Here are some interesting facts about some shows: -Gargoyles existence was due to Gummi Bears. Originally the show was supposed to be a modern version of Gummi Bears. The gargoyles would all be small mischievous characters. Thankfully they went a different route. -Chip & Dale not only talked about cults but unintentionally created one. It turns out that was intentional. Apparently the character was supposed to cross over into the third final film, and reveal that they were actually long-lost brothers. That plot was altered because sadly the voice actor of Mozenrath committed suicide.
His criticism of Bonkers being derivative of Roger Rabbit neglects to mention one thing: Bonkers was originally SUPPOSED to be a Roger Rabbit show, but because Roger Rabbit was a joint property with Disney and Warner Brothers, the red tape was too much of a hassle for them to deal with, so they just invented Bonkers as a way of doing a Roger Rabbit show without Roger Rabbit.
Doug's passive aggressive towards Bonkers got on my nerves as Bonkers's voice got on he's and it's not even that bad a voice! It's a good show and now that Doug declared it "unwatchedable" most people won't even talk about it, even though it was one of the first shows on Disney+ opening day! don't always listen to critics unless you know it's gonna be bad and Bonkers is far from Bad.
Bonkers has a rough history. Changing shoe runners in the middle of production. The original show runner himself said it was Roger Rabbit inspired but was never intended to be a Roger Rabbit show. I find it interesting that he went on to create Gargoyles.
@@theduckgoesmoo Fun fact: Bill Fagerbakke, the voice of Patrick Star from SpongeBob voiced Broadway in Gargoyles and I gotta tell you, there's nothing funnier that hearing Patrick Star yell "What is this? A new kind of gun?! A new way to kill people?! Who gave it to you!!!???"

@@theduckgoesmoo Disney steered away from shows of it's tone. No other Disney animated series has been made like it since. Granted there are dark Disney cartoons like Gravity Falls and some episodes of the 2017 Ducktales reboot, but none match that rich, Gothic tone of Gargoyles. But Disney rebooted Ducktales and made a live action Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers movie, so anything is possible
@theduckgoesmoo It’s actually rather sad what happened. There was fallout with the staff after the death of the Disney president of that time and to add onto the struggle the public trial of O.J. Simpson stole audience attention. By that point they couldn’t compete with other popular shows like Power Rangers. The result led to a short season 3 and then it was canceled. I highly recommend it though, it’s one of the only shows that can compete with Avatar when it comes to quality.
At the start, Malcom said "Doug", a sort of cartoon sitcom from Nickelodeon. And with it being the critics real name, he was relentlessly teased because of that show, leading him to have an absolute HATRED for it's very existence.

I'm always called a ginger because I'm a redhead. I roll with it now and make the souless ginger jokes myself. Speaking of yours looks wonderful in my collection.
To be fair, the Mighty Ducks cartoon was a pretty good action show for the time. But yeah, from the first time i watched it onwards, i never was able to figure out its connection to the team or why it had so much to do with hockey.
"How do these odd characters have kids?" Man, spend a couple days going out and people watching. You'll be amazed at how many fucking weird people have had multiple kids
Now you’ve gotten a crash course in all of these shows. A mixture of shows from the Late 80’s to the late 90’s. A lot of nostalgic memories for me for some of these shows. One of them got a reboot in 2017 “Ducktales”.
Gargoyles is easily the best TV series, animated or otherwise, that Disney has _ever_ produced. I'm totally not biased due to the Scottish characters and mythology, what would give you that idea~? It had two excellent seasons, a non-canon third season, and a brief run as an indie comic book. To this day, lead creator Greg Weisman is _still_ trying to negotiate with Disney to continue the story.
Gargoyles were so good even by today's standards (especially by today's standards). Btw, the grandma at the end was Linkara, it would be cool to do a reaction to some of his reviews someday.
6:29 - Natasha Fatale was the female cohort to Boris Badenov, and they were the villains of the Rocky & Bullwinkle show. 6:42 - Ahhh, The Wicker Man. A Nic Cage movie that NC has done a review on. You should definitely check that one out. I'd be surprised if you don't at least know of the meme that the movie spawned.
Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck, Gargoyles, Mighty Ducks were all apart of my childhood. I had a few vhs for the Aladdin and The Little Mermaid tv series. 😁
You should check out the nostalgic critics review of gargoyles. The show was surprisingly serious at times and dealt with some villains that did some really horrible things. For example one of the villains who is a gargoyle turned everybody in New York to Stone at night. And there’s a scene where she’s just happily walking through the streets destroying statues. Sometimes with a mace sometimes with a laser gun, there’s one statue she shoots the arms off of and walks away. And the really twisted part in the morning The humans are no longer stone.
@@HB-fq9nn I think it was from his ferry short run series “Raiders of the story arc“ It was something he was trying out when he first started doing nostalgia critic videos.
He used to be the Affleck duck. There was a period of time where they didn't have the duck say hardly anything at all, starting with the silent film throwback commercial until they found a new one ever since he spoke a very raunchy/grotesque joke.
If you remember in Yu-Gi-Oh The Abridged Series Marik’s brother/2nd in command was obsessed with Gummi Bears specifically the Gummi Bears in this video. Also I remember most of these shows you yes they did exist. The reason NC had such a reaction to Doug is because he got made fun of because he and the MC in Doug shared the same name (shown in his Nicktoons video), the cutaway to him running after Casper was from his review of the Casper Movie, and he apparently has an eyeworm for the Duck Tales theme song
Yes there was an Aladin Series, I gotta say it had some interesting concepts like a giant Shark that swims through the sand with "the treasure of a thousand Sultans" pressed into it's belly. But yeah the series follows after the Aladdin sequel "Return of Jafar" where they made the change in Genie actors, probably to better fit the longer run of a cartoon series. But Robin Williams did return for the third movie "the King of Thieves"
I used to give Doug way more credit than I do now. He made good points about Goof Troop and Bonkers, but then after that, it seems like he just got older than the shows' target audiences and since he remembered not liking them, he just made up complaints. How's he gonna complain about Dan Castellaneta's performance as Genie in Aladdin? Yeah, it was a tv show, so the writing wasn't always up to par, but Dan's ALWAYS gave it his A game and his performance usually made even the mediocre lines go over alright.
Oh the nostalgia. I grew up in Australia. But I had Austar (Foxtel) so thankfully I had access to Disney channel, Cartoon Network & Nickelodeon. We also had Saturday Disney on Normal TV and Cheez TV on weekday morning for cartoons and anime like Pokemon, Digimon, Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon & James Bond Jr ( Yeah that was a thing) etc.
6:38 His review of Wicker Man. That's all I'll say. 25:25 His review of Casper. For full context, you'll have to watch the video on ThatGuyWithTheGlassses. His old channel.
6:37 - This clip is basically audio from Doug doing his Nice Cage impression dubbed over a scene from The Wicker Man, and in this scene, Nicolas Cage runs up to a woman while dressed in a bear suit and knocks her the f*ck out. The scene is from the same movie where "The Bees!" came from, and NC covered it during Nicolas Cage Month, and it's one of the main reasons I keep recommending Nostalgia Critic's Nicolas Cage Month. Seriously, I'm not saying do it all in one sitting, but it's hilarious and I know you'll like it.
If it helps, there was a revamped version of the DuckTales cartoon that came out in... I think 2017 or 2018, the premise was the same but with a modern twist and even giving 3 of the protags from the old show; Huey, Dewey, and Louie a lot more character and depth compared to their 90s counterparts. Even bringing in a bunch of characters not just from the original Duck Tales as callbacks, but also characters from Darkwing Duck, and TaleSpin, Chip and Dale, and even made a subtle reference to the Gummi Bears show in one episode... It was a giant love letter to all the original 90s Disney shows at the time.
When he mentioned the Cola Cult episode, I was like "Hmm, don't remember that" and then he played the song and suddenly it unlocked in my brain and I said "Oh shoot! I remember that!"
