Hopefully better days are coming. Thank you for sharing your art with us. Please be careful when you go to Santa Fe. One day I’ll get to NM. I was born in Roswell and would love to see it.
I love this. Since I have finally done a successful swipe (thanks Molly!) I’m going to try this technique next. Thanks, Johnny. Always fun to watch your vids and listen to your descriptions.
My painting space definitely doesn't allow me to spin, so I do so vicariously through you. This is absolutely stunning. Thanks for your great demeanor.
How generous of you! I'm in SW Michigan, and I'd drive to Detroit and chauffeur him to Santa Fe, but my 2008 Ford Edge probably wouldn't get there! A rental van would be fine, though. 😉
I did it again this turned out to be so beautiful. I thought you were gonna mess it up with the white and the black I didn’t realize what you were doing and when you’re finished it I love it. I love it so much I can’t wait to try to make one similar. You always come up with some stuff and turned out absolutely beautiful again.❤❤❤
Love it!!! I’m still learning about the different techniques and this is one I have to try. Thank you for your videos!!! They help me to understand a lot.
Interesting technique. I haven't seen this done before. But it really allowed allot of control with the colors and design underneath. Wondering if it provided sheen or gloss to finish? Keep going I like it.
Apologies for 3 comments (that'll teach me to be patient and wait until the end! 😂) but after finishing the video and seeing the end result I have to say that the tiny little faded lacing looks amazing (I genuinely was worried it would look like you had accidentally sprayed black onto your painting because of how tiny it went) - it reminds me of the incredible Starling murmurations we see in the skies here in the UK. They just look like hundreds of tiny specks in the sky but then they merge and blend together to form these stunning shapes and patterns in the air. I think the harsh (comparatively speaking) edges of the black swipe help that look too as the birds form these lines and edges which look so sharp and clean. Maybe next time you could try a more wavy/curved swipe instead of a straight line as I think it would look more organic and cohesive with the background? Just like the Starlings, when you see them as individuals they stand out but when you look at them all as one they blend seamlessly together and form this truly breathtaking spectacle! 😊
Cold but sunny here in Essex, England too. Anyhow, love this style. Not seen it before at all but, I can see that you’ll be developing this into some stunning pieces xx
Wow, Johnny! So cool. I love the colors in the pour and the transparency you got. Great swipe technique too, thanks for the tutorial. Do you put a gloss varnish over this medium, or leave it as is after the glue/medium/swipe dries? Looking forward to trying this in my new studio!
That turned out really cool. I've noticed sometimes you add the paint to the cup differently... Does the way you add the paint change the way it comes out after the flip?
This is so cool! I wonder if it's possible to control where the cells go to create an actual image? The black swipe over the last one at one point looked (to me) like a really badass looking skull - which would be really awesome if you could keep the contrast of that structure over the soft, ethereal base.
This makes me miss simple flip cups when I only had the premixed Artist Loft paints! Simple but beautiful ❤ Still love your twist on it! Since you don't use a torch for the next step anyways you could also get clear house paint!
As someone who has played around a bit with resin, perhaps a tip I've used/seen can help with your bubbles issue? Try pouring the paint into the cup down a lollypop (popsicle) stick as it helps to reduce bubbles in resin (I think it has something to do with breaking surface tension or some such sciencey schtuff that makes my brain hurt 😂) Also pour from different parts of the cup to create that mixing and layering effect you're after instead of the more structured effect you may get from straight layers? Maybe these will help?
Pretty piece ! I am a beginner and am using cheaper paints which are working well for tree ring and bottle bottom pours. Do I need a more expensive paint like liquitex to get the lacing on the pouring medium? Thank you
The beautiful Colors & later had the white & not much color, after it dried it was so different than I thought was going to be the end picture. The piece was pretty. I expected more colors in the end product. It was a learning challenge to see how someone else sees what is his beauty. 😅 Great Photo.
I’m brand new to this and don’t quite understand the terms. For the clear glue, did you combine that with floetrol? And is there a specific clear glue you use? Lol I bet that was a dumb question but I’d love the help! 😅
How do you finish your artwork? I tried varnish on top and it really messed up the glue finish. Introducing the wet varnish made the glue tacky and sticky. Quite a mess!
Very pretty. If you want to learn more about rsin, look at Louise Singleton. She is INCREDIBLE. I know you would love her pyramids. Everyone needs to ADOPT A VETERAN. Love and SUPPORT THEM PLEASE
I like these pieces J...don't get me wrong...it's just...I guess I don't see the point in doing this over top. It just seems like a waste of glue and pouring medium. Why not just use your black cell activator and make some swipes through the colors? You get a VERY similar look. So I don't get it...sorry.
Boy, you called it…dry and beautiful it is!!! Wow! Gorgeous!! Thanks for sharing!❤️

C'était déjà magique avant le laçage et c'est toujours magique après le laçage. Bravo 👍👏👏♥️💚♥️

stunning piece. Love it to bits!

Hi from northern Minnesota ~ spring? Whats spring? We're getting more snow later this week! 😅 This piece is terrific! Love those colors 🌺
This is so cool!

Hello from Nova Scotia Canada

Wow that's a great idea do you use I part floetrol and I part pai t for the swipe?? Thanks Vivien....

Wow
Love those colors! How thick are they?
Hi, this technique is very beautiful! Do you mind sharing your recipe for the invisible pour over. Thanks!
3:15 Gotta admit I like the splatter effect from flipping the cup.
Nice job! May I ask how do you dust your geodes I watched you do them and was wondering how???
I’m brand new to this and don’t quite understand the terms. For the clear glue, did you combine that with floetrol? And is there a specific clear glue you use? Lol I bet that was a dumb question but I’d love the help! 😅
❤❤❤❤❤
awesome
Beautiful..nz
How do you finish your artwork? I tried varnish on top and it really messed up the glue finish. Introducing the wet varnish made the glue tacky and sticky. Quite a mess!
❤
Do you try to remember what was underneath so that you swipe in a particular direction, or is it totally random?
What pouring medium do you use with the glue?
What PM are you using? Do u still use glue and water as PM?
Angel wings....
👏😁
Did I miss it? What was the pm you used? Thanks!
OMG
How do you mix your paint
What exactly is clear glue and painting medium? Brand, type, description so I can buy.
Very pretty. If you want to learn more about rsin, look at Louise Singleton. She is INCREDIBLE. I know you would love her pyramids. Everyone needs to ADOPT A VETERAN. Love and SUPPORT THEM PLEASE
👍💪🙏💖💋
Why don't you use a heat gun to pop the bubbles?
I like these pieces J...don't get me wrong...it's just...I guess I don't see the point in doing this over top. It just seems like a waste of glue and pouring medium.
