2 strokes sound like pissed off weedeaters and I love it😂
To make it better it's an 85 not an 80 lol
lil redrider306 that bike is a 80
@@masterjcp1274 the year not the engine size.
Now that is a sweet build. Watching you run over your foot brought back memories of my 3 wheeler days. :)
My kx80s top end just went out, watching you guys make me wanna ride it really bad now
I miss that sound.. brings back soo many scary memory's. :-). They are crazy little bikes
Idk what side of the bed you guys wake up on to come up with these awesome builds but keep doing it I love it!👌👍
Etard Adventures oh yeah I got the notifications.
Love it Just love it,,I thought I was the only one who converted a pitbike into a 3 wheeler ,When it was ready I didn,t see my son for a week him and his mates went bush out here in West Australia ,I ended up getting an order for 103 to build for his mates and everyone who saw it..I got an enginering company to knock them out in only 4hrs each, with my very easy setup ,it took me a month to build my sons one..Happy days,,keep those vids rolling,,cheers
“No power, no power, Power” yeah it’s called the power band thats what they do
ya and if you tighten it up some it works even better lol
@@Trumplican def specialy on low speed side
I have a 125 and it had junk reeds and it acted this way I then got new reeds and it was better but yea they might not be used to it but let them spend the money if they want to
It cracks me up when ppl feel the need to point out the obvious! He knows 2strokes as you and I do obviously. But he knows what he’s talking bout with his description of 2 stroke reeds and how they work. Owned dozens myself from mid 80s kx 80, 89 rm 80, 81 cr 250, a 89 cr 500 and Yamahas too. But thanks for stating the obvious. Just HAD to impart your wisdom didn’t ya?😂
Mine acted that way till I replaced the reeds with aftermarket Vforce 3 Reed valves.
so happy to finally see a dirtbike on rbg!
That 2 stroke Honda sounds so good 😍
Really? It sounds like bad carburation
Id say it either has low compression or carb issue. It doesnt idle down right
@@danicu-ce7703 lol yes
Red Beard your fabricating skills are amazing.
Good build and video!!! Just a tip to make that engine last longer...don’t engine brake so much and pull in the clutch when slowing down. Either that or bleep the throttle
Just watching one of your older videos Grayson on his four-wheeler when he was 4 I bought my son the same four wheeler when he was 4 that video made me cry then I immediately subscribed
Well thanks for subbing and supporting the channel man
Sorry for engine braking the ole 2 stroke. Its a hard habit to "brake" lol
what advantages do you get from a trike that you don't have on a normal dirtbike?
@@DJIInLondon I don't see the point of all that work because you don't want a stand
Engine brakes?? Are you serious? Please know the difference between a 2t n a 4t.
@@Studdfromhell Uh yeah, looks like you might need to read again before you comment.
@@nsbextreme2012 better cornering of flat ground, it’s harder to ride because you need to shift your weight around a lot more so you don’t flip, etc...
This is sweet! I did this to my grom and it is awesome. Wish i could send a pic! Great idea
That machine is dope brother keep up the good work!!!
jack the car guy still a pit bike
Love the track, lawn chairs, barbeque, trees at the turns!
Now you can call it a Honda ATC80R.
That bike sounded sick on that last run you did comming back down the main highway toward the house to let Lonnie ride it.You was right in the motors sweet spot through every gear. The power band is like flipping a switch you shift right and your in the band every shift. I think that's the coolest thing you built yet I think. I wanna ride it so bad. My boys 99 KX60 maybe a trike in a day or 2
Awesome thorough build .... a bit under powered though ... as a CR250 fan, thats the ideal combo - so I'll leverage your design and let you know how it flys!!! Keep up the awesome builds .... Cheers
They were already built from 81 to ‘85…called the Honda 250r. Just a thought. Damn they were a blast to ride! Still are!
And while at it why not extend it and make it out of a CR 500?! Now that was never built.
The way he seat bounces that jump and almost dies 😂😂😂
Lol the way Lonnie explains it sounds like he’s never heard of a 3 wheeler
Sweet!
I just got my old Honda 250sx back. Gonna start wrenching on it tomorrow
that was CLASS lad's keep the good work up /UK.
That new welder sounds great!
Btw the cr 80 doesn’t have any power valves, that’s how the little two strokes are supposed to run, no power and then all of the power at once
Nikolas Ramberg they have reed valves though
احمد
Lol
Reed valves are before on. Carb
@@muhamadgaleon2978 what's those noodles
Thanks for this one guys I got a ktm 50 I’ve been wanting to do this to for ages
Nice! 👍 dollar general should pay y’all for all the advertisements on your videos. 😂
Brandon'svlog they do
Dollar Generals are every three blocks in TN, hard not to just see one at any given time.
