I have the highest respect for how you guys conduct yourselves in this sport. Your passion and patience are what makes fishing more of a lifestyle and you demonstrate that in every video. Congrats on the amazing fish!
Ain't that a thing!!!!! Small creek big trout and then this amazing respectful behaviour and awe!! Guys you totally deserve this because you are showing it all your deepest respect!! Good for you..... fishon!!
Thats a great fish, it's also a testament to the quality of the river as you only get fish like that if the water is clean and well oxygenated, and there is a plentiful supply of natural food for them. Well done a good capture mate.
Awesome, nice to see some fisherman who understand what it's about. "to us a trophy is uh 5 or 6 inch native brookie". Don't get me wrong though I too dream of big fish lol.
Awesome video and even better fish! You’re editing and production keep getting better and better with each video. You’re b-roll shots are your own style. Keep up the good work! Looking forward to more!
Nice Brown!! We have some "wild natural" streams here in Missouri but the trout aren't native they are stocked fish that revert back to the wild in the cold spring water fed streams. They are mostly trout management areas where you are only allowed to keep 1 fish over 15" but I don't keep them anyway. I started tying my own woolly buggers years ago and quickly found out that sometimes bigger is better. Mine look very similar to what you were using with a brass bead head, slightly bigger hook like a Dai-Riki #700 size 10 so I can make the body longer and add more bulk with my chenille and marabou. I also fish them on weighted fly line to get it down in the deeper pools where the bigger fish are. This combination will produce all day long even when most other anglers have given up I'm still catching trout. Love the vids, I dropped a sub and keep making them.
Just moved to North PA all the way from Mississippi. Totally different fishing experience. Really looking forward to catching big trout. I’m just completely out of my element. Haha great vid guys
I'm from PA myself boys, loving your content. Not many of those hidden gems up my way, well that I know of that is. Always looking for new locations, keep up the good work 👍😎
Beautiful fish. Reminds of nice Montana browns where I grew up. I need to get out and explore more of Maryland and Pennsylvania. Keep hunting for those pigs.
Awesome Brown! Great job. Let’s remember the 10 second rule. Snap a photo and get him back in the river asap. It would be a shame to take that beautiful Brown out of the gene pool.
i get them like that all the time,,,,but watching your vid takes me back to how special it is and how lucky i am to get 22 to 24 inch wild browns in tiny water...been doing it for 40 years now and will not quit,,,,i gave up on brookies and i hunt big wild browns,,,,love the solitude on tiny water
Congrats on landing that beautiful brown! Persistence does pay off ! It’s a great feeling to finally land a trophy fish of that size after losing a couple , good job on the release also! Tight lines!
Great fish. I live in South Dakota. Our western part of the state, the Black Hills has about 386 miles of trout streams, many like this little one you fished. People often overlook these small streams, but as you found out, there are big fish in there, you just have to get the right presentation to them.
Outstanding. That is gem for any stream.. But for a small stream. That one is going to be tough to beat. Iron Mike sent me a picture. Congrats. Thanks for sharing with Us...
What ever drew you to smaller streams and finding large trout like this. Most of us fishermen think large trout such as this only live in larger bodies of water. What other larger streamers would you suggest? Great trout. Tight lines to you! Good video.
Harry Gray: It appears you landed the fish in good respectable time. Many videos see the great catch playing the fish forever. Thanks in that respect. Enjoy January 2020!
I AGREE ON A TROPHY TROUT. IT DEPENDS WHERE YOU ARE. AND HOW LONG YOU HAVE BEEN FLY FISHING. THOUSANDS OF FISH LATER, YOU APPRECIATE ALL OF THEM. LIFE IS TO SHORT, CAPTURING EVERY MOMENT OF IT. THANKS FOR LETTING US REMEMBER ALL WE HAVE DONE. 🕊🕇👁✌😎
Maybe I missed it, but what size tippet was used for that beast of a brown? Landed it fast! Maybe it was just so cold and that thing was sluggish, but the monsters always seem to seek roots or structure immediately and break me off in short order on small creeks.
Excellent! Encouraging, too, for PA streams. That's about all I use for Erie trib steelhead with streamers. One long piece, actually, is my "leader." I'm likely overthinking the whole thing. Good vids, again!
Did you run a tapered leader before your tippet or just straight off the fly line to a long tippet? Im from the U.K. and about to try streamers for a change (they are never used here). Great fish, love your videos!
Nice fish, good job on fly rod. Its surprising to some people how big they can get in small streams. It's because those browns have eating habits like a largemouth bass - anything living that will fit in its mouth. Thats exactly where alot of the native brookies end up. Therefore when i catch larger browns like that i eat them. Its a bit like shooting starlings because they harm native species. They arent supposed to be here,we'll never be rid of them, and they need controlled imho. I think a 10" native brookie is a trophy worthy of a pic or vid and carefully released.
I've just started creek fishing for wild browns recently and have a few questions for you. First of all how do you know which creeks have brownies in them? Just fish them and see? Second, what are characteristics you look for in a creek that let you know there could be brown trout living in them? Third, What state are you in? I'm in northern Pennsylvania and I creek fish for for pike often and never hook into any brown trout but i know they are around i just don't know what creeks to try. And last what would be a "search bait" you would reccomend to try and locate some? Any help or additional tips would be great!
Awesome job man! In New Zealand that's just the average size you'd catch, went out yesterday and caught 7 4-7LB brown trout & rainbow using quite a small fly might start my own channel up
Allegheny Native I live in South Island, heaps of big trout here aswell as twizel canals which carry 30LB+ Rainbows! Huge fish & great tasting! I'll hopefully try video some fly fishing this weekend and slap together something to upload :) maybe a catch n cook!
People that belittle a man’s catch by bragging about how big the fish are in their area annoy the shit out of me. Tell us all about it when you post the video footage of your giant trout,Kiwi.
Pete W Sounds like somebody's jealous they can't catch anything? Never said anything bad about his catch did I? That's just the average size here is what I'm saying.. your the one bringing the negativity 🤙
I have the highest respect for how you guys conduct yourselves in this sport. Your passion and patience are what makes fishing more of a lifestyle and you demonstrate that in every video. Congrats on the amazing fish!
Thank You we really appreciate that!

