HELLO FRIENDS!! happy thursday! what did you think of these style boxes?! would you try any of these? xox, saf 🖤EDIT: the clear thing i always around my wrist is a hair tie.... not a bracelet!
I mean i think everyone should just buy clothes based on if they feel good in it or not. Fuck what style it is, you buy that form fitting dress, you'll look fresh as fuck while you do the hoovering.
Considering all the time spent on surveys, unpacking, repacking, returning I will happily continue to shop at the mall and get clothes I actually like for a better price!
I really just appreciate Safiya taking so much time to do her videos. Any of the ones where she orders things take weeekkkssss and she films the whole process, and does a lot of research and descriptions to give the best affect of what she's getting. Really hope everybody else notices the effort she puts in.
I'm not sure if it's just me, but renting clothes for a monthly fee of $78 sounds way more stressful than just going shopping and buying your own clothes hahaha
The Trunk Club box was the best for sure. I like that there's a personal connection in that you can have a stylist actually put things together. but tbh go to an actual store- I'm a brand stylist and actually seeing a client you can find better fitting clothes, and have better communication about likes and dislikes
The problem with that is that if you are me, and have crippling social anxiety, going to a store in person is... not neccisarially something that isn't going to end in an anxiety attack, which is not only horrible for me, but tends to worry people who don't know what's happening.
I was like this until I had my son and my boobs kept growing, and shrinking, and growing again. I had to have "after breastfeeding bras" and "before breast feeding bras" and I went up 2 bra sizes during pregnancy and kept 1 of those 2 sizes after breast feeding. Like pregnancy is expensive. Lmao
My current bra is 4 yrs old. I wear it every day. It was 99 cents. It took me awhile to figure out why each cup has a clip. It is a nursing bra. I have never had a baby.
I couldn't help but think about how many times Saf had to go back inside and change before she went back out to showcase each outfit. It's just something cool I noticed and appreciate♡♡
@@Alison-qn1xo I think they were implying Freshmen spend all their money on getting drunk or high. Which is a rookie error on it's own since no female freshmen is buying their own booze. They sort out the right outfits and the alchohol issue takes care of itself lol.
Love this concept. Why don't you try make up subscriptions next? Ipsy, boxycharm, birchbox, the allure box... There are SO many out there. Which is the best value?
Day Larissa yeah. For a lot of them there are 'variations' so you may get variation 1, 2, or 3. If you wanted to see what I mean, there is a subreddit called 'beautyboxes' where people post what they get from what box, sometimes with reviews for everything that came in the box.
Day Larissa hi, so I have subscribed to two. They take a short quiz about preferences and skin color etc and try to match the samples to that. But they have different variations.
I know for Ipsy, they have x amount of products (I think it’s like 20) for the month and after you take a preference quiz it narrows down 5 to you based on the quiz and what’s available
After watching, I've only decided that these style boxes are a complete waste of time and the items are too expensive. I'd rather do my own shopping, try on the items before I pay for them and not be obligated to have to return anything within a short time period or be charged. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Yah most of the items seemed way too expensive (especially the jeans that came with the Trunk box) and I have a sneaking suspicion that they hope you forget to return stuff.
@@ripwitch9833 for the working person they'll definitely forget or not get he time to do so. It took me 12days to find a day I could get to the post office to send out a Depop purchase 😂😂 i had to book annual leave hours to fit it in 😣 so I can imagine them getting money this week

