You won't hear much growling from Nightwish but, any time you do, it's Floor who is doing it. Marko, the bass player/male singer, has a varied palette of colors to his voice, but he doesn't growl. What you have to expect from Nightwish is that every song is going to be different. Expect the unexpected and you will be happy.
Floor does the growls but don't worry everyone thinks it is Marko who does them at first listen. The song is about the toxic elements of social media.

Like so many others before you, you cannot bring yourself to believe that Floor is doing all the harsh growling on this song while Marko, the bassist sings clean on every chorus above her growls. No shame in not recognizing it because it is absolutely incomprehensible what this woman can do with her vocals. Nightwish Army Phoenix here and I am so glad to see you come back to explore more of Nightwish. I loved your reaction and don't feel taken aback by the fact that you, like many other reactors before you, do not realize that our lovely Floor is doing all the growling. Epicness right there on that stage. The Gold Standard for live music performance. Floor can do it all from angelic to growls and everything in between. Phenomenal song, the second on the set list following "Shudder Before the Beautiful" one of the best show openers ever. Thank you for an insightful reaction. 🙏😊👍❤️
Floor is our growling Queen, and she is a bad ass. She can do anything vocally, anything, watch again and pay closer attention in the chorus, will shock you. 😂
Nightwish are a truly great band - and Floor Jansen is the absolute best front person out there.
Your comment is well-taken about this being more accessible to new listeners, at least for metal fans. I've always thought "Storytime" from Wacken 2013 is the perfect introduction to Nightwish, because it's so accessible and has wide appeal, while still being very Nightwishy. But for straight up metal fans, this or Romanticide from Wacken 2013 would also be great intros. Most people start with "Ghost Love Score," and that's great, but often it's too much too soon for people new to the genre.

As has been mentioned it's Floor that growls in every chorus while Marko sings clean. It's his reaction to Internet trolls and he wanted Floor to demonstrate more of her abilities.
FYI - That is Floor doing the growls. Yup! We understand the classic rock comment. Real singing, less the guttural stuff all the time.

Floor is doing the growls. Marko's voice is soft and clean although he can scream like crazy. Remember when you first tried Nightwish and not being a fan of the style, good to see you continued to hear there other songs.

You've heard the symphonic obviously, but how about the ballads (Sleeping Sun Masters of Rock 2015) or Dead Boy's Poem (Buenos Aires 2018); or the Celtic folk-rock (My Walden, Wembley or Tampere both 2015); or the unclassifiable Harvest or Shoemaker music videos; or Endless Forms Most Beautiful (Tampere 2015)?

There is no perfect song to introduce someone to Nightwish to. They have so many different sounds and styles that what one person things is the best song,, another will be far on the other end of the spectrum. I have a very broad musical taste, so I love them all. Just please never rap or sing country Nightwish! Haha.
