This is an amateurish review. I'm quite dissapointed as you missed the mark completely on these headphones and half assed the review. 1) You make it seem like it only lasts 10 hours even if wired. If you're using USB then the headphones are getting power from USB so it'll last forever. Battery only gets drained if you use AUX because it still has to go through the onboard DSP but no mention of that. And no mention that USB is what Audeze recommends you use and that Aux is there as a nice addition to people who want to test or have extremely high end analog setup. 2) No mention of the input data required in the app to setup the 3D and HRTF properly. You need to measure your head circumferance and inter-aural arc and enter these numbers into the app. Then you can setup room ambiance (reverb) to suit taste. Did you even do this? No wonder you thought HRTF wasn't impressive 3) No mention that you can bind head movements to keys. You can set it so that if you tilt your head left past a certain analog setpoint, it could trigger a keystroke. So you can set it up in PUBG that if you til your head left, your characters leans left (send a Q) command. Frees your hands for movement and now you can use your head for natural movements. NO MENTION OF THIS. THIS IS GAME CHANGER FOR GAME HEADPHONES AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN MENTION IT. Honestly, I'm done. Unsubscribe. This is so amateurish it hurts

As others mentioned, sound quality is amazing but mine broke after a few months, if they release an updated reinforced version I might consider buying again. As of now these are not a great investment.
The problem is that Audeze (the original designer that HyperX bought the design from) built a really terrible plastic hinge. HyperX engineering team told me today that they (HyperX) are working on a revision with totally fixed hinges which will come out sometime in the future. HyperX also ALREADY contains another fix, which is protective covers over the speakers that prevent your earslobe pressure from damaging the speakers, which Audeze doesn't have in theirs. Audeze is lower quality than HyperX, and soon the HyperX hinges will be fixed. So yeah, great news :)

Look: I have the Mobius. The benefit of a locked Sound environment is that your brain has a far easier time to actually pinpoint audio ques to their origin. Why? We might stare at our screen while gaming but our heads aren't static. Even the smallest glimpse at our Keyboard means extra workload for our brain, since the sound environment travels with our head but our ingame view doesn't. Ankerring the sound makes it a lot less hard on our brain to interpret subtle ques. In addition: We use micro movements of our heads to further analyse where sound comes from without even noticing. Our heads aren't cast in concrete. We do that subconsciously without us even noticing. This is the reason why you were probably surprised on how often you use the 3D effect in games.

I own the Mobius. Fantastic headset and really just a great pair of closed planar headphones for the price but good lord they get uncomfortable over time. There just isn't enough padding on the headband. If you get yourself a pair of these do yourself a favour and get some padding to wrap around it. A seatbelt cushion works for me.
This 3D feature should have something like trackIR software that would make it really worth it!
then they would have to have seperate sensor of some sort and would be even heavier also more expensive. i dont say they are expensive, depends on ur earnings. but you can just compliment those with tobii eye tracker and the combo it just NEXT LEVEL !!
3d sound tracking is amazing on triple screen sim racing! Looking in my mirror or out the window still lets me accurately hear cars around me
Will the head tracking change the in game camera like a Tobi tracker or is it only sound?
No wonder you thought HRTF wasn't impressive
3) No mention that you can bind head movements to keys.

Thanks for the video. Appreciate getting this versus wasting my money and then finding this out.
Im still using the first Cloud for like 4 years now and it's still going strong
most of these guys really make mics a secondary thing even if the mic is just as important to streamers as the audio they actually hear from the headset

Bass doesn’t even matter that much when it comes to gaming, especially since I play mainly first person shooters
It really does matter. Ever try the SteelSeries Arctis 3 Bluetooth? They have no bass and it sounds terrible because of that.
@@LostHope... It does matter but not that much. Fps games do not really have bass sounds besides the inagme music. Highs are much more important in this case.
Luca Dario Bützberger Very true but in most cases people arent going to spent $300 dollars on a headset specifically for gaming. They will want to use it for multiple purposes. @Moody Deway in most cases yes. but these are the cheapest planar sets on the market and will go toe to toe with any similarly priced cans.
I don’t get it, wired but have a battery life of 10 hours?????
I was thinking the same. Do they really tell me that I need to charge it every 10 hours even when I connect it with the 3.5mm jack because it uses more power than the 3.5mm jack can provide? Seriously?
@ yeah it does. the head tracking is really battery intensive, way more than the music itself.
@ The head tracking consumes power, also most gamers won't have a headphone amp and planar magnetic drivers really need more juice to sound good so I assume that it might have a built in DSP with amplification so that will consume power as well.
The planar magnetic driver requires a lot more power
Well... I guess it’s the built-in dac/dsp consumes lots of power...
I assume it’s one of those products that company make to get way more profit...and pave the road for a higher price for the whole lineup in the future......

If it sounds the same as the Mobius and is the exact same. Then the orbit s is a good headset and makes sense.
But the normal orbit makes no sense, you only save $30 too loose out on head tracking, that is not enough to make it worth skipping. No one should be buying the normal orbit.
The Mobius and orbit s makes sense. But the soundstage in stereo needs to be better.
Is that the best setup for console?
If Mobius makes sense than the the standard Orbit makes more sense since it is a whole $100 cheaper, head tracking doesn't make sense for everyone.
@@marcuswiththecurls600rr I don't really reccomend the orbit/Mobius for console as most of the features don't fully work on console. But it depends what features you want and which console.

@HardwareCanucks You recently released a video relating the V-moda Boom, and other PS5 headset choices... Even though the Tempest in the PS5 is able to manipulate standard 2ch stereo to sound spacial due to being system level audio hardware, does the Audeze (in the Vanilla Orbit) conflict with the Tempest? From what I could gather on their website, the Orbit has a 3d mode using Audeze, a 3d/VSS mode to let your device channel your spacial audio, and a Stereo mode. I heard the Mic is great, but having the Moda option fitting, and the fact that imo all wireless headsets suffer poor chat clarity/quality... Wired headset with a 10h battery life. Hmm... What? I'm totally confused.
10 hour battery life when you use it via the analog 3.5mm jack. If you use it via the type-c to type-c cable, then it draws power from the source device instead of its internal battery and thus isn't limited to 10 hours. Probably the most commonly confused aspect of this particular headset.

Would definitely choose the Kingston HyperX Cloud Alpha over this.
way too expensive imo, i got the dt990 pro + e10k dac and rode nt usb mic for only 20 bucks more than this headset
It's audeze planar's. Planar magnetic drivers are f***in exepensive to make because they rely on a stupid thin super flexible membrane to be moved at ridiculous speed. This is a good price for entry level planars, they are far above dt990 for sound capability. A lot of people would also get a pricier dac/amp with dt990 as well, let alone this pair. I do think it's wierd doing it as a headset as I struggle to see how most gaming people would pay for planars, because if they know enough to know what planars like you did they would probably already be spending the cash on a proper mic.