What, you thought we went from headphones to air pods? No, those are ear buds. They've existed for years before air pods but air pods were such a huge deal most people seem to forget that ear buds existed. I even went to walmart for a pair and asked this lady who looked like a boomer if they had any ear buds. She legit gave me a weird look and asked me if I meant air pods. Ear buds are still sold in stores, as cheap as $5. They don't need to be charged and don't need a Bluetooth connection, so they're great for plane rides if you don't get the connecting cable in a knot or hooked with someone's armrest. 😂
So theres an old running joke from the early days of NC. Basically there was an old cartoon called Doug and since Doug is his name irl people would tease him by humming the theme song or making references to it when he was in school. So in some of the early NC episodes he would play it up like hearing the theme song caused him PTSD. Thats why it cut to Malcom with a black eye at 2:40-2:45
Disney afternoon was before our time Duck. We were 1-2 in the late 90’s. And my memory is consumed of Arthur, Dragon Tales, Sesame Street, and Veggietales from that time. And that might even be 2000s at that point and not 90’s. And I have a rock solid memory. We didn’t experience the notorious 90’s. We got the aftershocks. Also have you thought of watching FMA 03? Kinda feel like you missed that experience after watching Brotherhood 1st. I heard you mention Brotherhood again and it got my head thinking about the 03 version. It’s just as good if you ask me. Also the brief clip you saw of Doug Walker dressed as a Ghost Buster was when he reviewed Casper the Friendly Ghost. One of my favorite gags he’s ever done.
@@theduckgoesmoo god remember freaking Ringo Starr was the NARRATOR of that show?! That’s just a reality that hit me when I was in my later teens. The drummer of one of the most influential bands of all time was a childhood show narrator.
To be fair, it wasn't so much they replaced Robin Williams with Homer Simpson as much as Robin and Disney had a huge falling out after Alladin. Basically, and to be honest there is more too it than this but, Robin agreed to a paycut to be in Alladin if he wasn't marketed as being in it more than he was. He was in about 25 percent of the movie so Disney agreed to only use him in 25% of the advertising. They quickly went back on that word and also were upset that he was in an other animated property at the same time despite the fact that Robin agreed to be in that first. That is why he isn't in Alladin 2 but because he made amends by Alladin 3 he was in that. Lindsay Sterling does a great video essay on it on RUclips which kinda ties in considering she started off as Nostalgia Chick.
I’ve lived in a city my entire life and have had zero rules. I played M rated video games when I was 7 and had my own tv in my room for as long as I can remember
My brother split my dad's forehead open with my drumsticks when he was a toddler. He was playing with my drumsticks and my dad made the mistake of looking away. When he looked back he whacked him right between the eyes and busted him open. He still has the scar. Kids do hurt.
Yes, there was a lion king TV show. Every 90s Disney movie had a spin off shoe. Lion king, Aladdin, jungle book characters(tail spin), care bears, goofy, etc
I don't know if anyone mentioned much of this but there was this Ducktales Reboot that's actually pretty well liked and improves on the characters but it also has bits of the rest of the Disney Afternoon here and there, the Gummy Bears were an ancient race and the villains were after their juice for their own purposes, the Rescue Rangers were originally non-sapient lab rodents who had their intelligence enhanced by the villains' experiments and went off on their own adventures, Don Carnage appears as a recurring villain and arch nemesis to Dewey (The Blue duck kid) and the kids from Talespin appear in the show being all grown up and even having history with the duck boys' mother, Darkwing Duck was a show within the show that had a botched movie reboot and the new actor brought it to life by becoming an IRL (still in-universe) Darkwing Duck, they have an episode that references Quack Pack and sitcom shows with Goofy in his Goof Troop attire as a guest star, Bonkers is shown as a police officer in the city Darkwing operates at and is shown being menaced by supervillains, we even have Mickey Mouse appearing by not appearing in the form of a Mickey shaped melon that Donald Duck puppets while imitating Mickey's voice and mannerisms and even Gargoyles gets in on it with this Gargoyle horse creature voiced by Goliath's voice actor and even saying his iconic line, at least I think that was it.
Please oh PLEASE look up the following from Wren and Stimpy: LOG Song and Happy Happy Joy Joy. Even out of context (and there is a LOT of context for BOTH) they are a joy to watch and even as a college student in the 90's we adored this cartoon. Nick was indeed Disney's edgier cousin.
