Hi Daniel, just found the time to catch up on a few videos and of course I had to check your version of my bowl. It came out great, you did an amazing job my friend. Quick question, why do you go in with steel wool before you use the abrasive paste? Anyway one again, great video, all the best, Mike
Thank you for watching and for inspiring me. I used the steel wool just to de-nib the sanding sealer to help with the abrasive paste doing the final process.
That's really nice, Daniel. I never would have thought of that shaving cream idea or that it would work that well. Tung Wax Kit. See you next video. Bill
Nice colors! I think it is great when woodworkers venture beyond just natural wood. Some good coloring additives are out there. Tung Wax Kit would be nice to have :)
Toung Wax fit. What a good looking finish. I'm a follower of Mike Holton as well and enjoyed watching your version of the psychedelic coloring. I'm John up north of you in Anchorage, Alaska.
Tongue whacks kit. Am I still qualified??? 🤪 just kidding, no need to enter. Just making a joke. Excellent piece my man. It's been wonderful to see you grow with your abilities! 👊 Glad to have played a part in it.
Very cool, Daniel. I love the look of that technique, it looks awesome! I'm finally catching up, I feel like I'm the Anti-Huw and should start commenting "Last" to counter all of his "1sts" haha I wouldn't mind trying Brad's tung wax kit, it looks like good stuff. Take care!
Thanks, amd good luck. It doesn't dry know the piece. Right after I pulled it out of the shaving foam, I scraped it off with a squeege. The dyes had already gotten into the wood, so they did not streak or anything.
Shaving with a Tung Wax Kit might be hard but this reminds me of a song that used to be on Dr Demento Shaving Cream: Shaving cream, be nice and clean Shave everyday and you'll always look keen
Love it Daniel. I watched Mike's video a couple of months ago. One question; How long did you leave it before turning the middle out? Take care my friend. Cheers, Huw
Thanks, Huw! I turned the middle out within 10 minutes, tops. The intrinsic dyes dry very quickly, and didn't even move when I scraped the foam off with the squeegee.

Thanks, brother!!! I appreciate you!
Looks awesome Double D. 😎
I don't know if I need another Tung Wax Kit. 😉
Thanks, Tim! And one can NEVER have too much of Brad's Tung on their wood.
Good luck!
Very interesting one
Thanks, Brad! I appreciate your support!
beautiful result Daniel. that pennywise is really clear... creepy :)
I think so too! Glad you noticed!!!
Now I'm not a fan of coloring perfectly good wood but that's me. The Tung Wax Kit seems like an ideal way to finish any type of bowl.
Cheers, Stuart
Thank you, Stuart. I haven't done a lot of coloring previously. This was relatively plain maple, so I didn't feel too bad about it.
Good luck!
Your colors came out very nice. I’ve seen a couple of others who did not have very good results. Anyway, well done!
Thank you, Doug! I appreciate the feedback!

Thanks and good luck, Chris!
Tung wax kit. Beautiful work. I don’t see how the shaving cream and color dries on the wood.
Thanks, amd good luck. It doesn't dry know the piece. Right after I pulled it out of the shaving foam, I scraped it off with a squeege. The dyes had already gotten into the wood, so they did not streak or anything.

Shave everyday and you'll always look keen
Hahahaha! Dr. Demento had great stuff!!!
Thanks for the feedback and good luck!
How did the mylands compare to the shellac, it appears to have a orange peel texture?
I think the mylands goes on smoother and knocks back a little better, but thats just how I feel it worked.
Love it Daniel.
I watched Mike's video a couple of months ago.

@@TournageDubois Thank you
Super bowl DD, can Tung wax be got in the UK ??
Thanks, Douglas! Currently it is not available in the UK. Hopefully someday!
After dipping it in the shaving cream how long did you let it dry before turning out the centre.
I turned it out pretty quickly. The intrinsic paint dries super quickly, so I didn't waste time. Would have been within 5 minutes.
@@TournageDubois thanks
No problem!!!!
Tung Wax Kit is alway reliable
Yes it is!!! Good luck!
