Hey folks! I've been working on this track for a while, and I'm excited to share it with you now that it's done. It's my take on an unofficial genocide theme for Starlo, with a jazzier feel? Also, Ari created a concept using an earlier version of this song, which you can find below. Hope you like it!

GUN OF THE NORTH STAR
One thing I'm realising is that Star is one of the few monsters that has a non-magic attack. Most other monsters are using magical manifestations, which are inherently less effective against humans.
But Star just has a real actual gun that Clover is on the receiving end of. Guess that's why it was so important that Star used the bb gun in the Genocide duel.
I think its more effective because gun hurts you physically, not spiritually. Hence he has gun
The only problem i can see is durability, clover in this point probably can tank bullets only using the body (becue all levels obtained), starlo in base never have a chances (an in the same starlo figth atack using the gun tho atack the soul no the body, probablie becuase a part of him no want kill clover, but i dont know)

Imagine if Starlo uses real gun in genocide fight. He starts with shooting you with 6 bullets which you can dodge only by dashing, and if they hurt you you will bleeding (similar to San's karma, bleed will decrease your HP, but faster than karma). All his attacks are him shooting his six shooter, and after every attack Starlo will be reloading his gun. When Starlo reload revolver you will have a turn and you need to attack him, but if he reload before you attack, he will start next attack immediately and you miss your turn. Fight continues until Starlo run out off ammo (cuz it's real gun and I think idea that it will using real, not magical bullets are cool) and if you don't miss any of your turns you will kill him (if you equip ammo with with high attack and make every shot critical you will end the fight earlier and skip some of final attack and Starlo will have a special dialogue) but if you you left him with some hp Statlo will shot you with his dueling gun (that yellow gun that he have in duel sequence on every route) and deal you 1 damage. After that you only can kill him
That's a really cool idea
"Her"? Starlo is a guy.
Cool idea though. It sounds like the kind of battle where Starlo replaces that dancer dude in order to try and end your rampage.
@@hythunza1811 I'm bad at english

The motifs from Retribution at the end are perfect.
Enemy retreating has just become clover's genocide theme for me, especially with the motif creeping its why into the second half of both genocide bosses/themes.. It was perfect how you used it similarly here! awesome job man
I'm pretty sure that's exactly what it's supposed to be. It's foreshadowed in some pacifist dialogue from martlet that battle music could also come from humans in some situations.
yeah, but not a lot of tracks incorporate it so well into the track too. like in this one, it fits extremely well with the instruments and they all blend together so nicely (same with the sting/the north star motif!)

1:21 Enemy Retreating!!!!
Also Retribution on 1:42
1:22 I think this series is like the clover soundtrack(As if Clover were the final boss and the enemy was the hero)
1:20 i’ve never heard anyone incorporate the early part of enemy retreating into a track like this but it sounds so good here
Very cool Genocide Starlo theme! I feel like if you were to end up fighting him in Geno instead of Ceroba, then you should lose out on knowing his real name and exclusively fight him as North Star. Since you’d be doing Geno, you won’t get to see his full character development, and he’ll instead lose himself entirely to his persona in order to protect his town.
(You might get hints towards the end of the fights, like cryptic lines about his “performance”, but largely keeping it hidden instead of fully confessing to Clover.)
need a mod like this tbh. they shafted him so hard in the real geno run it SUCKS
@@epzanoletty yea.. i would've loved to see him do a bunch of funny tricks to fight dirty like he did in his pacifist/neutral fight where he lasso'd you, Ceroba already got to shine at the end of pacifist so idk why she gets to do something again in the middle of genocide when you have a cowboy/sheriff themed boss right there

@@thurapy684plus as someone else already said, making starlo the final boss in geno would be a great subversion of the fact that the pacifist final boss is japanese themed.
It would have been so cool!!!! In pacifist, he is too obsessed with his North Star persona, and you have to knock it out of him… In genocide though, instead of pushing him further into it, he just gives up, lays the REAL GUN on the ground for you to take (like okay, ignoring the whole starlo personality thing, basically giving a dangerous weapon is probably like, treason or something??????), and INTENTIONALLY LOSES in a duel with you?? I'll be honest - and I'm not sure how to really describe it - but I sort of preferred the old version in the genocide concept Ari had. It felt more fitting for UTY but I could not explain why that is.
Maybe it's the piano or inclusion of so many jazz-like instruments? Anybody else getting that feel?
That addition of Enemy Retreating & Retribution was necessary and much appreciated tho.
Spoilers: On pacifist your obstacles are Dalv, Martlet, El Balidor, Feisty Five (4), Starlo, Gardener, Axis, Ceroba
While genocide has the same order except El Balidor, Feisty Five Starlo included with Ceroba taking their place for 1 fight. Then you skip Gardener and onto Axis again while finishing at Martlet/Zenith.
While I do like that Star was too nice to actually try and kill Vengeance (Genocide) Clover it would’ve been really cool if he was a genuine fight somewhere near the end for a Sheriff V. Vigilante/Avenger fight.
Now this is a spectacular VENGEANCE ROUTE THEME for Starlo or rather NORTH STAR. Love that you made sure to throw the ENEMY RETREATING MOTIF in there as well. While having aspects of SHOWDOWN.