- Actually another one of the re-uploaded reviews. Came out in 2014 - To be fair majority of these I hadn't watched or heard of either. Only ones I was aware of were Gargoyles, Duck Tales and Timon & Pumbaa. First 2 learnt from other Critic videos - Check out his Wicker Man review for full context of Nicholas Cage bear. Comes with some of his best bear jokes - 25:25 Ending of his original review of Casper
A couple jokes you missed - the Nostalgia Critic's real name is Doug Walker, hence the appeal of "DW", and his absolute *hatred* of "Doug", as the show caused him a lot of teasing as a kid. The toys included in cereal were generally not great quality - the ones you had to mail in box tops for were a step up, but not by much. Also, give his review of "A Goofy Movie" a watch - he put it pretty well, in that because it was *dripping* '90s culture, it actually became kinda timeless as a result.
Jim Cummings did a lot of voices in the Disney Afternoon. Gummi Bears - Took over Zummi Gummi after Paul Winchell retired. Duck Tales - El Capitan Chip n Dale's Rescue Rangers - Monterey Jack (2nd season), Fat Cat, Norton Nimnul, Newt, other characters TaleSpin - Don Karnage Darkwing Duck - Darkwing Duck, Negaduck, other characters Goof Troop - Pete, other characters Bonkers - Bonkers, Lucky, other characters Aladdin - Razul, other characters Timon and Pumbaa - Ed, other characters
Dan Castellaneta as the Genie actually kinda works if you watch the show itself. The problem is that anyone trying to replace Robin Williams in any role is going to come up short by comparison.
Natasha is one of the villains from Rocky and Bullwinkle. A show about a moose and a flying squirrel trying to stop 3 villains from ruling the world. You probably won't know it because it was made in the 60s.
ducks are big in disney, having their own mythology pretty much, it's all thanks to a comic book artist named carl barks who strove to explain the donald's entire family tree as well as giving him his well known adventurous personality, he's even the creator of huey, dewy and louie the famous scrooge mcduck as well as said richest duck in the world's rouge's gallery, even freaking Daisy, yeah she did not exist until 6 years after donald was first introduced to the world of animation
Me at the intro: "Now, one thing is missing a very good movie that made history (Roger Rabbit)... but I'm really scared to question it... what sad (TV) childhood did you had!?" 12:35 "YOU NEVER SAW BAMBI!? THAT'S SAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa... actually... Guys, would you say that NOT watching Bambi makes your childhood less sad than watching it? (I can't say it cause THAT scene didn't affect me because it was a very old dub, in another language, btw, so the you-know-what was mistaken by me for a drammatic trombone)"
30:18 Yes, believe it or not there was an Aladdin TV series based on the Hit Animated movie of the same name. The people who worked on this show also worked on the Sequel movies 🎥🍿.
Bonkers, Snookums & Meat, Gargoyles, and Mighty Ducks. I don't recall finding any of thouse four shows ever airing here in Sweden. Every other show I have seen dubbings of on Disney. Though, it does seem that outside of Gargoyles, I didn't miss much.
Funny story : On a field trip to Poland we had a get together and since we didn't speak their language (barely English at the time) we sang some songs as communication. We sang the Gummi Bear Intro in German, they in Polish, Russian and Latvia. Disney brought people together.
The reason they didn't get Robin Williams back for the genie is because he was never interested in coming back as the genie in fact Dan Castellaneta has voiced the genie in every appearance the character has made since Aladdin 2. and the reason Gilbert Gottfried's name probably sounded familiar to you is because he unfortunately passed away earlier this year.
You wanted to know when these came out... these shows were my childhood. The early-to-mid 90s had a lot of kids programming in the afternoons on network TV, it was an awesome time to be a kid.
Trivia Time!! (Will edit as I watch) 3:36 It was found out fairly recently that the person singing the theme song for Gummi Bears was a member of the band "Toto"
To be fair with the deciding to not use Robin Williams was that at some point after the first Aladdin movie but before the second. Robin said that he was never going to work with Disney again. So they kind of didn't have a choice.
Cartoon lover that he was, Robin was so excited to be part of a Disney animated film that he insisted on a lower salary. He mostly put it in his contract that he barely appear in marketing, and not at all in merchandise (Genie himself could appear, so long as Robin and his performance never came up. Genie also couldn't be the focus, so there was a limit on how big he could be on the poster). His friend Barry Levinson was working on the film Toys, and Robin didn't want to overshadow him with that film releasing a month later. Disney's Jeffrey Katzenberg so blatantly ignored this that it wasn't until the third Aladdin film that Robin gave them another chance (Jeffrey had resigned by then). There is more to this, but those are the basics.