The only one that is a rental service is Le Tote. The rest is just buying. The only time you pay a styling fee is if you return everything. I know with Trunk Club if you have a Nordstrom's credit card they don't charge you the styling fee. Clearance racks are great if you are an unusual size. My daughter has size 5 feet and gets AMAZING shoes on clearance. I found her a pair of Louboutins for 85 dollars!!! But the size 7 clearancea that I wear is usually a picked over boneyard of unwanted, dingy items.
These clothes are expensive af! I just can't imagine paying 48$ for a tank top and 255$ for a pair of skinny jeans. Paying even 40$ for a pair of jeans makes me raise my eyebrows.
Must be for more wealthy people bc I could find such better clothes for cheaper.. it’s crazy it seems like people with more money wear more basic clothes that cost 10x more than cooler style clothes!
For real, who is paying over 200 bucks for jeans? Personally, I wear through the denim in my jeans far too quickly to pay that much for them unless they're so sturdy that they'll last me several years
@@ClioThayerIsACat Full disclosure, I once bought a pair of jeans from that same store as the Trunk box (Nordstrom). After trying on over 40 pairs of jeans (it was an exhausting 1 hour try-on session) only 4 really fit me and only 2 were comfortable+flattering. I had like 300$ in gift cards saved up so I expanded my normal price range. The most expensive of the two pairs ended up being 200$ (which I definitely wouldn’t have bought without the cards either). Well, I’ve owned that pair for 2 years now and there’s no wear on the inner thighs like I normally get on jeans, no fading in the color (its a dark indigo wash), the material and fit is a lot comfier than other jeans of that same style, and its a lot higher quality. It was actually the same brand as a pair I had thrifted before in a rare find, but the thrifted pair was a distressed style and I needed a dark wash+professional cut pair for work. Based on how long the thrifted one has held up, that newer pair will probably last me a very long time which definitely evens out the high initial cost. Don’t get me wrong, not all expensive jeans are better quality either! That try on session composed of jeans from 40-250ish dollars, and the price definitely didn’t guarantee how well made or what materials were used on the jeans. Really well made jeans, along with jackets and shoes, will likely be some of your most expensive items of clothing… they should also be the ones that hold up the longest too! Regardless of original price, jeans should last several years at a minimum. This long life also means that if you know what brands you like that are high quality, looking for them at thrift stores or second hand swaps/marketplaces are great since you know they’ll last you awhile. I know multiple people who have denim that are decades old even (one was a hand-me-down so it was decades of consistent use too!) btw, not sure if this helps, but I have a couple family members in the fashion/textile industry who’ve given me a lot of tips in the past for checking clothing quality. There’s a few easy indicators for quality and how well the jeans will hold up over time too: looking at the fabric/blend (cotton will be more expensive and last longer than most other materials), looking at the dye (even can check its transfer in store), stitch+seam+grommet quality (is the stitches using a thicker thread? Are the seams neat and even? Are the grommets consistently placed and of a good material I/A?), weave quality+thickness (fabric should be substantially thick and have a tight weave to prevent wear on friction spots), size+quality of the pockets (generally larger+better made pockets takes longer and is thus an indicator of how much time was taken to construct the garment), and finally one of the most substantial indicators is the zipper (zippers are one of the most expensive items on a piece of clothing materials-wise. Companies will cheap out by getting smaller/skinnier or shorter zippers or a subpar manufacturer. For mid and high rise especially check that the zipper is extra long which is a quality indicator and also prevents camel toe!) To make clothing last extra long, try be as gentle with the washing+drying process as possible. It can make even the most short lived clothing items (like underwear and undershirts) last a long time too! The fashion industry def tries to scam you out of your hard earned cash, so I hope these tips helps you hold onto your $!
I feel like Safiya spends SO much money on each video, I feel like she deserves a sponsorship regularly. Sure maybe she makes a decent amount of money but still.
I think she doesn’t do sponsorships often for ethical reasons. And she probably wants the liberty to say whatever she wants and some companies will be sneaky about it or maybe she would feel guilty he? Who knows but generally I believe it’s for ethical reasons like that.
I'm not sure why I noticed this just now, but Safiya reflexively moves her hands while she speaks, which I can relate to 😂 I oddly think it actually adds a lot to whatever you say!
It’s called “gesturing” and it’s generally considered a big part of public speaking. It can add emphasis to what the speaker is talking about. (Which is exactly why it feels like it adds to what Safiya says.)
there is this girl named 'internet girl' on Depop who makes personalised style bundles to any kind of aesthetic/style/era you want and its so amazing, and I would love to see you try it because i think her style is very different from yours and it would be so interesting to see you try what she makes you
Right?! Editing, video quality, her personality, the in-depth review. I've never considered doing this until this video. I'm so OCD, and I feel Saf is too, which makes these videos so refreshing.
Colourpop has 3 quizzes on their website. And I was thinking, you should take 3 of those quizzes and then buy the makeup products that they suggest to you. Like so Saf can see this if you think she should do this!
Oh that rental box has maternity option! That could be cool since you don’t usually really wear maternity clothes after pregnancy & few weeks after giving birth.
im calling it- this is about to be trending. saf's out making moves for team internet and all of us youtube creators and viewers since everything else on that page is just late night shows 😂
I don't know why she sent you all 100-200+$ jeans. They have plenty of brands in the 50-75$ range. My favorites are Wit and Wisdom High rise Dark Skinny Jean- 64 dollars and I have them 3 years.
I just had a conversation with someone and actually said, "I don't feel like style has really changed much in the last couple of years." Then I rewatched this video. No shade, I just can't believe how much has actually changed without me realizing! Like I don't even own skinny jeans anymore. Crazy!
Lol, I got jeans very, VERY similar to those faded black jeans from the Trunk Club box from H&M for around $15 and they've been holding up for years. I wouldn't ever pay $219 for those from the box, that's mad expensive. The Trunk Club stuff still did really look good on you, Saf, they seem to have found items completenting you and your usual style quite well.
Nancy Oleary no its not dumb to criticize someone over not having proper hygiene, it’s disgusting, no one should ever excuse being around stankin like that, have proper hygiene, its plain and simple yall nasty af...the people around you will thank u 🤢
Ainsley Woods if you wear your bras for a long time...it means your not washing them...Wash your shit, dont be nasty, theirs no excuse to not washing any article of clothing for a long time
Hun, I wear mine until I can't. Bras are fucking expensive and washing them ruins them. As long as you aren't walking around a swamp I don't see a problem.
I know, that's the thing with the company, they make their workers make soooo much content all the time, it gets repetitive. They are focusing on quantity and not quality and it shows on how damn boring they are now. I didn't even knew Freddie wasn't on Ladylike anymore I stoped watching their content a wile ago, I actually like all of the original girls from Ladylike, but you can see how ther creativity just burned.
Yeah, she's one of the rare people that could just make up a channel by herself and never become boring. She has such creative ideas and BuzzFeed mostly gets them from ongoing trends. Safiya is one of a kind.
Please please please do "I wear my hogwarts house inspired outfits for a week(I know yours is ravenclaw lol) but I think it would be so fun to experiment and embrace your house. Please everyone like this so Safiya will do it lol!!
Yesssssss!!!!!! This is a GREAT idea!!! Please do this!!! Maybe with all the houses, or like do a collab with people from the other houses and do it together!!!💙💛💚❤️⚡️⚡️⚡️
This concept is for people who don't like to shop but do like to spend money. I'm the opposite, I could spend an entire day shopping and still stay within my budget.
I tried stitch fix a few months ago and I may as well have not answered a single question because the stuff they sent me was sooooo random! I sent it all back and said well, that’s that.
Well, they don't REALLY know you, regardless of your answers on their quizzes. You only have the choice of the answers they provide, and can't go into any real details about yourself. I'll keep going to the mall and Goodwill, I think. (Jan Griffiths).
Douglas Griffiths (Jan) I would agree except that I have used another/similar service with a much better result. Also, when you say on the quiz that you absolutely do not want skinny jeans and your box is full of skinny jeans (slight exaggeration), you have to admit that there is a huge disconnect. When your product is service catering to what the customer likes/needs and you don’t even read the questionnaire that YOU provide...just no.
Saf, can I just say that you're absolutely stunning in everything you wear? I've been subbed since before you left Buzzfeed, and I'm so proud that you're wildly successful on your own merit. Your content always makes me smile, and your personality is freakin' awesome. I'm so happy that my 10-year-old daughter has such a wonderful role model in you! Hell, I'm a few years older than you, and you're one of *my* role models. 😂 Thank you for always putting out original content. I appreciate you so much!