@@Drckarvo I know it's crazy
Cr's are known for a crazy powerband especially the older ones!
The problem you may be having with the splatter could be you have the polarity backwards. You should have the ground clam on the positive connection and the fun on negative. Some welders let you hook it up both ways.
CryinBranston yes true but most flux core setups are ac not dc.
Changing electrode positive to electrode negative doesn't change the current from AC to DC or DC to AC. GMAW steel is always DC. You'd only use GMAW AC for aluminum. Ergo, Fluxcore GMAW is still going to be DC current.
elesjuan ok the gun should always be negative and the clap should be positive except when welding super thin steel. No one said changing the polarity would make it ac. Please read before you coment. Ac is used for aluminium and also flux core wire. But he is having a splatter problem and most likely has the polarity backwards
3 wheelers are tuned for bottom end to torque up those wide tires. Plus you don't want the top end speed like a bike. You would have to get an exhaust for that or modify the baffle in the exhaust for a shorter blow back throw.
Those bikes are race bikes so they make all the power in the top end
Love how the test ride went to instant wide open on the road lol. Full SEND!!!
Little 2 strokes like that don’t have much bottom end. They are all top end. The power band is supposed to snap in really hard. And it’s called a reed cage.
2 strokes are for real men💪🏻
They dont have that low down torque because of how they are factory tuned. If you put a aftermarket pipe and/or reeds it will change where the bike hits PB, you can make it hit down low if you want too, thats why they are ordering a vforce3 reed cage to change the powerband to hit smoother throughout the whole rev range.
Up till 4:50 I didn’t even hear them get on it good enough to hit powerband.
MrHillfolk right red beard never even took it up high enough, not to mention he's about200lbs too heavy for it lol
Steve Johnson
Back in the day (late 80s)
Kawasaki advertised their 250 as having 58hp, heh I’m pretty sure I could dig thru old dirt bike mags and find the ad.
As kids we were amazed.
Just a tip for you guys! You have pretty much of a postflow on your's welding machine. Turn it a little bit of smaller and you will save welding gas! At least it won't help anything if you take the welding pistol away from the welding spot when you stop welding and it's still fowing some gas...
Nice work! I like all kind of workshop and garage videos! Just keep it up and keep going man! This is great job!! I appreciate you guys!!
Everybody wants a trike no matter how they get em😂 *trikelife*
Dillon Belflower yep I got a 1983 200e looks like it just came out the factory and a 1983 185s
Your Mom 85 200x, 81 200s(bore 250), 84 200m, 85 250r....#trikeordie😂
Dillon Belflower nice I need to find a beat up 200 or 250 so I can go mudding on it I don't want to get my nice 200 all muddy and crappy lookin and my little brother rides the 185
ATC 4 LIFE
I built one yrs back with a fat cat 200 and a 250r front and rear. It all lined up perfectly rode it for 2-3 yrs like that
sorry but so far by what ive seen there is nothing wrong with it bud, seems golden to me, nothing wrong with the valves imho, great bike buddy :)
gimble valves in a 2-stroke😂
reed valves bud, never thought i had to make it clear bud, do you do engines much?????
Awesome fab work, and beautiful welds! Now all you need to do is paint it or get it powder coated so it doesn’t rust
Sometimes you can just flip the reeds over.
I forgot about that old trick, I used to do that 30 years ago...!
I just picked up a free 84 CR125 no engine but all the other goodies im tearing into it now but man this gave me a whole nother line of thought!
I am so confused, this is still realy cool
that is way cool i love it great job that is by far one of the coolest i have seen yet
Thats called a power band man, the reed valve is fine, 85cc two strokes are all top end. Big bike two stroke have power valves that change the diameter of tr exhaust port to help bottom end. The 80s don’t have a power valve.
Austin Lucas no but vforce changed the power of my yz85 and pluss its bore dive rto 105 but he should out vforce reeds on there
No Relevance but my 1993 kx 250 piston kits Rings Clutch plates was mostly mirror image to me and my twin bro's 2001 kx 250, i gotta point out i like honda's simplicity, the weirdest 2 stroke we worked on was my mates 2002 Rm 250 it had so much Compression, even the forks were Hard Az F$@k and engine looked like a Diesel motors Coloring LMAO, This Quad turned out better than i was expecting BTW love the Channell well real life Name Red Beard Ya Repping Hard Brother!!!!!! Peace Out
Back in the day, I had an 1983 Suzuki RM 80 that hit all the power at once like that.
Great converation build I like the torque arm you added to it you definitely need it that's for sure
I
Auto correct strikes again
Another nice build guys, thanks.