Regarding the Legend of Zelda cartoon, very early on they made a Super Mario Super Show. It featured live action intros with a retired WWE wrestler playing Mario. Four days a week they would throw to a surprisingly good Super Mario cartoon. And on Fridays they played a Legend of Zelda cartoon. But at the time, there was only the first Legend of Zelda game to base the cartoon on. It was actually not that bad for how little source material they had.
Captain Lou Albano was great as Mario. Danny Wells was a perfect Luigi too. They actually had ex-wrestler Sgt. Slaughter on there a few times. There was three Mario cartoons. One for the first game dispite having 2's enemies, one for the 3rd game and one for Super Mario World..
Let's be honest the real reason everyone's so goof troop in the 90s was because of Pete. But they forgot to mention this 2 Disney afternoon cartoons: 101 Dalmatians Hercules the animated series
By the time those shows premiered, they dropped the Disney Afternoon name. It was still the same block, but they didn't call it that anymore, which is probably why he didn't cover them.
lol I literally watched _ALL_ of these shows as a kid growing up.... Darkwing Duck and The Mighty Ducks were _favorites_ of mine, along with Gargoyles. literal _S_ tier shows I never missed. Bonkers wasn't actually bad either. I seemed to remember looking forward to it about as much as Angry Beavers.... (an A Tier show) The Alladdin show was also decent (B tier; probably the best of the Disney movie-to-show shows. and none of them were bad either) Chip and Dale rescue Rangers was good. Talespin was _surprisingly_ good... Goof Troop really wasn't bad... I didn't really care for Timon and Pumba, but definitely something you could just throw on and watch. and you know what? I actually really enjoyed Quack Pack. Duck Tales was ok. The dog and cat show you can be forgiven for thinking was like some kind of odd mandela effect or something, lol I only _vaguely_ remember seeing that show, and only for like an episode or 2... Gummi bears was just ok. I would always compare it to Care Bears, and I liked them better ( _mainly_ because of the Care Bear Stare; good defeating evil directly with superior force; as far as I can recall, the gummi bears would just run away a lot to solve most of their problems, or do something involving subterfuge or their wits....)
25:23 The one that he was shouting Casper is from his Casper the Friendly Ghost review. Also can you react to Nostalgia Critc both The Mummy and The Mummy Returns? (The Brendan Fraser one)
Eek! the Cat and Courage the Cowardly Dog were very much loved for different reasons. Eek! Was just so lovable in his naive rose-colored view of the world. He'd invite a chainsaw murderer to dinner and not realize that he was in danger. Courage was always trying to save his naive human being family from the supernatural dangers that only he seemed to be able to perceive. Neither were for children, actually.
the guy who played "*A* grandma" is Linkara. he does comic book reviews. i'd recommend some of his videos (for you specifically, probably his "Secret Origin Month" playlists)
I read that Tailspin of using Jungle Book characters was an idea that the animated characters we see on TV and movies are like real actors. That being actors preforming different roles. Doing so wanting to incorporate the idea they were real and taking different roles influenced by Roger Rabbit where the Animated characters we know are struggling actors looking for new roles to entertain. I like this idea and could of been interesting if used smartly paying off or against at the right times with various characters.
I'm not going to be brutal, but you could also check the Gargoyles and DuckTales where he goes into more detail about those shows. Regardless, YES this is one of my favorite videos of NC! ..."never seen Garbage Pail Kids" Thank God that you didn't, but unfortunately NC tortured himself with it saying that it was the worst movie he had ever seen period.
I loved all of the Disney series mentioned here as a child, including Quack Pack, 😂 I also knew most of the comparable series (Bonker for example, but I never found it as good as most Disney series) Greetings from Germany, we also had the series in the afternoon program together with anime series, it was my daily TV event 😁
The voice of the purple Gummy Bear is the voice of Tigger and the voice of the blue Gummy Bear is the voice of Garfield I can’t remember their names because it’s been so long since I seen it That was one of the very first cartoons on Disney afternoon
Ren and Stimpy was one of the very first cartoons on Nickelodeon. It had a lot rude humor and creepy animation. It was a great show. It would not fly today. DuckTales has a reboot series that came out in 2017 that is 100 times better than the original. Also, Doug wasn't using air pods. Those are ear phones, they were invented before air pods even existed.