I like to think that SNAP part when retribution kicks in is Clover breaking out of the lasso, and soon enough the tide turns in their favor

you've managed to make a song that surpasses the original starlo boss music. very well done.
This song is neat! It's a quite the jam and certainly worthy of the sheriff's last stand we should've gotten.
But... well, I'm going to be honest here. In my PERSONAL opinion, I still really, really like the version used in Genocide concept video. The sound effects in the background, the way it leads into the melody with Showdown coming in immediately... it just hits harder for me.
This version is still VERY cool, don't get me wrong! But it'd be awesome if you would potentially consider releasing one of the older versions or something like that, too.
I don't really expect such a thing (because who does that, right?), but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.
That's valid there are a few reasons I changed that, it was partially because this crowded the drop and made the melodies less distinguishable, and notably the melody worked really well for 0:40 so I decided to keep it there. maybe I'll post an alt version in my discord who knows?

In my first walkthrough, i image the fight with Feisty Five. And if that were the case, then they would have more of a vibe Undyne the Undying. In fact, all five of them were just playing sheriffs, constantly. And imagine how cool it would be if they realized that all the time they were just playing The sheriffs, and only when Clover is about to destroy everyone, they seriously try to stop them. They would cooperate their attacks all the time, forgetting their grievances against each other (like Mooch and Ed) and their The main goal would be to stop you. If you attacked Starlo, he would deflect your bullets with his lass, and if you attacked the others, he would save them by pulling them back with his lass. To win you only need to shoot Starlo. Thus, sooner or later his lasso will break, and save himself and the rest of the five. So, we kill one at a time, and depending on who we kill first, second, and so on, Their reactions to each other's deaths will be different, as in Ruined Knight in TS! Underswap

