Another thing I like that I didn't include in the video: The hybrid option - it can get up to 39 CIty / 35 Hwy / and 37 MPG combined! That's awesome for this size. What do you like or not like?? Be sure to see the full review here for all the details: ruclips.net/video/YXIMIQNrju8/видео.html
Had an older style Sorento and loved it. Can’t beat the price, great gas mileage, space and super low maintenance. I love that the new version has captains seats now!
I just bought the 22 SX prestige and I’m in love. My only complaint is the captain chairs not being optional. We are a big family and always have guests and take many road trips I wanted to upgrade my Sportage to Sorento for the 3rd row but I also like the top trim level. The captain chairs were almost a deal breaker. I will admit though they are very comfy and offer tons of space.
For anyone buying a kia or hyundai... THEY HONOR THEIR WARRANTY. The dealers might try and not do it, but call corporate and they'll get it fixed. The dealerships is what kills Kia imo
I have a Kia Optima 2015. I have kept maintenance since I bought it new. My check light engine turned on. I took it to the dealer and the next day, engine started on fire while my vehicle was off. Dealership, horrible service. My car was still under warranty, but they’re saying claim has to go through kia Corp. it’s been three weeks and nothing has been done!
I have 10,000 miles on my X line AWD. The Dual Clutch Transmission is definitely noisy and very hard shifting. It actually lurches when coming to a complete stop. I'm hoping the recall on the high pressure line helps cure the issue but I really can't see how it will. I also had a fuel injector go bad and a windshield leak. Even with all the issues-I still like to drive it because of the power and comfort.
I don't think your wireless charging complaint is "petty". It makes no sense why a feature is taken away for upgrading trims. Or put another way, let me pay more so I can get less features. Nice review by the way.
I don’t think this is a Kia issue. I’ve seen other manufacturers where the larger screen size results in a loss of wireless functionality. I’ve heard it’s a licensing issue with either apple or android.
Bought the LX+ version , started having problem with the transmission after 15000km (when coming to a stop, transmission clunk hard in 1st gear to the point where vehicle jerk forward) went to dealership , mechanics tried the vehicle and felt the problem , I was told they couldn’t do anything about it until a light turns on in the dash . Anybody else have same problem? What was the issue? Thinking it might be a bad shifting solenoid ?!
The absence of a 2nd row bench in mid to upper trims isn't the worst of it. If you want/need a second row bench so that 5 passengers or in our case 4 humans and a big dog can be accommodated without deploying the third row, you CANNOT have the more capable turbo 2.5L engine! Despite some welcome improvements in the styling of the Sorento and the win/win of the optional engine that has better performance and fuel economy than the V6 it replaces, KIA has stripped all trims of the Sorento with features we value in our 2018 model. (e.g. driver seat memory, nappa leather, extending thigh support for the driver, 4 way lumbar, etc.) But most disappointing of all, eliminating the more powerful engine in trims with a second row bench is a travesty. The advantage of the Sorento over its Santa Fe sibling since 2018 has been the KIA's 3rd row seats. Like many Sorento owners we keep the the 3rd row stowed under the cargo floor nearly all the time. But it's a huge benefit on those occasions when room for 6-7 passengers is required for a short trip and the alternative is taking two vehicles. But if I were shopping for a replacement for our Sorento, we'd pass on the new model and opt for the Santa Fe even though it means giving up the third row.
Bad #4 you said it's a small complaint, but I think it's huge. So much so that there are plenty of kickstarter projects to convert wired to wireless AA/CP, and they usually reach their goals. I personally think it's much more convenient and neat to get into your car and just chuck the phone in the wireless spot, as opposed to having a cable dangling there. Also, wife has iPhone, I have Android, so we need to swap cables! Or have one of those unreliable double connector ones. 😔
I ordered 22 model and here in UAE (Dubai) options are kinda weird. For instance, u get V6 engine with 272hp and 331nm torque which is nice and all but u get way worse mileage than the turbo charged one. Also, we don't get the green or pacific blue colors at all. And to make things extra nice, u get only 1 INTERIOR COLOR which is light silver on all trims. Even if u opt for highest option model u still get the silver leather interior. Lastly, the highest trim is the EX but it has all the SX feature so don't know why they didn't just call it SX. Price of top of the line is $43000 and no Hybrids or PHEV at all.