For mid and high rise especially check that the zipper is extra long which is a quality indicator and also prevents camel toe!)
To make clothing last extra long, try be as gentle with the washing+drying process as possible. It can make even the most short lived clothing items (like underwear and undershirts) last a long time too! The fashion industry def tries to scam you out of your hard earned cash, so I hope these tips helps you hold onto your $!
You should make a video wearing capes for a week.
*EMILY SHOULD SEND YOU 7 CAPES!*
Yyyyaaaaaassssssss
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Edna Mode would disapprove
I’m your 1000th like
I feel like Safiya spends SO much money on each video, I feel like she deserves a sponsorship regularly.
Sure maybe she makes a decent amount of money but still.
i feel like she does!! but i don't think she accepts them
I feel like she asked the companies she was doing a video and then she gets to trial it for free for the video? That would make sense
Lol a decent amount? Shes pulling in 7 figures.
I think she doesn’t do sponsorships often for ethical reasons. And she probably wants the liberty to say whatever she wants and some companies will be sneaky about it or maybe she would feel guilty he? Who knows but generally I believe it’s for ethical reasons like that.
She probably sets a budget for each video, she’s easily banking a profit for every video she makes.
I'm not sure why I noticed this just now, but Safiya reflexively moves her hands while she speaks, which I can relate to 😂 I oddly think it actually adds a lot to whatever you say!
UnovaTrainerWhite yeah 😂😂😂
UnovaTrainerWhite same
i cant stop looking at her hands now 🤣
irrelevant sameee😂
It’s called “gesturing” and it’s generally considered a big part of public speaking. It can add emphasis to what the speaker is talking about. (Which is exactly why it feels like it adds to what Safiya says.)
"I do wash them...sometimes"
That is so meeee!!!

