Hi, I'm a professional pianist and conservatoire graduate, and I rate this playing highly and will be using this video for any grade 6 pupils who want to decide their pieces. There is a lot of crap on youtube with this sort of thing (particularly regarding rhythmic control), but this is played really well. Thank you!
Thank you for your comment, I'm happy you liked the video! If you're interested, I have also recorded the other grades and they're all available on my channel ruclips.net/channel/UCWyfOLpBtvVTaGwe_x4-U7wvideos Thanks!
I am playing for my exam PescettiandI think it is such a fun piece to play. I played it in legato but after listening to you I am changing it to muchmore staccato as I think it has way more texture and is more authentic. It was for an harpsichord after all. Thank you for your playing. Very encouraging and reassuring.
I have got 4 pieces pretty much done now Jill...I have found page d'album the toughest by far...watching you has helped me immensely :-)...really got to crack on with getting my grade 5 theory done now so I can get grade 6 done...finding theory a mountain to climb :-(
@@jillmortonpianist Hi Jill yes I have my piano teacher...I have all the grade theory books and have been following an online course....I wish I could speak italian french and german...be a bit easier then :-)
I wish I was faster with learning my grade 5 pieces for the 2021 -2022 syllabus, the pieces for grade 6 are great, but I don't think ill be able to learn the syllabus pieces by the end of the year. I'll have to do the 2023/2024 ones.
Thanks a lot for your sharing! 🙏🏻 They are so excellent! 👏🏻👏🏻I am preparing for my ABRSM Grade 6 exam, I found that it is very useful for me. It will be the best if you could share to us other pieces in the examination syllabus too. 😉

Brilliant. This has convinced me to go ABRSM route, thank you. A great reference
Great, good luck with it!

Theory doesn’t have to be a mountain, have you got someone to guide you?

Don't worry if you don't manage - the Grade 6 23/24 pieces are fantastic! I'll be recording them in the next few days so look out for them!

I will try, I need to finish off all the Trinity syllabus first though!
I need a3 pls
If you go into the description, A3 should be tagged. Or please follow this link ruclips.net/video/BX_53WGdcCE/видео.html
Thanks for watching!
Thanks
Really useful was going to go for C1: Opening Night Jazz but hearing C3: Lavender field played very well might change over
They’re both really different but effective pieces. Why don’t you try both then decide later which one to choose?
@@jillmortonpianist afraid jazz wins. Lavender beautiful and learnt it for fun ! But the jazz just too much fun to play around with.
Not really complete, just the selection in the published ABRSM booklet.
Watching you Jill...makes me realise how rubbish I am at piano :-(
Please don’t think of it like that. Try to use the videos as inspiration to help you get better.
When are the exams ?
There are many opportunities to take the exam either face to face or remotely. You're best to have a look at the ABRSM website. Good luck!