Love the emotion from you man! That fish had you well and full choked up! Sweet!
Enjoyed that alot guys. Loved the genuine nature of it as well.
That is a slab out of that water.
Awesome, nice to see some fisherman who understand what it's about. "to us a trophy is uh 5 or 6 inch native brookie". Don't get me wrong though I too dream of big fish lol.

A trick : you can watch series on kaldrostream. Me and my gf have been using it for watching all kinds of movies recently.
@Sean Misael Yea, I have been watching on KaldroStream for since november myself :)
Such a healthy looking fish. Great little stream there.
A few of my local waters regularly produce fish like that and then some 8-10lb browns mixed in there! Awesome video!
Terrific video. Great work guys. Enjoy the channel.
The AugVlog thank you!

Thank you! We love fishing these small streams, and most people cannot believe a fish this size came out of a stream so small, but they're in there!
Tucked in way back under the roots on a turn in the Creek lives the wily cannibal brownie. Beautiful fish fellas.
This is a beautiful movie with such of good atmosphere :)
Thank you!!
As always killer video and fish guys.
Lively Legz thanks guys!!

Frankie Shoenfelt thanks Frankie!
Beast!
I have big streamers in my vest but hardly ever use um. You have made me reconsider. I will use them more often haha.
Wintertime streamer fishing has become one of
my favorite ways to target big trout! That’s a fish of a lifetime!
It's becoming one of ours too!
Love big browns on a streamer. When you hook into a fish and you feel that first massive head shake 👁 👁 great vid new sub!

Beautiful brownie🎣👍
very good boys, congratulations...
That brown was so nice I was just yelling at my phone lmao
Love it. Good stuff, guys. Casting streamers is awkward, at best, in small streams, but it can pay off. Evidence captured.
crawford1976 thank you!

crawford1976 Actually just tied on a piece of 4 lb test flouro, nothing special

Amazing share .where you fish ?
awesome video! I'm sure you've answered this a million times, but I was wondering what camera/lens setup you are running?
awesome vid guys
Wow, beautiful fish! I bet that thing had your hearts racing!
Backyard Angling you bet!!
Awesome video!
Sweet brownie!! Nice hat too
What brand are those bags you guys are wearing ?
When you caught the Big Brown. Were you using your 10ft 2wt?
No, i was using a 8'6" 5 weight. But i have caught just as big of fish on the 10' 2 weight and it handles them just as good if not better
Inspiring
What size is that rod and reel set up?
Awesome job man! In New Zealand that's just the average size you'd catch, went out yesterday and caught 7 4-7LB brown trout & rainbow using quite a small fly might start my own channel up
Puff awesome!! We'd love to make it there at some point in our lives
Allegheny Native I live in South Island, heaps of big trout here aswell as twizel canals which carry 30LB+ Rainbows! Huge fish & great tasting! I'll hopefully try video some fly fishing this weekend and slap together something to upload :) maybe a catch n cook!

Do you guys ever fish in Allegheny State Park?
Zak Mazur nope! Can't say we ever have
Allegheny Native u guys should definitely try it out
Zak Mazur hopefully we can someday!
OMG that accuracy arrow cast!!
Awesome fish congrats
wow great fish a true trophy congrats how long was it???
I am just curious what length rods you are using for those tight streams.
Kyle Settle we fish anywhere from 8'6" to 10'. They all work great, even on the little streams. In this video I was using an 8'6" 5 weight
