The Alex twist could've been SO GOOD if it had been hinted at earlier!! Like for a couple of seasons we see the girls together, but Spencer sometimes has no memory of some of those things... and maybe Spencer could've been with Caleb, but Alex wants to be with Toby and manipulates Caleb to break up with Spencer and she has NO idea what's going on! It would've been amazing

It would’ve been good if they did what you said and made it Ali’s twin, Courtney DiLaurentis, like the books. Would’ve made television history
I think what makes this even more iconic/chaotic is the fact that the writers didn't need to make the plots as insanely complicated as they did. They were their own worst enemies in this.
I think one of the issues was actor availability and the seasons being picked up one at a time. They wrote in so many red herrigs and plot holes to give every character some plausability of being A in case the actor they wanted wasnt on contract that season.
The books were literally written to be turned into the show and they strayed so hard from it to make it a twist they ruined it.
The book also splits Eriza and Aria while the show makes it their OTP
apparently based on what i heard, writers were trying to stay ahead of the audience and try to change their plot twists last minute which caused so many loose threads and red herrings which is even worse because a good plot twist should have some things pointing to it, not just completely out of nowhere ugh bye
if i had a nickel for everytime ezra wrote a book about a girlfriend of his that went missing i'd have two nickels which isn't a lot but its weird that it happened twice

I swear to god all the As/writers gave Spencer these souls crushing plots and Aria gets her hair dyed

I’m at peace with the mess, but dang do I wish it had been written ahead of time so all there drama actually fell in place as a master plan. I remember being like “omg I can’t wait to see the reveal where it all makes sense!” And well, we got Plot Hole City

Marlene just couldn't handle the fans already theorizing the ending and wanted a surprise over a logical ending. I'd have LOVED to be like, "wow I was so right and it was ...!! What a twist! But the clues I picked up were correct, omg, what a masterpiece!" It just felt like we were going somewhere with all her clues and then... it just makes no sense. Mike's series made it even more obvious how many loose ties there were. How many times they baited us with a hint of A, when they themselves didn't even know yet. It absolutely rivals GoT and Gossip Girl, because I was disappointed by fucking yeaaars of anticipation and buildup

@@glodymadiamba6064 I did a rewatch last summer for the first time since the show aired- I didn't originally get past season 5 but I had a general idea of the ending from talking with friends so during my rewatch I tried looking for Spencer twin clues and that "different person" comment was the biggest one, but the show didn't take it anywhere?? I don't get why they didn't try to retroactively include Alex into the story like they did with Cece- I'd rather they have done that with a bunch of plot holes than her being British and popping up out of nowhere.

The funniest thing is there’s actually a way that they could’ve fixed the plot holes of CeCe being A that would’ve pretty closely resembled the book if they had revealed that Charles/Charlotte was the one that was killed and her body was discovered and would explain why they got accidentally identified as Alison because she could have looked like Alison and the DNA could’ve been close enough and they revealed that the CeCe Drake that has been running around since we first met her was actually Bethany Young and they took her identity? It would honestly solve everything.
I'm fascinated by how many secret twins there are in this show and I'm so impressed that none of them were the same secret twin from the books.

this show was ruined by the writers trying to outsmart the audience. there were some very good theories with solid evidence and they just couldn't let the audience figure it out so they changed the plot constantly. it's so stupid bc to me that the audience could put the pieces together just shows the writers made a good job of putting the foundation and storyline together

That’s why everyone got excited that the little girl Eliza that CiCi would visit on her outings with Archer/Eliot and gave the dolls of the girls to. People theorized that Eliza was Alison’s daughter with Darren Wilden from when she had her “pregnancy scare” that summer in Cape May. Since Wilden’s family had Amish ties in the book, people thought Alison disappeared and Wilden arranged for her to hide out in this Amish community in order to have the baby and give it up for adoption. That was believed to be the reason why CiCi was spending so much time with the girl and telling her stories of Alison and her other dolls. It would have been interesting since it would have explained where Alison was during the time she was missing and why Wilden wouldn’t let her come back.
The best thing is that I stopped watching PLL after like season 3A so all the unhinged plotlines are fucking hilarious.

it feels blasphemous that ali wasn’t the final villain, 13 year old sasha was eating everyone up. 15 year old alison dilaurentis had grown adults afraid of her. for them to ignore sasha’s ability to play a truly evil for no reason character, disappear her, bring her back and make her spineless oh my gOD fumbled, worst character arc, a waste. sasha, troian, and janel were the best actors on the show, they ruined alison, mona was already a (the best a) and they needed to wrap it up so they looked at troian and said “how can we use her without committing to making one of the liars the villain”

This is my third time watching this pll series in the past week. I think that’s a good gauge of where I’m at mentally.
PLL was an absolutely unhinged and crazy show, but I wish it would've been more tame concerning the plot. I find that there are too many unnecessary deaths, useless characters, people being A... The show started out as Allison being an absolute terror and mysteriously disappearing and then 4 girls being tormented by an anonymous stalker, THAT'S ICONIC!!
I loved the idea of Allison being a genius evil teen who has dirt on everyone and that she eventually messed with the wrong person. I loved the idea of Ezra being A because it makes sense and it's super dark and messed up. Already having an established reputation as a predator, Allison could've turned on him and threatened to go to the police and tell on him, so he decided to try and kill her, and then he gets the idea to write a book and becomes A.
I also love the Aria is A theory which would work perfectly with Ezra. I absolutely hated the Alex plotline and I wasn't a fan of the Charles/Cece reveal either (although the "two Allison's" in the crusty yellow top is iconic, such a slay).
I don't think people appreciate how well done this series is. I've never watched an episode of this show, not once, and I could still probably recite the entire plot because of how well it's summarised and presented.
If schools taught in this format, everybody would get A grades.
