      @@NicolesBeautyScene I did. And I will try it out. So far I found that the whole thing just spreads when I do it. Either my biab is too liquid or I wait for too long. Do you cure each nail individually? I guess it's also a matter of practice besides the right product...

    • @NicolesBeautyScene
      @NicolesBeautyScene  Год назад +23

      @@curtalaura796 oh I can help you with that!! Ok, so after you apply the Bg to one nail, flip it upside down to build the apex naturally for at least 10 seconds, then quick flip your nail over. Make sure there’s no gel on your skin (wipe it off with an angled eyeshadow brush with isopropyl alcohol). Then flash cure it 5-10 seconds. Then move to your next nail. Same steps with each nail! The thumb gets cured separately, and then the other 4 fingers get cured together (after each was flash cured). The flash curing stops the product from sliding off!

    • @Bright.Vibezzz
      @Bright.Vibezzz Год назад +1

      Make sure you do the bottom of your nail or you can start at the tip of your nail and work down when you’re on your second layer. So I start at the bottom and I will hold my finger down when I’m ready and it seems to just work.

It can be easy to do when trying for an almond shape and I can just see that you really over did it. The left side of your left middle nail is an especially prominent example. I just wanted to point it out, because if it was me over filing, I'd want someone to tell me. Cheers!

    For the life of me, I can never get the builder to apply smoothly or evenly. I do all these tips and tricks and it still comes out lumpy and I thought it was self leveling. But unfortunately I without a doubt always get uneven surfaces and after I paint them is when I realize the mess. I started doing this during the pandemic and figured I’d start a new hobby. Plus I thought I’d continue it due to cost plus I was coming out disappointed from each nail appointment because I never got the shape I wanted. Hi Latisha! Here is the primer I use. After you do your cuticle/nail prep, then dehydrate your nails and apply primer. I dehydrate 5 nails, primer 5 nails, then primer again on those 5 nails. Then go in with builder gel. Most people need a thin layer of gel base before applying builder gel but for a few of us- we get better adhesion without the gel base under. So that’s why I go right in after primer with builder gel. And it helps me to do one hand at a time. So after I’m all done on one hand, then I go to the other hand, dehydrate, primer, etc.

But it’s been found to be causing more gel allergies due to overexposure and repeated exposure to skin. So some companies have chosen to make hema free gels instead. Typically those products are more expensive which is why I have chosen to stay away from cheap gel brands filled with hema as I want as minimal chance as possible to develop a gel allergy! • @NicolesBeautyScene

      Hi Vanessa! The brand I use OG Dip Powder is soak off but I use an efile to file it off and do fills instead! I haven’t soaked in acetone in 2.5 years. Acetone made my skin hurt so bad. You can hand file to do fills too if you aren’t comfortable with an efile. I’ll link videos for both ways for you here. Ask me any other questions you have- I’m happy to help!

    • @NicolesBeautyScene
      @NicolesBeautyScene  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hi! You can build an apex with builder gel! The when you apply the builder gel- the first layer is a super thin layer called the slip layer and you don’t cure it yet. Then you put a bead of builder gel back towards the back of your nail and gently float it down your nail to the tip. Then flip your nail over for like 10-15 seconds so the builder gel levels out and forms an apex naturally! Quick flip your hand over and flash cure it 10 seconds. This will keep the apex where it is. Repeat for 2nd layer if needed!

      I can help you!! You absolutely can do builder gel on short nails. As long as the gel doesn’t touch your bare skin! And then use cuticle oil multiple times a day. My nails grow like crazy when I keep builder gel on and use lots of cuticle oil! They do not grow when I don’t!
      I’m not sure what all salons offer- I personally do my own! I don’t trust nail salon chop shops and the good places who use quality ingredients are out of my budget! Let me know if you want info on doing it yourself!

    Gel allergies?

    • @NicolesBeautyScene
      @NicolesBeautyScene  Год назад +1

      Yes unfortunately people can become allergic to gels if the proper precautions aren’t used or you use low quality products with ingredients known to be more likely to cause allergies. A nail gel allergy is not reversible. Your hands and finger will itch, be red, can blister, and I know people who have lost nails from it. That’s why I’m super particular about what products I use on my nails! And never cure gel on my skin. Always make sure all your gel is completely cured with a lamp with specs that nail tech educators advise. I’m trying to help spread awareness about it!!
