  • We're really only two episodes away from the end of the season? It seems fairly mystery light so far so we'll see what happens. There is still other things to discuss like Fitz definitely not writing a book about Aria, Ashley living in the past, Mike being the least favorite child, and heavy topics around Spoby's past, Mona working for a republican campaign, and why it's right to leak info and attack a pro life candidate.
Episode 86 content warnings: abortion, pro life ideology, misogyny, murder, abuse, gaslighting, disability

I feel like the writers forgot what Toby's character is like somewhere along the way. I feel like the Toby of the later seasons has pretty much nothing in common with the early seasons Toby. Remember "it's okay to be different, I like different" Toby? Soft Toby that cried in an alleyway after two kids ran screaming from him? Now all of a sudden he likes traditional, he likes normal? It makes no sense to me. I still can't get over him becoming a cop and staying one. Excuse me Sir, remember how the copwls mitreated you and made you an outcast? And did the same to your girlfriend and friends??

I never really liked Toby but his police brutality attempt with Andrew was when I was like Spencer, run

I guess it isn't such a big spoiler but. When Emily says "Elliot Rollins" (with a British accent) "I don't know why, he's not British" - GOOD SAVE QUEEN. unless you just forgot which is also fully valid

When it comes to political and economic aspects this show is terrible and I wish they would have not even tried to bring more apparent political issues into it at all because they just don't handle it well. Regarding the class consciousness, it's also so weird. They are all so well off but don't really acknowledge it. We have the plot about Hanna and Ashley and their money problems early on, but they live in this giant house, drive new cars etc so I never felt that bad for them. Caleb wasn't well off, but then they had to make him rich too with his mom having lots of money.. also remember how Spencer talked about Caleb at the beginning when they first met him? She made snide remarks about him being poor and judged him due to his economic situation and him being in the foster system.. That's a big part why I don't really like them together. I know she was young and probably evolved, but it seems weird regardless. Also interesting how we never really see Spencer acknowledge her privileges of being raised in this extremely wealthy, powerful family.. I think someone said it in the show - there is rich and then there is Hastings rich.

Ya there’s 0 material reality in the show outside of being upper class. I think the Marins are a good example of what the show actually understands which is the pressure of keeping up appearances in an upper class community. Mostly don’t mind the show being about rich people but occasionally there’s a bit of friction.

Yeah it just gets a bit annoying that so many shows are always about rich upper class people.. in this case I also don't really mind because I'm watching for the mystery and the drama, but some parts like the Caleb plotline annoy me, they could have left him poor and derive some plots out of it and address the dichotomy between him and the rest of the characters..
