    None of this deals with trauma??? It's all CBT, why?

    • @PsychologyWorksOfficial
      @PsychologyWorksOfficial  6 месяцев назад +2

      A version of CBT called prolonged exposure therapy would be recommended for trauma. Another evidence-based CBT treatment is called Eye Movement Desensitization Reprogramming (EMDR), which is basically the same thing as prolonged exposure therapy with a few varying features. Both have good solid research behind them.

      @@PsychologyWorksOfficial How does one do prolonged exposure for chronic trauma that occurred over a long period of time (as opposed to a discrete incident) or for preverbal trauma? Is there any research on how to treat preverbal trauma or chronic trauma? How do psychologists treat trauma that clients can't remember?