Pink Kat 😂
Ain't nobody got time to be washing their favorite bra all the time!!
@@abigailtribby7454 That's why I have a week's worth. (Jan Griffiths).
La tote was TERRIBLE in matching. Trunk club did the best.

there is this girl named 'internet girl' on Depop who makes personalised style bundles to any kind of aesthetic/style/era you want and its so amazing, and I would love to see you try it because i think her style is very different from yours and it would be so interesting to see you try what she makes you
I'll be following her!! Thank you
Oh I'm already following her lol
bRIAN
I would so watch that vid
Omg yesss
I'd order from Trunk Club just to get that cool shipping box! lol
raime j the box is really cool and they give you a lot to choose from. Personally they did not give me what I asked for though.
Just thinking the same thing!
How is it possible that saf consistently comes up with incredibly interesting and relevant video ideas on stuff I never even knew I needed
that striped cardigan looked like something out of the kids section
Blues clues
Serious flashbacks to Aeropostale 😹
Drops everything to watch new Safiya video.

Glued on to your videos always from start to end!! No matter how long it is I don't want it to end!! 😊❤
I didn't even realise it was 18 minutes long, until I read your comment
Limelights! It
Right?! Editing, video quality, her personality, the in-depth review. I've never considered doing this until this video. I'm so OCD, and I feel Saf is too, which makes these videos so refreshing.
Trunk club seems like a lot of fun and most personalized along with being easiest to return. So expensive though!
that black jumpsuit looks reeallly good on you!
trunk club was the only one that sent clothes that weren’t underwhelming especially how expensive they all are
Colourpop has 3 quizzes on their website. And I was thinking, you should take 3 of those quizzes and then buy the makeup products that they suggest to you. Like so Saf can see this if you think she should do this!
YES please do it Saf!!
"I tried Customized Liquid Lipstick." Yes!
Yesssss I fully support this idea👌🏾
I'm too picky to order these.
AND CHEAP... Jeez, those prices...
Same. Especially with those prices. Yeah NO.....
Madison More I'm too broke to order these.
Too expensive and I'm WAY to picky with clothes to.
Same here, I also need to be able to try things on
Those Trunk club outfits were so cute! (except for the green dress lol) I loved those outfits. I wouldn't buy them though, way too expensive!
could find cheaper alternatives though! :)
Hi sweetie ur pic is soo pretty
Could prob it find dupes in primark
Tyffanee Lavely Is it bad that I liked the green dress? :o
It is probably because they are from Nordstrom
Safiya Nygaard : 5’9”

Oh that rental box has maternity option! That could be cool since you don’t usually really wear maternity clothes after pregnancy & few weeks after giving birth.
Okay that's actually genius. I didn't even think about that
Is it just me who's binging alllllll her videos during this lockdown?
.... you have no idea~2021-ain
* picks lowest price bracket * *everything is still expensive*
im calling it- this is about to be trending. saf's out making moves for team internet and all of us youtube creators and viewers since everything else on that page is just late night shows 😂
LOVE UR VIDEOS
U should be on trending ;)
"I think she likes me" 😂
The last box is literally everything I would wear
*queen of video ideas*
I’m pretty sure buzzfeed has done this lol
Tbh the trunk club box was so cute and i would totally wear most of those except the price is a big no no

Agree
Me too
I don't know why she sent you all 100-200+$ jeans. They have plenty of brands in the 50-75$ range. My favorites are Wit and Wisdom High rise Dark Skinny Jean- 64 dollars and I have them 3 years.
I liked the wantable box honestly. The outfit with the scarf was so cute
I was in the middle of another video but that was all over when your notification popped up 😂
I did the same thing
you literally comment on all the videos I watch wtf
Almost every single video I watch, you are the number one comment. HOW?!😄

the black stripey shirt from trunk club fits her so well and is so cute on her. i was very pleased that she kept it.
“I like to wear the same bras for years on end. I do wash them.... sometimes.” Literally me 😂 and probably most people who wear bras!!
Or me who just gave up on normal bras and only wears sports bras now
another night of avoiding homework, another much needed saf video !!!! :)

