Motivated, Doku decides to do something that hasn’t been done before a 1,000,000% smash.
This smash gives such an incredible sense of the struggle and sacrifice of the hero's goal to save others. Koto now has a hero to look toward and appreciate" (Eli Sokeland, 2018).

Arguably the best fight in the series so far. Fails with 100% twice. Then as he thinks he’s about to die he goes plus ultra to 1,000,000% and becomes Kota’s hero. Beautiful.
I personally feel like the fight with todoroki is tied with this because it was when deku had to break his bones to use one for all and he didn't stop untill he saw todorokis flames and all he could do was smile
The final attack was really epic with todoroki saying thank you
And then deku loses but it didn't feel wrong
How bout all for one vs all might
reminder there is more to a fight than just emotion
So basically the same old shonen bullshit of pulling a hail mary out of his ass 😂

This is what superhero movies are missing, not every battle has to be huge in scale with massive stakes, a hero protecting one kid can make you feel more than a hero saving the world
That’s why KickAss’s first fight is so epic.
He’s goes to fight three thugs to save some guy he literally doesn’t know, and even after getting messed up and a knife pulled on him, he proclaims that he’d rather die than walk away and abandon the helpless guy.
That small thing makes him into a badass hero.

Fun fact: Whenever Deku does cool stuff like this, he’s mostly either alone or only a small group of people are present. This is why his peers usually don’t acknowledge him that much, since they don’t see or hear about him doing stuff like… how he took down Overhaul, or here when he beat Muscular.

Sometimes I feel the same way and then I read stories where it happens and everyone is always so amazed with the mc and shocked at everything they do and the I realize why they didn’t do it with deku. It’s corny and gets old fast. Not to mention basic because lots and LOTS of anime, webtoons, and shows already do that.
I think that’s what makes it so cool. He doesn’t care if anyone is watching, he doesn’t care if anyone acknowledges it: he’s going to be a hero, and either save the day or die trying. It’s why Stain acknowledges him as “one of the only real heroes” in a world full of what Stain thinks are phonies.

This fight is so perfect. I think mostly because muscular was such a great villain. Even his motives were interesting. He wasn’t even mad about the eye he just said I wanted to kill people and they wanted to stop me. The result was everyone trying their best. He was just interested in fighting strong opponents and killing them. And he acknowledged midoriya’s strength. Plus the music was so moving. The last stand as it were. This was as good of not better than allmight vs one for all.
It's sad how close that description is to Goku from dbz just saying

I think out of all the times Deku has shown a heroic action, this is probably the biggest. He knew he was absolutely outclassed at the power he was able to unleash on his own. He knew he was dead. But he still fought to save Koda. This was the turning point in Deku's story in my opinion. When he truly knew he could be a hero and had what it takes. If not consciously, but subconsciously. Because since then, he has had much more confidence in his abilities.
And he did it without even knowing Full Cowling fucking goated

Yeah but obviously it depends on how well the voice actors are in conveying such things emotion, it makes all the difference and is why it’s more memorable in most instances than others. So yeah, every MC of an anime does it to you but there’s more elements involved
Forgot to mention the OST used in these scenes as well, that also plays a huge role as well in terms of bringing out emotions from the viewer.
Not every anime mc apologizes to their mom though.

I thought MHA was a fun little anime. Slightly above average and nothing more until I got to 7:04 when watching season 3. Just the desperation in Dekus voice along with channelings Bakugous rage/Kotas expression/Apologizing to mom/All Might really made me rethink my position. Just an amazing scene that took 2 seasons to build up to.
Deku Vs Todoroki was top tier though so...
@@gameracefighter Yeah that’s when I started to really get into the show. I thought season 1 was kind of average but once I got to season 2 I was all in. S3 only boosted that especially with All Mights fight and his message to Midoriya on TV.
I’m at ep 13 of S3 rn and man MHA has definitely risen in the ranks of my personal favorite anime.

Idk if I'm reading too much into a scene or not but the moment Muscular yells "that was even weaker than before" you'd expect a swell of 'bad guy' music while deku cries out in pain but they subverted that by fading to silence and following up with Deku's resolve to Kota that he'll sacrifice himself for this kid that he barely knows and I think that's what gets me most