Do a trike build on a CR 500 2 stroke that would be a beast
Ted Galligan yea he would wheelie with out trying to from all the power
Fourwheeler/dirt bike you adjust the chain with a rider on it because chain gets tighter when you sit on them. Great vids 👍
I had a cr85 big wheel, they are awesome, I dont think I would have traded the raptor for it but if your gonna use it more why not?
Raptor not running was worth what this was running so I figured it was a fair trade
I had a cr80 that thing ripped. best mod -1 tooth front sprocket wakes it right up.
It is a two stroke it has a power band where it gives it a boost and all the two strokes to I have been around are nothing or all
Nice bike to ride up the hills, nice work red.
I did something like this a couple years ago but I took the rear end off a four-wheeler still have the frame and everything but need a motor to put back on it
sick dude
Hey Red Beard that is what my middle son is going to be building for his Gf who can only get around so much without the use of her wheel chair. And he found a motor similiar to that one. She can shift easy but can't hold a bike up righ tyet. She is improving and her Dr is shocked seeing her walk around the room when she said who's paralyzed now. She can only walk about 100 feet and she has to lean against something or shit down to rest her feet.
I can't really say much about the setup of your new machine as I've never used the everlast mig.. However, it seems to be configured for post-flow gas. When you release the trigger, it'll continue to flow some gas after the arc has finished to continue cooling/shielding the weld. Personally.... Even as cheap as C25 gas is, I'd turn that off. Your current welding style isn't really benefiting from that anyway, so you'd save some gas by disabling post-flow gas. :)
So far I'm loving my powertig 210ext. Seems like it was a good purchase! Hopefully these things hold up! I'm looking at maybe getting the PowerPlasma 60s machine next!
Hey!! I just bought a 210 ext. How had yours held up these past 3 years? Loving mine so far but I have seen some reviews stating the high frequency goes out. Thoughts?
@@cripplekid0902 I'm embarrassed to report I haven't done much welding in my own shop for a couple years now. Moved into a new hosue spring 2020 and just haven't had the time (or money, given how much stuff costs these days!) to get my new garage wired up with 220. What little I've used it in the last few years, I still really like the machine. Really wish I could tell you I've run the thing really hard recently, but just haven't.
I love those little CR80's, my boys and I used to ride every weekend we could and my youngest had the CR80's oldest the cr125 after upgrading from the crf80 +125 but I drove my 250 and honestly I had more fun on my boys 80 out of all the bike we had well that and the crf80 but for different reasons the 80 was the perfect size to just mess around on and hit small jumps and just have fun and the crf80 was perfect for camping cuz it wasn't so loud and you could toss it in with the camping gear and still have room. On the CR80's you just had to know where it hit the power band and you were good to go. My bike was fun on long rides but the smaller buts were just more fun all around.
U should make your axles wider. It won't roll as easy. That thing is actually a lil sketchy like that. U always make your axles too short. Not giving ya shit. They should definitely be longer tjough
Jeremiah Arnold agreed considering they stopped making 3 wheelers because it's hard not to flip the fuckers,
So this is just as sketchy if not more considering the tire width is ridiculously smaller than a 3 wheelee
@Nimbus Nimbus yea thats the point i was making lol i agree
yes people, redbeard is on a motocross bike, this is epic guys!
I wanna see etard ride that thing lol
Bro after I lost 25 pounds this winter, then the snow melted & when I jumped back on my minibike it felt like a Hayabusa !! No kiddin
The v force reeds will make no difference. Its an 80 with no powervalve (exhaust valve) and its also designed for a 90 lb 12 year old to ride. A small 2 stroke will always be like this, either on or off with the power. Its designed to be ridden wide open on a mx track. With a small 2 stroke if your not on the brakes you better be wide open
ChrisG you are definitely right to a point. You also have to be very Zen with the clutch like the good kids are... barely shutting down the throttle in the corner just pulling the clutch and Feathering it out.
Wide open, red beard thinks it's a Briggs LMAO needs to loose about200lbs too notice the lil guy could ride it
ChrisG I'm 180 so they can run just as good all you need to do Is suspenshion
ChrisG yeah waste of money if they’re shot buy some cheap boyeson’s
Its 2 banger dude thats how they ride, stay on the pipe
Serious cringe when he said it was no power than all the power. 2 strokes do that
yeah, but it still should have enough to throw a nice rooster tail instantly, its not a natural lag on this one because its old. This one is rode hard and put away rusty, piston probably has scored the sleeve, clutch is definitely burnt, zero maintenance. It'll run even with a small hole in the piston.....before it shatters. could be just plain tired.....
Garrett Bright yeah especially 80’s and 125’s that’s just how they are
@@garyjohnson4575 All wrong, but hey, it is the youtube comments were people say all sorts of rubbish.
It was a fresh rebuild and running exactly how it was designed ruclips.net/video/XmyEkHVQCqw/видео.html
The stupid alert. "serious cringe" when you yourself agree that's how they are. He knew that's how they are, he was telling the audience...