Trunk club was definitely the best one. Had way cuter clothes.
And was actually picked by a real person.
True, Nordstrom out there getting a 10/10 if only I wasn’t poor/ cheap
I just had a conversation with someone and actually said, "I don't feel like style has really changed much in the last couple of years."
Then I rewatched this video. No shade, I just can't believe how much has actually changed without me realizing! Like I don't even own skinny jeans anymore. Crazy!
Safiya at 9:30 is me trying to dance 😂
17:20 “So, I think she likes me.”
I wheezed
I was the person who gave you your 100th like your welcome
you should do three full outfits out of a garage sale!!!!
Omg yes haha
Good idea!
great idea!
Great idea!
YES
I just can’t get on board with La Tote. Paying a fee to have the privilege of returning the clothes is such crap.
I saw they had maternity wear, which might make sense, but honestly it's cheaper to go to Goodwill
*To The Club*
Josh Fake i saw this as she was saying it oh em ge
Lol, I got jeans very, VERY similar to those faded black jeans from the Trunk Club box from H&M for around $15 and they've been holding up for years. I wouldn't ever pay $219 for those from the box, that's mad expensive. The Trunk Club stuff still did really look good on you, Saf, they seem to have found items completenting you and your usual style quite well.
Omg, that black and white stripey top 😍😍❤️❤️
oh trunk club totally did the best. i know where i’d go now if i ever in my life ever need a constant supply of new clothes
“I like to wear the same bras years on end” I literally almost high fived my screen
Ew...
Nancy Oleary no its not dumb to criticize someone over not having proper hygiene, it’s disgusting, no one should ever excuse being around stankin like that, have proper hygiene, its plain and simple yall nasty af...the people around you will thank u 🤢
Farts in jars the op didn’t say she didn’t wash her bras, she just implied she wears them for a long time
Ainsley Woods if you wear your bras for a long time...it means your not washing them...Wash your shit, dont be nasty, theirs no excuse to not washing any article of clothing for a long time
Hun, I wear mine until I can't. Bras are fucking expensive and washing them ruins them. As long as you aren't walking around a swamp I don't see a problem.
*not so much up top, a decent amount of junk in the trunk*

That moment when you realize Safiya's channel is waaaay more successful than Ladylike and it's just the work of two people 🖤
I was subscribed to ladylike, but it sucks so much now it's almost annoying. I unsubscribed.. I think Safyia & Freddie made it funny.
That choker dress like ridiculously good on you.
YESSSS!!!!!
I VOTE FOR THIS SUGGESTION.
The striped uneven hem looks so good on you. Glad you picked it.
DAMN! TRUNK CLUB MURDERED THIS CHALLENGE. KUDOS TO EMILY!
Your videos are always interesting - your videos aren’t “filler” boring videos like everyone else which I love
The boxes came right out off 2009 except for the last one

This concept is for people who don't like to shop but do like to spend money. I'm the opposite, I could spend an entire day shopping and still stay within my budget.
CC Paul yes!!!! shop all day, buy a lot, and only spend around £60 ahah
I hate shopping and spending money.
i love shopping, I have my money but not spending it all on clothing sorry
Me too!
Also, I think it's for people who have good standard silhouette. I don't feel like any of these subscriptions take your shape into account.
You should review all the food boxes like hellofresh and blue apron!
Emily Stenger
My mind just flashed to all of the dumb segues that Jacksfilms used when he was sponsored by those.
Emily Stenger yess
Yes yes yes Saf do it!
I think she should do a romwe haul.
how did you know....
Gurl, Stitchfix sent me the same tops in one of my boxes and my answers were nowhere near Saf's 😭
I literally just got that tan cardigan last week from them.
Ayo Stitchfix get your shit together
Saf, can I just say that you're absolutely stunning in everything you wear? I've been subbed since before you left Buzzfeed, and I'm so proud that you're wildly successful on your own merit. Your content always makes me smile, and your personality is freakin' awesome. I'm so happy that my 10-year-old daughter has such a wonderful role model in you! Hell, I'm a few years older than you, and you're one of *my* role models. 😂
Thank you for always putting out original content. I appreciate you so much!
