Found it hilarious that the F15 threw a minor subsystem alert message. That summed up our 50k miles in an F15 xDrive40e. It was technically reliable - never failed to start - but it threw so many minor error messages (adaptive headlights) that we weren’t sad to see it go. The xDrive40e spec was pretty ideal though- the electric part filled in the power gap from the N20 when needed, and commuting barely used any gasoline with the 30ish miles of electric only range. Also, excellent comfort to handling balance.
The E70 resonates with me a lot. My family still has a 2008 X5 3.0si with the N52 NA inline 6 with only 39K miles which is really rare in that condition. I drove a G05 50e M-Sport and the G05s felt more boaty, more cushioned than the E70. The E70 feels more like a normal BMW sports sedan than the G05s with the ride especially.
My 2008 X5 4.8i feels more sporty than my G30 540i. BMW has def lost its old sports feeling which has me hesitant on getting a G05 or any modern BMW as my next car.
@ it’s funny you say that, I also drove a sport-line G30 540i and the E70 has a better steering feel and road feel than the G30 which shows how backwards normal BMWs have become

We added a good-condition 6MT E53 to our fleet in early 2020.
