- Batman from the DC universe is one of their prime characters and is built up with incredible detailing. His aspects, fights, moral code, never-ending self-conflict, etc. are all shown in comics or animated series. His war on injustice and his morality of not killing them create much depth about the characters' choice of path. Batman is not an alien and neither is he gifted with any superhuman abilities. His willpower, intellect, and strategy have always brought him victory in most cases. His mental and physical conditions are at the prime and probably the best version any human can achieve. This makes him equal to all meta-humans or superhumans.
In the animated series “Dark Knight Returns” we see how he beats down superman to a pulp. His skills can be best judged when he dodges Darkseid’s omega beams which is an impossible feat. Flash did manage to outrun once but Superman failed. Batman did not run or fly but just managed to bounce off a parademon confusing the ray’s direction to kill the parademon. He is rich and owns a wide gallery of weapons and armors that also help him in his battles. With all that said about the character, the question that follows is “What if Batman was evil” and that is not a very vague question.

Recently, I've begun wondering if Owlman had his own version of the Court of Owls. Did he, for example, have a Congress of Bats?

Owlman is one of my favorite DC characters, top 3 actually. People say that the batman who laughs is the most evil, while i see what you are going at i truly believe its Owlman. He is a perfect dark reflection in a mirror and that makes him the best batman out there for me

I'm very surprised that Owlman had nothing with The Court of Owls given hes a Wayne and has a owl suit. (Yes I know about Thomas Wayne Jr that appeared during the Court of Owl storyline but he wasn't a confirmed Wayne unlike Owlman.

The closest we got to a live action Owlman was Batfleck’s suit in Zack‘s Justice league & Nite Owl in Watchman 2009.

Owlman feels like alternative earth of Ozymandias from Watchmen
There are so many cooler alternate versions of Batman. Has there ever been an alternate version of Batman where he studies magic? Like imagine him having all the tools he already possesses(peak level conditioning, dangerously genius level intellect, vast wealth and access to ahead of the curve weapons and tech) AND having mastered sorcery. Like by the time he begins to reach old age, he fears the decline of his physical capabilities and questions his place among the pantheon of heroes. He notices himself getting slower, weaker etc. So he goes on a 2nd training expedition, this time learning different forms of magic from different teachers. Imagine Dr. Strange’s training but with Bruce Wayne. Maybe it eventually corrupts him? Just imagining Batman combining his advanced fighting abilities with magic is too awesome to not have already happened.
One of the dark knights from the dark multiverse studied magic and used it to seriously fuck some shit up

I remember seeing another origin for him.
Like Bruce, Thomas Jr’s parents were murdered in an alleyway, but not by a random mugger and instead a corrupt police officer.
He would go about, practicing every fighting style and what not when he was suddenly scratched in the eye by an owl, giving him the idea of the moniker, Owlman.
He had the same motivation as Bruce: to prevent what he had gone through from happening and get rid of the corruption within the city.
Eventually, Owlman found the perpetrator of his parents’ murder.
However, this is when it takes a dark turn.
The corrupt police officer reveals that the Wayne family themself was corrupt as well, having murdered the child of James Gordon.
And then, Owlman broke.
His entire motivation-his reasoning for going on this crusade against crime and corruption-was all built on a lie.
And so, Owlman drops the guy to his death as he finally realized.
It. Doesn’t. Matter. Nothing matters.

The idea of Batman beating up Superman has always struck me as ludicrous. One blast from Kal's X-ray vision and Bruce would be ashes. No way he would be fast enough to evade it.

Superman never wanted to kill him in that scene. That's what inevitably led to him losing. I don't consider batman beating superman a feat because superman always holds back or its someone else controlling superman with a fraction of his intellect. When he beats wonder woman, now that's a feat because she wasn't raised by the Kents to be a goody two shoes. She was raised by Gods and Goddesses including a God of war so if she fights him uncorrupted there's a good chance she'd be ruthless still.

In a short novel in the anthology called The Way it wasn't....there is a story about cross time travel being discovred. Treasures from different Earths brought to alternate Earths in trade. Made techological leaps. Made much money. It also introduced a plague of suicides. People who had no clear reason to end themselves suddenly doing so. Including one man who had just won big downstairs at the Casino. Jumped from his room high in the tower. We find out its because of the existence of parallel worlds. Nihilism gripped the smarter folk. What does it matter if things are good for me. In another world they are terrible. Its just luck that they are in a world where things have gone well. It makes no difference. And if they suffer, some other version of themselves is not. They got lucky. Existence becomes meaningless and they could not deal with that existential crisis. So happened to owlman. Being too smart he created a problem for himself where none needed to exist ( maybe, as the ultimate challenge to his Super Cortex enhanced brain. If he can't succeed at his plan then there was no point in trying to fight on.

He isn’t really dark Batman though, he’s both a sorta fusion of Joker and Batman, as well as a take on if Batman was drove to evil rather than straight up Dark Batman.
He’s a far more differing character to Batman than something like Owlman, he just acts less classically Batman like, which is completely intentional, whereas Owlman as an idea is more of “well what if we took Batman but instead of striving to make the world better he went out to make it worse”.
All in all I’d call TBWL a variant of the character but Owlman is the dark counterpart.

I like dc Universe online’s take on alternate versions of Batman and the justice league. Red death and gcpd Batman being my favorites. I liked the fact that Batman was a GCPD officer too and his suit showed it too.

Owlman has 2 stories. The one you told us and another one where his parents and little brother(Bruce) were killed by a corrupt cop. After that, Thomas trained to become a vigilante just like Bruce did in his universe and took the mantle of Owlman. When he caught his familly's killer he told him his father was a criminal and Owlman flipped out.
