Well Tom and Jerry have spoken before in the cartoons but only for comedic effect or to move the conflict along, they never overly speak like they do in the movie
@@theduckgoesmoo is not that tom and Jerry didn't talk , is only in some episodes not every day and Tom voice is ok as well as Jerry but it shouldn't have happened in this movie. The only way to have tom and Jerry talk is if they had a puppet version of Tom and Jerry but they didn't so it was pointless to have them talk though the movie .
Probably my favourite Tom & Jerry movie is thier version of The Nutcracker. It wasn’t a line-for-line remake, but rather fully embraces the wacky and slapstick nature of Tom & Jerry. It was practically a Holiday tradition when I was younger. Plus, Tom & Jerry don’t talk.
If you're wondering about the Mindfuck phenomenon that Doug brings up in this review, he has a Top 11 list for the biggest nostalgic Mindfucks. Just a celebration of the weirdest moves and choices made in children's entertainment!
Not to mention the "I'm not sick but I'm not well" sequence being seamlessly edited out due to copyright that was supposed to follow right after that line: ruclips.net/video/4VWZoVjv7L0/видео.html
Still can't believe someone thought it was a good idea! At least the Wizard of Oz crossover worked them in, whereas they contribute nothing in the Willy Wonka crossover, not to mention the not-Slugworth guy!
Congrats on finishing these requests. Also, I let know, that I let both Doug and Rob how you enjoyed these reviews. I was going to wait until after this reaction, but it was Rob's last day as they were moving the stream to a new day when he wouldn't be able to make it as often. They're both happy you enjoyed yourself (wish I could show the link, but RUclips blocks my comments with Twitch links). As for request, I think it might be time to put it up for a vote. People in the Spawn video were requesting Devil People in the Chipmunk video were requesting Jem and the Holograms and me, I request Michael Bay's Pearl Harbor as a belated Memorial Day reaction. Again, maybe it's best to let the people decide on this.
@Order and Madness Howard the Duck was perfected in Guardians of the Galaxy as a joke cameo. That movie. Made by the guy that did Star Wars. Original AND Prequels (for better or worse). Was nightmarish even in review form. I dont think the not so subtle ready to commit the self unalive sudoku treatment gag was far off from anyone's actual reaction. My friends put that on one night when it was on Netflix years back before I even saw the review. It didn't last fifteen minutes and neither did my psyche.
I... completely forgot that it was a musical. EDIT: I also completely forgot that he had the chase section of the movie set to Flagpole Sitta by Harvey Danger
I haven't seen this movie in ages! Not since I had it on vhs, but I loved it growing up. I remember watching some of the classic Tom and Jerry episodes where Tom would sing trying to woo female cats(only time he would speak) or other characters talked instead. Certainly threw me off guard XD But mom and me would sings the songs from the movie a lot.
This was the first Nostalgia Critic video I've ever watched. Still one of my favorites. Though I must admit (while they have no place in Tom and Jerry) the songs are a bit of a guilty pleasure. Damn copyright bots cut out the best part of the review @ 12:58. It was a montage of the chase scene set to Flagpole Sitta by Harvey Danger.
You should watch these Nostalgia Critic reviews Neverending Story 2 and 3 Superman Returns Disney Afternoon Toonami Fox Kids Moulin Rouge Les Miserbles Freddy vs Jason
Wait, is Superman Returns the one with that really long Malcom stare? Because that joke is both amazing and horrifying, and I really wanna see that reaction. I also second Moulin Rouge, because IMO it's NC's best musical review.
I have an unpopular opinion: I don't mind the songs that much; they just shouldn't be attached to Tom and Jerry. Even then, they're nothing special. Other than that, nothing can truly save this film.
2:44 It's probably flesh, meat. And.....I don't see any bloodpools, so, what's wrong? But yes, it's kinda strange, that usually there's grey color, like he's made of glue and there's red meat.
I think it’s wonderful that Tom and Jerry actually talk for the first time in a long time. I love the movie and I only wish they added more characters we know and love.
as bad as this movie is a few songs are really good as much as much older, more angry NC was back in the day. like as painfully dumb as the "Money is great" song is, the singers and tone sound pretty good and the best song is "God's Little Creatures". it sounds so good that it sucks it's in this movie.
I grew up with Tom and Jerry as well as this movie to be honest. I was never concerned about them talking since we *seen* them talk before in the cartoon. I am a little confused about how surprised they were though considering they should’ve already known, Tom keeping Jerry up with his love song was literally the premise for an episode. The lack of talking is a common thing associated with the show but it was never 100% accurate.
For me, I just can't hate it. It's almost like looking into some alternate universe where Tom and Jerry were taken in by Disney. Even today, I still see "Friends to the End" as Warner Bros' "Hakuna Matata," which is funny because NC hates THAT song too.
I actually used to own this movie on VHS and honestly..... I love this movie. Yeah sure the girl, Robin, was completely useless and unnecessary, but Tom and Jerry can't really make a full narrative on their own. I also like the voices, it's absolutely fantastic and fit the roles perfectly. I know I'm in a minority on this, but I quote this movie a lot even today. You can claim nostalgia goggles, but this is one of my guilty pleasure movies
I don't like a lot of those types of cartoons now because I've now realised how futile it is to invest time in something with no progression. Still have a soft spot for Coyote and Roadrunner tho!
I Love this Movie Growing Up with my Sibling as we Rewatch it,Now I Find it Both Underrated and Overrated that I had Laugh so Hard, also can you Review Batman and Robin and Mortal Kombat,First Street Fighters, and Mortal Kombat Annihilation Together please.
I’m not a fan of Tom and Jerry as I prefer Looney Tunes and Studio Ghibli. This review is hilarious, though. I personally like musicals but this is an atrocious musical movie though not the worst, oddly enough.
I watched this movie when it first came out. I watched the Nastalgia Critic review it when he posted the video. I watched your reaction to the video and I got to say, They really missed their mark with this movie when, years down the road, I remember both you and The Nastalgia Critic having the exact same reaction to one scene than any plot point in the entire movie.
I dont generally like tom and jerry.. its supposed to be a reverse take on cat vs mouse, big bully vs little guy.. but too often the mouse is the bully and instigator. Too much of it was genuinely mean spirited. So i generally didnt like most episodes.
Well Tom and Jerry have spoken before in the cartoons but only for comedic effect or to move the conflict along, they never overly speak like they do in the movie
True
Tom has sung too
dont you believe it
I still hate it

It's not a good Oz film, but a good Time and Jerry cartoon.
Tom and Jerry did talk in the original show on occasion. Never to this extent but it’s weird they’re so confused about it.
mine is the Robin Hood one. it was so good.

Just be forewarned, in Doug does almost break character and get literal red-faced angry in that review.

Yaaaay more classic NC! Thanks a billion! Another great one from the older era is Captain Planet I think you’d find it really funny!
It felt more like a weird Don Bluth film that just happened to have Tom and Jerry along for the ride and they decided to slap their name to it.
Watch the video have the mindfuck
