Yuja has it all and then some. She is as good as it gets. This is 10 years ago and she was so young. She's even more amazing today. What a beautiful rendition.

Deeply expressive interpretation, yet always with a natural flow. That's real musicality!

Unfortunately she struggles with it around 3:08. I'm surprised. She's generally a very wonderful player,

@@JoeLinux2000 she’s one of the best pianist currently alive. Wdym she struggles lmao ? She wouldn’t release a recording of a piece unless she was totally confident in performing it.

Rubinstein no 1 Yuja Wang Valintina Lisitsa are good but Rubinstein is my particular favorite...but there are other pieces where Yuja is my fav. It is interesting that if you look up a particular artists interpretation the comments will boast about that artist being number 1 ..this is art and very subjective..all of these artist are extremely professional and proficient and each plays great with differences only in interpretation but technique is all A1 great!

This is one of very few occasions where I'm not a fan of Yuja's interpretation. The first two-thirds were beautiful, but the doppio lacked any dynamic nuance and was far too forceful for my liking.

I agree. It lacks that painstaking depth of struggle...

I completely agree, and I thought I had found a new favorite for the first 2/3 of it. The final 3rd really needed those tempo and dynamic nuances -- though I really like how she doesn't belabor the last few measures. I love the doppio from Andre Watts, if you've not heard it: ruclips.net/video/TDGvOBGTwqw/видео.htmlsi=QlWZ7d1ueA4qTS85.

@@NitaHaberlein Wow! Watts wasn't on my list for this splendid nocturne (which I believe is Chopin's finest). He truely does a great job, doesn't he. Thanx for introducing me to the recording.
Have you checked out Youra Guller?