It seems everyone prefers the bench seats over the captain chairs, including myself, i guess kia doesn't really pay attention, the top trims with a optional bench seat would be huge.
Just got this vehicle! 2022 SX Prestige. Love it so far. For your like #3, I’m not sure about the other trim levels but mine has adjustable seats for the passenger so it’s not just exclusive to the sx x line
FWIW: Upgraded from a 2014 Nissan Rogue SL AWD to a 2022 Sorento X-Line SX-Prestige AWD (2.5T). Very impressed! Very fun to drive with plenty of power in AWD. Much bigger than our Rogue, FAR more power and tons of useful features. Having gotten used to the Rogue's CVT, driving this car in "Smart Mode" w/DCT is fine - you just have to learn how the car works with its power-band (nice) and YOUR driving style (I have one month in on it). Since we are empty nesters, we leave the 3rd row seats down (or even just part of it) much of the time and it has tons of rear room in that mode. The Sorento has 500lbs more weight over the Rogue but I can't feel it at all. I also got a dealer upgraded power train warranty from 100K miles to 200K miles at no cost. Not a fan of the piano black trim due to the dust and fingerprints. It would be better if it were matte. The 2022 did add memory seats with 4-way lumbar and thigh extender, heated 2nd row seats, a real spare tire and the Canadian models have heads up display, 3rd row rear AC and 2nd row window shades along with additional terrain mode we don't get in the USA. Did have to pay $4K over MSRP due to shortages.
@@short5stick If you are talking about the Rogue, it never burned or used oil. I used Castrol Edge 0W-30 oil and Fram XG filters. Run like a top. Never had transmission issues, changed C VT fluid every 30K miles. YMMV. As for the Sorento, does not burn or use oil, same DCT transmission. Works fine.
I seriously wish that Kia would release the PHEV in the US. Test drove the 2022 Kia Telluride and 2021 Kia Sorento yesterday -- both are fantastic vehicles; but if I'm going with gas-powered... I'd definitely spring for the Telluride as the price isn't TOO different between the two and the third row is actually usable.
I just wished the 10 years 100000 miles powertrain warranty would be available as well ok Canada. I definitely feel we are getting less in Canada INT Erma of warranty. Especially given Kia's past engine problems.
Where were you before I bought my S trim, while I was YouTubing before my purchase nobody was really talking about the things it doesn't have. I wanted the SX/Prestige model but those captain chairs killed it for me, they really should be optional. Also on the S trim you get the absolute basics and its not even the base model. The trunk is manual and there is no way to open it from inside the car, no seat memory, and there really is no power in that engine if you have all those seats filled it feels like the car is struggling, and the cabin is a little louder than I'm used to (coming from an Acura RDX), the seats are uncomfortable for long rides. This sounds like a lot but I do like my car I just don't love it ,I feel like if I got a higher trim level I'd would definitely have enjoyed it more. Thanks for your video, t was a great watch 👍🏾
Sir, you like me have been suckered about the Warranty. I purchased a brand new HUNDAI Sonada Sport back in 2017. Loved it. Until I got a engine bearing recall notice. The car had exactly 10k on it from new. They said when it was on the side of the road broken down they would Warranty it. Traded that POS. South Korea Georgia made junk. Don't get suckered sir!!! I did. Research it. Kia/HUNDAI can't make a good small engine.
@@PrimeAutotainment Awd...blew my mind! I made them get me a spare which they made me pay for of course. It doesnt have the mounting bracket either so the spare will have to live in the trunk. Luckily i leased..
Love the redesign and in the market for an SUV but since higher or hybrid trims don't have a second row bench or wireless Android Auto, then have to look elsewhere.
I am in the minority but I hate all digital displays. I know thats the trend but it looks cheap IMHO. Nothing looks better and upscale than real dials and gauges. I still like a tiny digital part in the middle but give me real gauges please

Totally agree about the lack of a bench seat option . I'm not impressed with 2nd row captain seats & prefer a bench .

I was a fan of the redesigned Santa Fe but after spending time with the redesigned Sorento…..I hands down prefer the Sorento.
All your 2 cents on the Sorento are huge pointers for me. I appreciate it.

Thank you very much! I feel the same way, when they first pulled up with that color I liked it right away lol
The captains chairs were a deal breaker for m. Bought a Santa Fe Ultimate Calligraphy instead.
Good call!

Cool story, bro. This video is about a Kia, not a Hyundai.
I have 2021 EX with the same screen and it has wireless carplay. So your wrong about it not haveing wireless car play.
The lack of a bench seat on the upper trim level , eliminates this vehicle for me.