It's a really sweet build , congrats .
It’s called a reed cage!
turn the heat up a little on the welder. im glad you put the flat bar on the square tube
I wonder how the swing arm bushing will hold up
David Bryson I was wondering the same thing
This was a cool build, looks like a lot of fun, seen a few 3 wheelers around my town with dirt bike front ends, and a guy I know put a banshee rear end on a Kawasaki street bike
the "no power, all the power" thing is called a powerband
When the power hits that’s called a power band all 2 stroke dirt bikes has it
Bro I love you video
The sound that lil bike did when it had to carry his body wight up the hill😂🏃🏽
sounds like it's got some gnarly piston slap. replace the top end
Josh Rips No wonder, cus its running so fucking lean
How can you tell??
Best look and best performance i have seen was they used a 4 wheeler swing arm
It is called a powerband!!!!!!!!
Thomas Lenhart yes you should order a box of them.
@@mikelyons7511 🤣
This is the whole reason I'm subbed to Red 😁 didn't ruin a dirt bike and still made a bad ass trike!
Thank you sir
80CC 2stroke vs 212 prededor, we all know who would win.
anajay78 is that even a question?
anajay78 80 cc two stroke win
Yeah that 212 would smoke that two strokes ass
Jacob Managhan big wrong
Damon Bettcher it’s just a joke simmer
very glad to see you getting into dirtbikes
Bro, build a 212cc death row kit motorized bicycle.
I'm glad they added hauled in the video when she said drove that mini bike from Texas to Tennessee😂
V force reeds are for people who are scared of 2 strokes
The Real Bubbles 👍 fuck yeah
Riding just about every different type of dirt bike, it's safe to say 80/85cc 2 strokes have the hardest hitting powerband of any bike.
Y’all better not ruin an already great Cr80
Shift down and you will find the POWER!!! it comes with riding experience!
Rode my YZ 125 Wide Open EVERYWHERE! 90MPH EVERYWHERE I COULD!
She had all Athena Hardware, and she neber locked up, not once! though the last time i pulled it apart the Teflon coated piston was cracked.
Where you clamp the rotor disc and chain sprocket to the round axle did you rough it up or is it as smooth as it came I feel it could slip even torqued right tight.
Alex V-i-P probably its with a keyway like gocarts do
Mini 4 Stroke yea u can see the key way on the axle
That things nice you guys work fast holy moly
Alright
One of your best projects to date! Please get some drone footage, it would be awesome to see the ride from a drone.
Stop the engine braking!
Nico van Duin a tiny bit of engine braking is fine but not recommended
No problem how he did it, unless you don't know your 2 strokes? Silly people seem to think they'll break if you look at them wrong.
Run .030 wire and c02/argon mix. The angle of the nozzle also makes a difference
That is what we are running
ChuckE2009 for the welder
Everytime I hear that 2-stroke sound it reminds me of Terminator
Yes sir.
Just a little constructive criticism.. you should really get a better logo, you'd sell a lot more merch. Right now it's just some letters thrown together. You need something to represent what you do, what your channel is all about. Picture of a kart, engine, buggy, tools, bikes, tires, etc. Something more than just letters. Trust me on this, been in the logo design biz for 20 years.
I have several logos we just aren't big enough to sell merch properly yet. That logo is the cheapest
I actually disagree the current RGB logo grabs a lot of attention every time I wear the hat people ask me what it is and I get to spread the word! Exactly what merchandise is designed to do!
You made my point, thanks. They shouldn't HAVE to ask what it is. lmao
Maybe we could just go door to door and hand out leaflets
Refuge Inc.if you're really in the "biz"
You'd offer better advice than just saying it doesn't work.
I have doubts on your credibility sad to say
Awesome! I'm turning my CCW Misfit into trike with swing arm and rear axle from Ali Express.
Put a cr80 motor on a honda atc70
gordo66061 engine
I agree with you. I have a Yamaha blaster and it does the same thing and it is mint. Just the power band. 2 stroke do that.
I’m sorry but I would of fixed the power loss not do that axel crap on it
He did that while waiting for parts , not instead of fixing the problem it had, when you own more shit than you can ride in one day, you find yourself building motors that run perfectly fine and doing hybrid motor swaps and making dirt bikes into trikes or trikes into quads or quads into go karts , two wheel drive into 4x4 and for no good reason at all besides why not.
I can see both side to this here. 😌
Great job brò..Love num 34 in honda is a dream from..80's...kevin schwantz forever!!
First comment love ur vids
Pretty neat build Y'ALL. I like it and I also like that it only took you 6hrs to build it from scratch too. Very nicely done guys. Needs brackets and mounts for rear fenders now.
Re you going to do a video on that as well.
