With Moates going out of buisness I figure i'd offer some available tuning options for the Honda/Acura platforms as of 2022 mainly focusing on tuning options for the common D, B, H, K, J, F, A series and more. Mind you this isn't a complete list of available chipped or standalone ECU options but rather a common and cost effective option with on going support from the developers with hardware and software.

Hey since moates is gone, and no one can get ostrich, demon, hulog.. and only can get(if your lucky) other expensive emulators. I have been thinking it would be good to highlight that there are still budget options out there for tuning B/D/F/H. We have replacements for ostrich, hulog, burn2, etc that can get people tuning on a budget.. Yes they are a little more work but its good to learn, since 99% of people have no use for an emulator as they don't even know how to tune, or even touch it after its tuned so then its just an expensive unused piece of hardware when a chip could take that same place. Reach out if you would be interested in doing a video that could highlight this process and what we offer.. We are trying to help keep the budget/chip tuning for OBD1 alive like moates did for many years!
Some very good points, I'll get something together that mentions those highlights as well as your products. I'll contact you via email.
Thank you for your service. I watched videos to learn how to chip tune and no tuner is willing to tune the car that I've built sense I don't have hondata. I don't want to spend $650 making my ecu fancy lol
@matthewshelton1770 agreed, if someone doesn't want to fork out money for hondata. This is the way (chip, burner with built in datalogging! )
PFI does a bunch of Fuel Tech stuff but don't know if he was one where they build one up. For stand alone, the reason to go Haltech over Fueltech is Haltech is tuner friendly and it has self learning so you can actually get a car running yourself without taking it to a tuner.
Yeah i've seen them talk and mess around with it, I was just hoping there would be a step by step guide on getting it setup or even building a basic basemap like how Huntertuned does his videos just to get an idea on how the program is designed. I'm pretty sure the Fueltech can do the "autotuning" as well, most of the newer standalones are mostly all VE based tuned anyway.
Need an ob2 video
Thanks for review!
The wiring harness from boomslang is for FT550 or FT600. Not sure if it will work with FT450.
On the Fueltech website their universal harnesses are listed for 450/550. The 450 takes 1 A plug and the 550 has an A and B plugs. And they also sell just the B plug for the 550 only so i'm assuming if you were to upgrade from a 450 to 550 you would need to purchase the B harness to get the full capabilities of the 550. I would contact Boomslang and Fueltech to verify.
I have an s2000 and the best option i found for full standalone is Link G4X ecu plug and play and great price.. for 2000 to 2005 cars is the best option.. 06+ can use hondata.
Have you heard of speeduino ecu? If yes, what's your opinion on it?
I have heard of it, I have zero experience with it or the software, but it definitely seems like a decent budget ecu. I would say for a couple hundred more you can do better. Personally I would go with BoostedNW PnP Standalone (I have no experience with it or the software as well).
Would you consider making a quick video about the differences between the a20a1 and a3? I have a fully built a20a1 that I want to convert to an a3 efi, but I'm unsure what exact differences there are between the heads and blocks
I'll find some time to do that, I know it would tedious but you can find the info on differences from some of my previous videos.
I have chrome and want to upgrade on a budget. What you recommend? B20vtec 240hp all motor on race gas
HTS (Honda Tuning Suite) is way better than Crome and it's currently free. From there a company called BoostedNW just listed a budget standalone ECU for about $700. After that I'd recommend Haltec, Fueltech, or Hondata.
Which brand can I use for a P0H-L02 ecu it’s from 97 Honda accord manual but I can’t find no questions or solutions Ik it’s obd2 but I could just use a jumper harness idk if I could use s300 or can I ?
You are going to need a OBD1 ECU, can use a jumper harness for going obd2a to obd1.
I have just bought a 96" Accord, F22B1, 5 speed manual, as a daily driver yet peppy car (south América standards, faster than 90% of traffic when stock lol), it's OBD2, Is there any budget option to tune? Was looking into VAFC, but with the AFR gauge the cost goes up quite a bit
Cheap and reliable are two things that usually don't work well together. Especially being OBD2a it's going to cost and take a bit more than just VAFC and AFR gauge to get you tuning. Plus I don't know what your power goals are.
@@aziangarage power goals are probably 145-150 wheel, it's at about 135 with Bolt ons, CAI (3D printed icebox + gold wrapped tube), full exhaust system, 4-2-1 custom Made header, UEL, 2.5" Piping with a glasspack + rear direct flow resonator, no Cat
I was just wondering if there was any tuning options for OBD2A, it's my first old honda (tipically always owned newer cars, like a Civic R18 that uses flashpro)
@@aziangarage oh and realiability mods have been completed, engine has been given a good refresh with new seals, headgasket, Valve adjustent, cleaning, timing.
Got a new custom Made aluminum radiator (50% bigger than stock), got an oil cooler in there also.
The only thing I feel the car needs Is a good tune, my R18 really came alive with the tune, if I recall correctly gained about 15hp/13nm with it and a better powerband, while also gaining MPG.
Isn't hondata in the budget side too?
Yes it's its but he didn't mention it I belive is close yo the elite but it's older stuff I just buy one yesterday let's see how's go on my gs teggy🤙
It can be if you just get it without all the extra add ons. At the end of the day if you were to get it with all the add ons you going to be diving into standalone territory as far as price goes and you are still using a 30 year old ecu.
ruclips.net/video/Ydm7zwyb5b0/видео.html this is a great comparison video, mind you this can be compared to the Fueltech as far capabilities for the price as well.
@@AdinSLaboy if you don't mind how much did you pay & what version is it I feel like the prices been crazy high for hondata now
@@aziangarage facts 100% a few yrs ago okay but now the prices are higher I see s300 v3 sale for 800 now that's crazy for all that like you said standalone
Great video
Opinions on BMulator?
I don't have any experiance with it, BoostedNW seems to be the Moates replacement.
BM anything is STOLEN IP, do not support this trash, instead buy a SNAKE EMU v2 from a reputable place like boostednw
i have a 1998 Honda Prelude h22a4 5 speed manual I just wanna know what's A way I can tune it. its my first car and all I have are the basic bolt ons. I'm not looking to make boost just yet I just want to tune it to get the most out of it be able to go E85 and have a little more fun. this tuning stuff is a bit confusing to me. if you can point me in the right direction that would be amazing. can i just buy a ecu thats ready to go or how does it work from what im reading i need to go OBD 1.
hey man would you be willing to add me on discord and i can walk you through all your options!
@@ScrimbloTheSquidwhat is your discord?

Been thinking about going that route wish there was more videos on this unit thoe