Oh
You KILLER my GIRLFRIEND THE ROBA?? I am going to GHOST TOWN you...
This song was really good and very hype! I wonder why the imagery of the Train Problem wasn't brought up more for him when he has a literal train attack now that I'm looking at it, but the devs still made good canon material!
[In Canon] Thinking over if having to choose between Clover and his friends (Ceroba and his posse) was a Trolley Problem-esque situation though. I mean... 5 or 1? Sounds familiar. The thing is, the longer the fight progresses, the more he reflects on his actions. He's not being the Hero, he's being a "bandit". But he still continues, because the situation is "the same". He begins doing it for the Underground's respect even though he knew the Wild East would never forgive him- still a "majority against minority" situation. The only thing that's changed is the scale of it all.
The thing is, the original trolley problem doesn't always have personal stakes on the minority end. It just had 5 against 1, but pulling the lever gives responsibility on your end. The fact he has such high stakes on that end and still chooses to metaphorically pull the lever is gut-wrenching, because he wants Justice. He wants it so badly, but is this it? In the end, aren't him and Clover both just serving their own Judgment? Also the fact he's not afraid to make the game real as long as *he's* the one in control says something.
In the Genocide/Vengeance Route, he doesn't shoot down Clover, possibly because he knows he *can't* win against a literal serial killer. He believes he's how he thinks of himself: Starlo, the nobody farmer. He can only do one thing- buy time for Ceroba to evacuate whoever she can while you both walk the ten paces. Because's she's the stronger one of the two, both metaphorically and literally. He's the childish one, he's the naive one, at least in his eyes. So what else can he do? Even the shadow over Clover's eyes could foil his default one, the way they've both "gone a bit too far" and hurt people.
Maybe in this alternate timeline, he isn't playing so fair?
But in the Pacifist/Neutral Routes, he has power. He has control. He's the almighty sheriff. So who's stopping him from making the act real? Certainly not you, and certainly not anyone else. They left him, remember? (At least, he thinks so.) So why shouldn't he pull the lever here when he's willing to do it before? What's stopping him from achieving that fame and glory and respect he deserves, no matter how much he regrets it later? Who's going to stop him? That's why he smiles when he shoots at us-- he's on a godforsaken power high. *He's* the one in control, and we know it just as well as he does. That's why our only Spare option is to surrender. For all the ACTs not ultilized well, I can at least let his slide.
In all routes, he is his own limiter. His biases make him turn everything into the trolley problem, his own perceptions have him Judge who's a nobody and who isn't (Starlo & North Star, for instance), and his own actions depend on how he sees himself. When he thinks he's a nobody, he withdraws on himself and becomes softspoken and unexpressive. When he thinks he's on top of the world, he's loud, and boistrous, and outspoken. He is a walking self-fulfilling prophecy *and* the prophet.
The worst part is, he's technically pulled the lever *before.* That is, during the heavily implied drought that turned the Dunes into... well, the Dunes. He left and turned the town into what we know it by today: the Wild East. But in becoming the sheriff, he moved out and left his family behind. Familiar again? Oh right, the *trolley problem.* Your family or an entire town- if not more people if you're considering Oasis!
It's no wonder half the town is run on escapism- the choices he's had to make have hefty *personal* prices to pay. But he met the Feisty Four through his actions, he met Virgil, he got well-acquainted with the town- all because he pulled the lever. *Of course* he thought it would be worth it to shoot us down; he would've never gotten to where he is today without it. Would you rather not take action and lay in bed at night wondering what could have been, or make that choice and regret later? (How *did* he learn about the trolley problem anyway?)
The worst part is that it didn't need to be this way. He didn't account for the fact he could've just apologized because he didn't think what he'd done was forgivable- because he couldn't let himself off the hook. He wanted to help, but he'd only hurt, and it was with what he'd used to lift the town up by its bootstraps all those years ago? He didn't account for the fact he could still keep in touch with his family because he didn't think *Starlo* could be the almighty sheriff, only *North Star.* Because he was some nobody farmer, right?
He and Ceroba are clearly foiled throughout the game, and this is another display of that. Because not only is one of his lines in response to her "Where was I a few hours ago? In this exact situation.", Ceroba herself admits she was "tunnel visioned". He only sees the fact there are stakes for his mistakes, not the fact he can fix the root of the issue. Because he *thinks* it's his fault and it's his responsibility because he's too darn stubborn to ask for help.
I can't get over his train attack *and* how Train Problem could be relevant to his circumstance in a Geno fight, essentially.
His self-awareness is what stops him from fighting us in canon, so maybe he fights us here not because he thinks he'll win, but because he wants *everyone* to leave (people like Dina who stay behind in canon, for example). Maybe it's an actual Ghost Town after you've defeated him to hammer in that he at least succeeded. Maybe this foils original Undertale in making you regret your decisions not in the same way you're fighting a valiant hero who protected someone else, but because he still knows he won't win against you, but he'll be damned if he doesn't try- *or his name isn't North Star.*
I wonder if anyone will make a Vengeance Route track for him with a Train Problem motif?
Edit: needed to add a TL;DR.
TL;DR - Starlo's entire decision-making criteria is the Trolley Problem, because he's done it before, will again, but doesn't actually want to regret his decisions. Therefore, cowboy funny escapism haha (but can be weaponized for specific situations like these).
incomprehensibly hard in both in concept and execution

Clover LV 1, ATK 22 DEF 20. Starlo ATK 20 DEF 15
The deputy of justice. The sheriff of justice.
Don't let them live
Frisk, LV 17 HP 84/84
[FIGHT] [ACT] [ITEM] [MERCY]
I have been listening to this on repeat for the past couple weeks. This is great. If you ever make a Retribution remix, I'm sure it will be amazing. Keep doing what you're doing!
yet another amazing song from fazzy
I REALLY wanted star to get a cool geno boss like martlet did, hes my favorite character, sure does suck that ceroba is the only character the devs cared about, oh well at least I have this
I even have a really cool idea for how the fight could work, it could start with clover drawing his gun, and star shoots it out of his hand, then lassos him like in his normal boss to stop him from retrieving it
Yes.
Just yes. Banger song.
May I use this track for my genocide starlo fan game I'm working on? I'll make sure to credit you.
sure!
Thank you :)@@fazzyyyy
Starlo if he tanked the bullet
This is how we know Undertale Yellow is some real quality stuff, the recursive fanworks are incomprehensibly good
Great job, dude! :)
Retribution Fazzy remix when
(Great song, loved that small change in Enemy Retreating)
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS LET'S GOOOO SO EPIC
still I've gotta be honest it sounded better when 0:40 was together with 0:20, it was a strong drop. But it's still my favorite undertale yellow remix so far!
that's just my opinion ofc
This song is actually PEAK
* now, a dignified sheriff would fight their opponent fairly.

the song to quickdraw a star who's *overdue his supernova*
STRAIGHT FIRE
So you know how time slows down when he shoots you in that one attack in paci + neutral?
He slows time when YOU shoot him here, allowing him to dodge
*Greed /// Climax-Encore* (4-4-2)
*Ghost Town*
That's pretty darn good

An alternate tiyke for the song could be Sherrifs Duty ,Redemption or like Drifting Bullets