To be fair, the Mighty Ducks cartoon was a pretty good action show for the time. But yeah, from the first time i watched it onwards, i never was able to figure out its connection to the team or why it had so much to do with hockey.
"How do these odd characters have kids?"
Man, spend a couple days going out and people watching. You'll be amazed at how many fucking weird people have had multiple kids
Oh I’ve seen it but I typically go places kids aren’t allowed to be for that reason
A new comic book series is coming from DYNAMITE. Greg Weisman IS writing it.
My love of world mythologies as a whole agrees with you entirely. This show was a kids intro class on the subject, especially season 2!
He’s still trying to negotiate? What a legend
@Trilaanus Thank you for telling me this.
@@theduckgoesmoo Greg still has over 200 story ideas for Gargoyles so he's not going to let it go.
Let me guess.
“Haven’t seen it”
“Haven’t seen it”
“Haven’t seen it”
“Who?”
“What?”
“Never heard of that”
😂
Gargoyles were so good even by today's standards (especially by today's standards).
Btw, the grandma at the end was Linkara, it would be cool to do a reaction to some of his reviews someday.
Kyle: I've never seen Garbage Pail Kids.
Me: Lucky, I wish I'd never seen Garbage Pail Kids. All I can do is repress the memory.
Mighty Ducks, for all its faults, at least had a kickass theme song.
NOT THE BEES
I grew up with these shows as well as their WB counterparts like Animaniacs, Taz and many others. The early to mid 90's were a fun time.
Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck, Gargoyles, Mighty Ducks were all apart of my childhood. I had a few vhs for the Aladdin and The Little Mermaid tv series. 😁
And then there’s me
@@theduckgoesmoo I'm sure you can find some of them on dvd or bluray. If you wanted to watch any of them.
How do you not know what DVD is?
You should check out the nostalgic critics review of gargoyles.
The show was surprisingly serious at times and dealt with some villains that did some really horrible things.
For example one of the villains who is a gargoyle turned everybody in New York to Stone at night.
And there’s a scene where she’s just happily walking through the streets destroying statues.
Sometimes with a mace sometimes with a laser gun, there’s one statue she shoots the arms off of and walks away.
And the really twisted part in the morning The humans are no longer stone.
Nostalgia Critic did a review of Gargoyles?
When?
@@HB-fq9nn I think it was from his ferry short run series “Raiders of the story arc“
It was something he was trying out when he first started doing nostalgia critic videos.
I do remember that!!
At the end of the day NC and Doug are two different people too. He mentioned loving movies NC roasted badly. Plus all in all it still opinions of him.
BRUH!!! You did not just ask what a DVD was! You can't be THIS shut in to the world!
He says nobody better diss The Proud Family, despite not even watching the show until a few years after he made this video.
37:12 This pose is *wayyyy* more appealing when a woman does it.
37:47 NC's name is Doug Walker so that's why they gave him that look.
"never seen bambi" we get it kyle.. you've never seen anything lol
37:48 they're looking at him weird because D.W is his initials- Doug Walker.
I LOVED the Reboot
When he mentioned the Cola Cult episode, I was like "Hmm, don't remember that" and then he played the song and suddenly it unlocked in my brain and I said "Oh shoot! I remember that!"
Duck proving once again that he grew up on the moon.
What’s the moon?
What, you thought we went from headphones to air pods? No, those are ear buds. They've existed for years before air pods but air pods were such a huge deal most people seem to forget that ear buds existed. I even went to walmart for a pair and asked this lady who looked like a boomer if they had any ear buds. She legit gave me a weird look and asked me if I meant air pods. Ear buds are still sold in stores, as cheap as $5. They don't need to be charged and don't need a Bluetooth connection, so they're great for plane rides if you don't get the connecting cable in a knot or hooked with someone's armrest. 😂
Bro look at how I’m listening to the video lmao I believe I got these Sony earbuds for like $7 at best buy
Even so they still aired the shows in reruns. Used to watch them all the time well into the 2000’s.
