the homeless crisis is just getting worse … is it worth a chat ? I hope so! Please Dr. Peterson .. I believe I’ve cracked one of the biggest nuts our society has been struggling with over the past 15 to 20 years .. I’m 46 years old .. when I was high school dropout and my grandmother forced me to get my GED I did an IQ test at the Spokane community college were I took the GED test the last grade I had completed was 7th grade .. I was 17 and scored a 135 .. I believe I have figured something profound and deeply simple .. and away of fixing it ..RIGHT NOW..TODAY..

I discovered JBP 3 years ago
Since then I’ve lost over 100lbs,
Mentally & emotionally I am in a stable and increasingly secure place,
    No longer suicidal,
I am writing and am going to start school this year to be a special education teacher,
I am currently going through a divorce where for 18 years I suffered every type of abuse you can name and I have my moments where things get unbearable but bc of JP I am getting through it in a very healthy way.
I don’t know if you see this comment but that’s a small list of so much I am grateful to you for JP. I had no one in life to help me in positive ways and I took on those lectures and videos hours on hours and it’s done so much in my life I have your books and can’t wait to get the new one 👍🏼

I was given so many gifts, told I have those gifts over and over, and wasted my entire life up to late middle age, ultimately on addiction and the total annulment of life's riches. Those gifts were as nothing compared to the negative core beliefs that were instilled within me. Facts! When I was in prison I went through the initial intense withdrawal for opioids (mainly dope). Although, when I was released I still suffered from PAWS (post acute withdrawal syndrome). I sought clinical help and the director noticed potential in me that I could not see for myself. So he took me under his wing and told me "Jake, first take one day at a time, and then when you overcome individual days, take it week by week, and then month by month. Eventually, you'll look back and realize that you've been clean for years". He was suggesting that I take incremental steps like JBP describes.
Well, let's just say that I've been clean ever since I took his advice, over 11 years ago. I say this, not to brag. The main thing I wish anyone takes away from my story, is that you too can defeat whatever seemingly unshakable demon that torments your soul.

Learning that progression is made in incremental steps has transformed my life in so many ways. Because of what we are exposed to every day I was always under the impression that I need to do and have everything and it all needs to happen and be gotten right now, all the while being so overwhelmed with not being where I wanted to be that I made no progress at all. Progress is also not measured by how well you perform - you can't expect yourself to perform better and better each day, rather, each days' efforts compound; for example, three days from now you will have 3 days of effort more added to your work than you did today and that is what makes you better, not that you got more work done than you did yesterday. Otherwise, you can 'not work yourself' into last week in terms of progress and that's greatly demoralising.

My word! This touched me so deeply.
I knew you shouldn't compare yourself to others, especially based on social media. Easy to say but something else entirely when you're feeling all small and setback.
"You watch the highlight reel of other people's success on social media but have the front row seat to all your failures and limitations..." most of which, you alone know about.
"No one else has the same set of opportunities and limitations as you."
    Yours is a unique situation.
"They", are really not out there judging you, it's just you.
Don't be an unfair judge, don't be unkind.
Take your daily steps forward no matter how small. Have faith and patience.

The incremental gain he talks about in your life reminds me of first starting to lift weights. I did a popular program called Starting Strength, where you just start with the bar. If you can do that you add 5lbs the next time, and if successful 5lbs the next, and so on. If you fail you remove 25% of the weight and start the process over. In a surprisingly short amount of time you can achieve your goal, as long as you are disciplined.

It's especially bizarre to see young people in their 20s comparing each other in the most specific of ways and i see it often. One is 23 and he's crowing that the other is making 4% less money at age 25 while the other is angsty because he's 22 but the other two were already [meaningless title of a job position] and he wants to be 7% more by the time he's this and that. Holeeeee shit they have no idea how utterly nonsensical and pointless and foolish nothingness that is. 1000 peculiar twists and turns will happen 1000 times in their lifetimes up and down, one launched to poverty to be launched back up, another will be on fire for a minute, later 1000 XYZs will move the sandbox around and so on and so on. They go on like it matters so specifically and it's really just weird.

But in recent decades, 18-25 year olds have felt the most stress, thanks to a combination of delayed marrying, college debt, hyper competitive job markets, and skyrocketing housing costs. It's funny but I feel way more "teenage angst" now than I ever did in high school. Just the joys of growing up I suppose!

If you're in a competitive field, you'll be compared to other people for as long as you remain in that field. Chances are, despite what Jordan preaches in this video, you will be compared to others your entire life even if you're not in a competitive industry. Now, that's a bit different than comparing yourself as a person to other people as a person, but skills you have or lack like leadership will definitely be subject to comparison between you and others. I agree that one should not compare themselves in their entirety to other people in their entirety, but my point is this: There are people who get upset when they are compared to others in any way by someone. Those people should grow up and face the reality that they will likely be compared to others for the rest of their lives.

  • @samotivationbysami

Anytime I have compared myself to other people, I have felt less than. Until I realized that the only person I should compare myself to, is the person I was yesterday. No matter what you compare, you will always find someone richer, better looking than you, has a nicer car, has a better (fill in the blanks). And it's totally pointless. When I began focusing on the idea of going to bed better than I woke up, basically making sure that throughout day I do things that make a better version than the one who woke up that morning, then life really began to change for me. Focus on you and your own progress. Run your own marathon! 🏃‍♂🏃🏃‍♀
