The real LT was leaving training camp at lunch time towards the tail end of his career. The players had just finished signing autographs and were leaving in their cars. LT was in a car with Rodney Hampton and saw my 7 year old son motioning to him because he didn't get his Giants football signed. LT had Hampton stop the car, got out and signed the football. My son hugged his leg and LT patted him on his head with a big smile. My son now lives in Texas, but he will always be an LT and a NY Giants fan. So when you hear about the bad things LT may have done, know that the guy did a lot of good things that went unnoticed.

If you slow it down and watch closely you can see he stepped into the hit and used the full force of his entire body, with all of his muscles working together from the leg up. You can get massive, instant power from that kind of technique, as Bruce Lee used to demonstrate with his famous "one-inch punch." I think Taylor was a lot like Lee: not just strong, but blessed with a kind of innate physical awareness that led to perfectly-coordinated strength with amazing explosive power. Yaahboi52 Alan Page was the 1968 MVP. He played Defensive end for the Vikings.
That would have been Alan Page first...LT second to do it
Being a Giant fan it was easy to acknowledge how incredible he was. Every week he did something you never saw before. He was the best athlete on the field every Sunday. So I am playing golf last year in South Florida at the Royal palms and there he is. Just as I roll up on the first tee he is teeing off. Nothing but smiles
still the best damn video / song / collaboration for LT and any player.
That’s why he won the MVP , only him and Alan Page have won it , since the start of giving the award out in 1957. LT, was fearless and fierce.
I remember when he played with a broken ankle and was still the best player on defense
He also had 3 sacks with a separated shoulder!
Imagine being a quarterback in the 80s for the nfc east
No! I will not do that!
This is my absolute favorite vid of yours. Its damn near life changing
God! I miss this type of NY GIANTS football!
I remember my dad said watch him .and hes a Raider Fan. But also a fan of real talent in the NFL.
The way that camera man cowered at 30 secs is hilarious. I don’t know much about NFL, but this guy looks a right monster.
I believe LT was pissed at missing the tackle or getting blocked on the play before...I don't know what was going on in the idiot camera man's head trying to get up close on LT when he was piping hot mad...no coach or staff even dared to do that...they always let him shake it off before talking to him.
Gurvinder Parmar - agreed. In any sport it’s ridiculous to put a camera in someone’s face who is clearly not in the mood.
The track is perfect to this and great video man. The fact that LT looks like he’s going in full motion still when it’s all slow replay tells you something. LT was a freak!! He’s the number 1 reason NFL teams pay top dollar to protect their QB, Sir LT!! Love this vid mate
best LB of all time... big bad men absolutely scared shitless on game day...
Thank you L.T. #56. Some of the greatest times I ever had was watching the Giants. I go way back to Yankee Stadium days so this video got me going big time. Just a quick one years back my brother who was about 9 or 10 at the time comes into the kitchen and my Dad said "Son what's that in your ear?" Brother said, " Lawerence Taylor wears one." End of conversation. Just remember #56 running out that tunnel #56!!! ❤⚪💙
LT was the most intimidating player to ever play the game the opposing team was legit scared of this dude including the camera man lol
Still, the best edited LT highlight vid I’ve ever seen. And, I’ve seen’em all
The greatest football player of all time
Better than ray Lewis??? Or
Most likely the greatest football player of all time. At the height of his career nobody could stop him from getting to his target. The dominance, strength, speed and intimadation was unmatched.
LT is the definition of a legend
man you need to make more videos just like this one. gives you chills watching. Great video bro.
No disrespect to the JJ’s and modern players but this guy played at another lever of ferocity I’ve never seen before or since. There’s no one in his category. Ray Lewis close, but not at the same speed. Put together a similar video of any of them, nothing like LT.
Lewis was not as scary as LT I agree, he didnt have LTs natural strength either. Look at how he projects a grown NFL player into the air during a disagreement at 0:26. Thats freaky strength.
Now I see why he had a perfect guest spot in “The Waterboy”
The Mike Tyson of the NFL
This is a GREAT video!! Told the whole story without uttering a word!
LT was a real man playing "pro-football"
It's like walking out the front door of a log cabin and being taken down by a charging Grizzly bear going full speed.
LT …The only person in football who scared everyone on both sides of the ball..Guaranteed…
Title should say "A real football player L.T"
That last play towards the end!!! Got damn!!! LT cleaned his clock!!!
The best player in the history NFL.
This guy played at an entirely different level than everyone else. An alpha predator who preyed on other predators. There will never be another LT.
The greatest outside linebacker in the history of the National Football League
1st round pick by the New York football Giants in 1981
1982 Rookie Of the year
3 Defensive Player of the year awards
1986 MVP
2 super bowl championship rings
No never
I'm an Eagles fan. My favorite football player ever will always be LT. Hated playing against him but loved to watch him play.
1:27 LT bull rushes one of the Redskins "Hogs"-- massive 300+ offensive linemen they had in the 80's-- might be Jacoby-- and damn near drives him backwards on his ass-- about 2 yards on the initial contact--- LT was a beast-- too bad today's NFL is such a joke and nobody out there can do what LT did back in the day!!
He had super human strength ... the man was phenomenal! Once a century talent/human.
It’s Jim lachey
Yeah I noticed that too docinohio, that's just dumb strong!
docinohio you are correct,he went through him like butter !
They used to call the Cowboy's defense the " doomsday defense "
Lawrence Taylor was doomsday all by himself
At 27 seconds in this man without basically any momentum flung a most likely 250 to 260 lb fullback to the ground like it was nothing
Forget about that. Look at what he did to Mark Tuinei of the Cowboys. Mark is an all pro 300 plus lineman and LT Tossed him like a rag doll. 1:55
Add to that a bunch of cocaine, and you get something out of this world.
In order to be the best, you have to be fearful and fearless.
He was just so much better than anyone else it’s crazy
