When you come to "The Greatest Show on Earth", select the Tempère version as it is the most amazing. And turn the captions on as the lyrics are so important to the meaning of the song.

It took me a while to figure out that it was floor doing the growling during the chorus!

@@NPK476 It's not really weak, that's the mixing lol. I've heard a lot of her work, and I myself have trained in extreme vocals for over 15 years. Trust me, her voice is definitely strong as hell if she wanted to do it. But, especially in a live setting when mixing is already focused on her singing pretty much, and her growls really aren't. I can guarantee you this is an engineer compression thing.
Her growls, if one was to compare it, is pretty on par (or close to) Angela Gossow's. Prior to Nightwish she was mostly doing growling and singing, so there's probably not much space to shine in that regard in the band. But even with this song, even in the studio version, it's more like a backed-up layer vocal to accompany Marco. So, it's more muted in general. But the studio version you can definitely hear some pretty colorful growls, but I'm not a fan of the vocal's mixing in it personally (it's so muted!)
Here's a little snippet you can really hear the detail, but usually anything from Revamp or After Forever where she screams is live, so mixing is always more tuned to her singing: ruclips.net/video/SNPesLFTnUg/видео.html
I mean, at the end of the day it's your opinion of course. I just figured I'd try to show you different colors of her growling range.
Lastly, I absolutely love Alissa since The Tempest, then The Agonist (Panophobia, really the entire Prisoners album is one of my all-time favorites) and Tatiana is a Ukrainian warrior. Even Courtney LaPlante is absolutely fantastic and has wonderful skill in her vocal technique. But really the only one that is acceptable to compare to when saying "Well why can this one singer do it and this one can't," would be Floor and Alissa, simply due to Alissa also sometimes doing operatic voices. Though, as you probably know, in Arch Enemy she is pretty much only screaming. And if she were to sing, I believe it's been two songs (Reason to Believe and Handshake with Hell) haha. Funny enough, Handshake with Hell is one of my favorite songs with Alissa because it reminds me of her versatility that she used in The Agonist.

Thanks for your usual happy, smiley comments. I'm sick of boring fart reactors who just go "ok", "ok", "uh" and the "why have I heard of them before" as if its everyone elses fault. Saw them last Tuesday in Birmingham for a wonderful show. How Floor was so brilliant less than a month after surgery I don't know. As you correctly said "fan-fuckin'-tastic"❗

I regret (not really) to inform you, but you have fully crossed over into being a Nightwish addict. Side effects are Huge Smiles, Outburst of "Fuck Yeah!", "I Love this!" etc. There are no known remedies, though symptoms can be controlled with daily listening to all the content you know, as well as more reactions to widen the scope of treatment.
But seriously, we LOVE this band and love watching people go through the steps of discovering them, especially when it's obvious that they love them too!

I say this, not only because it's Nightwish, on a _boat,_ but the first time I heard Yours Is An Empty Hope, I did not know that Floor could growl. And when I saw the video, but only heard Marko singing, it _blew my friggin' mind_ when I realized Floor was growling! Like, no joke, you really can't tell Floor is growling unless you hear it, because she gets so low. Plus, I love her "haunting" vocals in this song.
Imagine standing there and seeing all these people absolutely going nuts. Not much to say about your reaction without repeating myself just 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁.

Saw Nightwish live this week in Birmingham, absolutely stunning. Last 2 songs, Ghost Love Score followed by The Greatest show on Earth
saw them at Wembley the night before, Shoemaker and Hows the heart acoustic, GLS surprised me because of how big it was instrumentally but the "end" note was just utter perfection

Seeing unbridled joy is a joy to watch. Another has already said it but...Tampere version for The Greatest Show on Earth is recommended. It isn't just a song to watch, it's a performance, like a stage show about the creation of the universe. You have a slow but mesmerising beginning, a full onmiddle, and an emphatic ending.

I feel like a parent watching their beloved child open presents on Christmas morning when you watch a new Nightwish song. Each new one is another delight with squeals of joy and happiness. At the end of the list, there are always new performances of songs you've heard, or songs they don't perform live from the archives. Always love your energy and personality ... I'll be crying with you, as I usually do. No matter how much screaming others do, watch the Tampere version of TGSOE. Then watch the Wembley version - they're different and so very much to appreciate in both, but Tampere is magic, because Floor's parents are in the audience for the first time, and it's home for Tuomas, Emppu and Marco. This was the second song in the shows on this tour. They opened with Shudder Before the Beautiful. You probably want to check that one out too. You are probably ready for The Greatest Show on Earth. Most will recommend the Tampere version. I might slightly prefer the Wembley version. Both should be watched. You can go with Tampere for initial reaction. You might be best off still waiting on The Poet and the Pendulum. Dive a little deeper into their history, get to know their time with Tarja a little more. There is one definitive performance of that song (from this Wembley show). Enjoying following your Nightwish journey!

Just saw the footage of the live concert in Amsterdam from 27-11 and 28-11. amazing good and with guest Henk Poort singing Phantom of the Opera. The best version of the song i heard.
Yeah, that's one of their heaviest songs, especially out of their newer material. Floor isn't known for using false fold screams with Nightwish, but she did some with earlier bands she was in. Nice lyrics about telling Internet trolls to go do something better with their lives.

I love how you have built up slowly to Poet and GSOE. You are definitely primed and ready! For Greatest Show you will get divided opinions about whether to do Tampere or Wembley. My preference is Tampere but there isn't really a wrong choice. Each has elements that the other doesn't. You could do both! That would be an epic reaction! Your Nightwish reactions are among my favourites, we all had a smile like yours when we first heard these songs. Thanks from NW England (near where Troy comes from).

My favorite NW song. Not necessarily the greatest, or the most important. Just a personal favorite. Every note important, transitions smooth as butter, killer main riff, Floor all over the place. You can see Tuomas composing this one for her and thinking as he works, "what can I have her do next?".

The album versions has instrumental and orchestra versions which are also awesome.
You should do more NW- and Floor-Songs, even if you have done some of them for the first time. If it is clear that you know a song - no problem for most of us NW-fans (i think). There are Hellfest, Deichbrand from 2022, some with 4k-Quality. Thanks for your support. I saw some of your videos also on Floorworld-Page referenced.

Also her growling Duet with Soilwork is awesome and I love how she sneaks a little growl into Face Your Demons during her solo show in Amsterdam.

Looking at your reaction on this song and all the other NW reactions you did, I think you like the heavy most. To see the difference and the versatility of the singers in the I will recommend you the Dutch band Epica. The front woman of this band is Floors friend Simone Simons. Simone is an amazing singer to and they did a 2 duets on the Retrospect concert, Sancta Terra and Stabat Mater Dolorosa. Totally different but great to is Cosign to Oblivion and is more like this rendition. I think you will like this band to. Investigate the Dutch scene and you will be surprised.
Great reaction as always. If you want to prolong your NW journey, you should watch and react to Ghost Love Score Live at Tampere. I know you did the song in your first NW reaction, but Tampere version is In some parts even better than Wacken '13.
