Really interesting video. Can you give the measurements of the stock Sony battery (l,w,d)? Also, is it possible for you to determine the inner dimensions? I'm entertaining a couple of alternative solutions, but unsure if they will fit.
hello, I had the same problem with the solders they occupy millimeters and then the box is not the same width and it doesn't go into the charger or the camera, I just put the batteries without soldering and connected to each other so it was well stuck when entering the camera making it difficult to remove, I believe they are injected with plastic at the factory, just the right size.a question, is your camera the bmc100? mine is showing the caution light on, do you know how to fix this defect? or who can help with some information?
If the Caution light is always on, as well as the Low light indicator (even if there is enough light, such as outside), then the pickup tube on the camera is probably dead. The BMC-110 and BMC-220 use a Saticon pickup tube for imaging and for some reason the tubes like to die, rendering the camera useless and beyond repair. I've came across two BMC-110s with dead tubes. The later Betamovies use solid-state CCDs so they don't fail, but I believe the IR filter that sits between the lens and the CCD starts to degrade and ruins the picture. It's possible to remove the filter/clean it but it's really complex.
@@KylesDigitalLab thanks, the red light only, not the yelow light, Is there an easy way to test to see if it's the tube, I've heard that dirt on the heads also causes the red light to come on
@@hkansler The tube should be fine if it's not complaining about low light, however I would clean the heads on it. That involves taking it apart and you have to remove the plastic cover where the eject lever is, be very careful not to break that, I've broken it twice on two BMC-110s because of the aging brittle plastic.
How hard is this for a beginner with a soldering iron
Its is not hard if you have some experience with soldering. Just pay attention for -/+ poles.

thank you so much! you are the best! can you tell me where you got the replacement batteries? thanks again.
I bough on eBay. Product name : 4/5 Sub C 2200 mAh Ni-Cd 1.2V
Search it you will find plenty of them. 34 x 23 mm

It is BCM-550 , usually caution light come on when video head get dirty, need to clean it.
