A general comment - good to have these webinars - thanks. I really like the philosophy and design of TM. It surprises me though that Epic don't monitor and reply to comments more (to these videos and the community forum) to give definitive answers to things rather than leaving users scratching their heads and trying to figure things out between them
Clear, concise, and thorough with your presentation. Great middle-ground content, not too much for beginners but not too primary for more advanced users. Great job Craig! Thanks
The best way I found to keep messing around with stuff, is to keep resaving the exported file in the exact same place then hitting the refresh button in the imported assets . I like the FBX format.
Thank you. But how about import animated fbx like Lumion can do? Because sometime I need to make some complex animation from third app. Hope to know TW's development roadmap too.
I'm not sure if this is the place to leave a question. I have some .3ds images downloaded from furniture and textile manufacturers that I want to load into my TwinMotion file. I've been watching this video and it seems to me that in order to get these files into TwinMotion I need first to go via a third party app (you've used Maya, I was going to use Blender because it's free, but I know nothing about it). Your video is really helpful in lots of ways but it does not help with the process of getting the objects into your filing system so that you can pick it up and pop it into TW. Are there any tutorials on this subject? Thanks.
Wondering if the over blue reflexion in interior scenes when textures are set to weather sensitive will be fixed in TM 2020 ? There is also the problem of not being alowed to choose a different center point for assets built in large scenes, that's annoying. Thanks
when you import a new asset, click on your list the the right and find your import (usually will be at the bottom) and click on it, then in your viewing window just turn around and look for the big yellow ball or arrow, then either press "f" to focus - which will bring you right in front of it, or click -hold on the yellow ball and move the mouse - it will come to you. Those are the only work arounds I found to quickly access and solve the scavenger hunt.
@@ariccressey5226 Thank you. My problem is that sometimes for a small object the yellow ball is miles away from that object so it's a hustle to move or god forbid rotate it. And when you focus on it the focus encompasses the object and its far far away origine... This happens when I use imported CAD where the origin have been set too far and sometimes beyond the limits of precision of the CAD software. So if would have been nice to be able to set the origin for the object at any vertex or external point for a given object in TM. Thanks again
Can you import cameras? I need to track footage in another software and use the same camera data in Twinmotion, so the render can be composited into the footage. Appreciate any advice. Thanks!
Hi ! thank you for your video. I have a question . I would like to know if I can work with Forester (3DQueckers) in Twinmotion? They don't have trial and their soft seems to work as twinmotion . I mean you can have seasons and growing trees. Thanks for your answer!
How are you processing the Xfrog model so that the textures are embedded in the FBX file? What are you using to process the Xfrog model to create the FBX?
Great tutorial ! Question. I can't import the free people from AXYZ in my Twinmotion ! Either OBJ or FBX ! After you download these characters, is there anything you have to do before importing them in Twinmotion ? I downloaded the same file that you use in this video...! Thank you,
You don't need to do anything special. What may happen is that you are using a MAC and our FBX packages are not unzipped correctly by the default OSX unpacker. If you use any alternative free unpacker it will work fine (izip, winzip, theunarchiver, keka, etc.)
would be nice to make lighting UI workflow a bit less complex. when working in a photo, is kinda silly that we can only change the time slider outside of the photo , if we want to change the localization, weather, and lighting, it has to be done inside the photo. As we know to get perfect lieflike shadows things have to constantly be tweaked until it looks right, there are too many places to click to get to one setting, then back to another , then go back out and click the time slider ... etc.. if you could have all lighting controls in one central window box or location that would be amazing. Also, i fell like the bottom section with all the controls is way to big. With that permanently oncscreen plus the two side lists open (thankfully can be minimized) it cuts my viewing window from 17 inches down to 9in. would be great to have it either be an adjustable translucent backgound or be minimized like the 2 side lists.
Perfect Webinar to start with amazing Software .. I like Twinmotion ... just I have asking what is the Different between free version and trial .. actually if it free .. why I must pay ??
Junior Versianni I haven't tried it myself but it would come down to the pivot point possibly parenting to hidden meshes to get the right position with a circular path
Has anyone tried exporting FBX objects from sketchup and importing? I have tried several times, using different export options and the object appears in the outliner panel in TM but is not visible in the model? (if I hit F there is nothing there)
If the object in SU does not appear in TM scene...try to explode or ungroup the object in SU then refresh your TM scene...that is how I do it and it works.

They already announced that twinmotion 2020 will have a live link plugin for Rhino.
We need raytracing! Improve shadows and lighting!!!

Is there a way to import camera tracking data to Twinmotion?
Will we be able to export files from TwinMotion into unreal engine for a quick and efficient way to render games?

Plugins for 3Ds max 2020 no? :(
The thing is...You have to invert the green channel on normal maps for twinmotion if obtained from quixel. Otherwise the bump seems inverted
hello, can You tell me how to import object animated in blender? So i could use animation of it in twinmotion?
link for 3dsmax??
it is possible to import your own sound files ?
can you import a point cloud into Twinmotion?
Could you please add a scale transform button at the import panel? Manually change the asset is painful!

How do I paint/scatter imported assets?
Why does everything import FLOATING in the air in Twinmotion? I thought its my setup.
To solve this you can simple move the ground up to match your model.
@@craigwilliamsdesign so its a permanent bug in twinmotion?
@@zara330 I'm not sure, I asked the same question at a recent Twinmotion webinar and that seemed to be the only solution to move the ground up.
Alembic support would be great.

Is it already possible to create basic keyframes to animate position or rotation of an item ?
Junior Versianni you can use the custom paths with the ping pong action

when i import a asset from 3D warehouse (skp.) they wont appear in the twinmotion project. This started happening about 2 weeks ago. whats going on?
Zaf Mo same.. couldn’t figure out a solution till now 😢💔

how to add jumppads, portals, health bars and weapons ?
in the same toolbar where you setup the multiplayer options...
this is not a game devlopment software. its more a level editor/environment design
Hello! Is there a way to select based on objects rather than same material?
Yes ! When importing do not collapse by material. Pick the object you will see place by object
Nneed FBX animation
Alembic even.
Hi! I'? Getting the error "D3D device being lost" after a few minutes using Twinmotion with my new rig. What can it be? Thx! ^^
Did you solve it yet?
thank you
what are top ten 3rd party libraries also maybe free?
ok I see the ones he mentioned, expensive unfortunately
Please consider making Twinmotion accepting camera tracking data.
Very good
I use a third party app when there’s a problem. Transmutr will save as a SketchUp file and easily import to TM.
Transmutr is great