Veggie tales and Thomas the tank engine were the shows I watched when I’d visit my strict grandparents
Either this guy was living in the mountains or had one of the most restricted parents who didn't allow him to have a childhood
I’ve lived in a city my entire life and have had zero rules. I played M rated video games when I was 7 and had my own tv in my room for as long as I can remember

Oh no he does but I’ve played soccer for over 20 years what can a 2 year old do
My brother split my dad's forehead open with my drumsticks when he was a toddler.
34:25 LOL, he’s basically describing Jonah and Kieran breakdancing on _Summer Heights High_ .
Came out in 2014
- To be fair majority of these I hadn't watched or heard of either. Only ones I was aware of were Gargoyles, Duck Tales and Timon & Pumbaa. First 2 learnt from other Critic videos
- Check out his Wicker Man review for full context of Nicholas Cage bear. Comes with some of his best bear jokes
- 25:25 Ending of his original review of Casper
Duck Tales - El Capitan
Chip n Dale's Rescue Rangers - Monterey Jack (2nd season), Fat Cat, Norton Nimnul, Newt, other characters
TaleSpin - Don Karnage
Darkwing Duck - Darkwing Duck, Negaduck, other characters
Goof Troop - Pete, other characters
Bonkers - Bonkers, Lucky, other characters
Aladdin - Razul, other characters
Timon and Pumbaa - Ed, other characters
So Jim's just talking to himself in Bonkers. Jim pretty much voiced my childhood as all of those I watched as a kid.
I only remember watching reruns of these on toon disney as a kid. I'd recommend giving these a watch
Me at the intro: "Now, one thing is missing a very good movie that made history (Roger Rabbit)... but I'm really scared to question it... what sad (TV) childhood did you had!?"
12:35 "YOU NEVER SAW BAMBI!? THAT'S SAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa... actually... Guys, would you say that NOT watching Bambi makes your childhood less sad than watching it? (I can't say it cause THAT scene didn't affect me because it was a very old dub, in another language, btw, so the you-know-what was mistaken by me for a drammatic trombone)"
It didn't affect me either and I saw it in english.
30:18 Yes, believe it or not there was an Aladdin TV series based on the Hit Animated movie of the same name. The people who worked on this show also worked on the Sequel movies 🎥🍿.
38:36 Hewey would be excellent at _Penn & Teller: Bull$h!t_ .
That was Linkara as the Grandma. You should check his channel starting with a playlist called Secret Origin month.
Funny story :
On a field trip to Poland we had a get together and since we didn't speak their language (barely English at the time) we sang some songs as communication.
(Will edit as I watch)
3:36 It was found out fairly recently that the person singing the theme song for Gummi Bears was a member of the band "Toto"
JUST LIKE THE RAIN DOWN IN AFRICAAAA
Saw Goliath in the thumbnail, had to check it out immediately lol.
To be fair with the deciding to not use Robin Williams was that at some point after the first Aladdin movie but before the second. Robin said that he was never going to work with Disney again. So they kind of didn't have a choice.
Wait why did he say that
Cartoon lover that he was, Robin was so excited to be part of a Disney animated film that he insisted on a lower salary.
But they forgot to mention this 2 Disney afternoon cartoons:
101 Dalmatians
Hercules the animated series
By the time those shows premiered, they dropped the Disney Afternoon name. It was still the same block, but they didn't call it that anymore, which is probably why he didn't cover them.
A Duck with a Gun?

Gargoyles was my childhood

Eek! the Cat and Courage the Cowardly Dog were very much loved for different reasons. Eek! Was just so lovable in his naive rose-colored view of the world. Duckgoesmoo: they use to put toys in cereal kids
Me: that's nice grandpa
I read that Tailspin of using Jungle Book characters was an idea that the animated characters we see on TV and movies are like real actors. That being actors preforming different roles. Doing so wanting to incorporate the idea they were real and taking different roles influenced by Roger Rabbit where the Animated characters we know are struggling actors looking for new roles to entertain. I like this idea and could of been interesting if used smartly paying off or against at the right times with various characters.
Is Grandpa telling his story about being toys in cereal again, yes Grandpa that's nice😂
Wasn't the Aladdin show a test ground for ideas for future movies!? That's how we got the movie about Aladdin's dad
