Looking forward to Part 2!
Love the amp tech not a amp Taxidermist quote.
I don't think I've ever summed something up that succinctly.
Enjoy it while it lasts. LOL!
I don't mind the PCB's so much except I would have liked to seen the pots not directly board mounted. Maybe some molex connectors on the board instead to facilitate pot replacements. Maybe drill the faceplate so the input jacks can mount direct to the chassis.
Gotta wash your knob every now and then! (she said) Hilarious! 😂
Wow what a pretty old girl! To bad about Jack coming up short...
they should really use vented discs for those unused tube cutouts, giving heat dissipation without the bug access/shock danger.
Heard there "Babe please don't go"
He who delves into old boxes will encounter vermin.
Thanks Brad ! 😊
Happy Birthday Mate ! 🥳
Dad let the Cat 😻 out of the Bag... 🎒
😉 LOL 🤣
Have a cold one on Me . 🍺
Cheers ✌️ 🍻

Thanks mate!
You just funded this morning's extra large triple shot cappuccino!
2:45 I've got a feeling
A feeling deep inside
Oh yeah
For a company with strong reputation for doing thing right, it's surprising to see those unused holes for output tubes without covers.
Aloha Brad! Don't have any experiences with Hi Watt but aren't they very loud and bulletproof?
Generally, yes.
But being a valve amp, they do require cleaning and maintenance just like any other.
I just pulled a '96 Fender Pro jr out of the closet. Need to replace an input Jack after I start working
Could sand a bit off the plastic barrel of the jacks?
or enlarge the chassis hole to be a clearance fit
Oooh those pots look pretty bad. Although I had a similar symptom on my Marshall JMP where the treble pot was literally doing nothing... the pot turned out to be fine, and it was bad caps in the tone stack.
Yes, I'll be looking closely at that whole area.
m8, where ca I get some of those blue and glass axial caps or equivelant from ? I need a shitload for my HH IC100 preamp section
Sorry, blue and glass axial caps?
Not sure what you mean.
Do you just mean axial electrolytics and mustard film caps?
@@BradsGuitarGarage yeh m8, axial electro there is one on each board (blue clear plastic wrap) and it looks like a glass cap on the front board between a resistor and a mustard cap right near the standoff(could be wrong about the glass cap can't see it clear enough)
I just go with Vishay where possible for axial electrolytics.
For axial film caps, I got with the "Mallory" 150 series or for radials, Panasonic or Wima.
The one you're referring to as "glass" is just a run of the mill axial polystyrene film cap.
@@BradsGuitarGarage thanks m8
are you too good for your home?
"Stop looking at me, swan."
Not a bad bit of kit, we dont get many made in the UK things now its all fecking Chinese.
Hiwatt did not have much luck with their Chinese amps.
I believe they abandoned the concept altogether and are now working on having just the UK handwired originals. Good.
@@BradsGuitarGarage sounds like a bloody good idea.👍👍
Man, where was this thing kept? Ugly!
I've seen a LOT worse.
