    Ford wanted over $350 to replace the entire light assembly. I bought one on amazon for $150, watched this video, and done. Saved myself $200 for less than 5 minutes work.

    Thank you so much for this video when I’m doing work on my truck my dad used to be right there coaching me telling me that I needed to do it myself so I can learn how to take care of my own truck. My dad has since passed away, so this video was a lifesaver thank you so much!

    My F150 has the notorious condensation tail light, pooling cold water popped the bulb when it got too hot and I couldn't figure out how to get the taillight off. One of the comments mentioned an additional tab at the top opposite the two mentioned in this video and was so much easier to remove once I was aware of that!
    Thank you for the video and to the commentor that mentioned the extra tab!

    Thank you so much for this video. I was so worried I was going to have to go to the dealership and pay a lot of money that I don’t have right now to get this done. I’m now going to do it myself. You have no idea how much this helped me!! God Bless

    Thank you. That was perfect. And you were right about that top rubber holder coming off with the disassembly. Caught that, put it back in. Easy peasy. Thank you from all of us that get intimidated by these things.

    Nice video, however you may have missed one point. On my 2019 F-150, there is also a locator pin on the top corner of the housing near the tailgate. It may not matter since the top bolt is in close proximity to the pin, but it is there and would be better if not broken.
    Again, nice video. Thanks for sharing.

    Just did this….
    Small trick if your “inserts” are being stubborn
    I snaked a small diameter rope in the gap for some leverage and pulled straight back. Mine was stuck pretty good.

    NOTE: we have a 2019 and thought the housing was just being supremely stubborn. Turns there is an extra insert pin at the top and opposite the other two. I used a plastic chisel between the light housing and main body to pry away slowly. Hope this is helpful to others!

      Exactly! I started with the passenger side and I was like wtf is going on. I peeked in and seen that extra pin. Got one of those plastic remover tools and popped it out like butter

    Thank you for mentioning the issue with the tabs. Unfortunately you didn't give a solution for that to tabs tendency of simply snapping off instead of coming out.

    Anyone know of the factory halogen 2018+ will plug and play on a 2016 with halogens? Just like the look of them better than the 15-17 tail lights

    If your F150 has Blind Spot detection (BLISS) the tail light does not look anything like the one in this video.

      The bulbs I put in are still stock bulbs, so the before and after would actually look identical in this case. We do have some other videos of LED bulb swaps that may be closer to what you're looking for. Thanks for watching!

    Did you guys have a bigger gap between the body and top of the taillight at the first push pin? I did same with mine and the gap is by far bigger than stock. My buddy did the same thing and also got the gap? It functions as it should but the fitment looks like crap now

    • @NoahStage3
      @NoahStage3 2 года назад

      I haven't had this issue on our truck so I'm not sure what the exact problem would be. You may have already tried this, but loosen the two side screws slightly, then push the light back to close the gap. Once it's in place, hold the light steady while you tighten the screws down. There is some play in those screw holes that could be causing a problem.

    • @adamwilliams1367
      @adamwilliams1367 2 года назад

      @@NoahStage3 yeah I’ve tried everything. It’s just something with too much place that’s causing it.

      I have the same gap your talking about but only on my right Tail light. Sucks because its been raining lately and water makes its way in there

    • @jasonrstang

      Before you push the two pins in all the way, there is also a plastic locator at the top nearest you that needs to be in proper position.

  • @JohnTucker

    Looks simple enough, but of course as usual, mine has to be stubborn as heck and won't budge. 2019.
