  • I decided to try to build a guitar and I didn't want to waste any money on real equipment or lumber. I used old pine boards I got for free from someone's garage for the body and a piece of maple I literally found in the trash for the neck.
In reality, I made a series of mistakes and band-aid solutions that ended up being a guitar shaped object capable of making music. I hope to try again and improve on this.

Thank you! My second acoustic turned out better but this one was a fun learning experience. Check out the video for my second one: ruclips.net/video/ovcgG-RuW18/видео.html

I made a similar bridge issue on my first uke. In fairness, adobe changed my scale on me when I printed it.

I think thats what happened to me too. Now, I don't trust the scale length of my templates. I measure the 12th fret and double it. Lesson learned!

I'm a poor man so I can't buy a guitar and make it as good as yours. Then the guitar seems like a dream 🥺🥺🥺

Great idea with table on top to clamp the wood down!

Looks awesome dude. Don’t sound half bad either. I’m looking into doing something similar. What kind of wood did you use for the soundboard?

Thanks! I'm not actually sure what this wood is. I got it free from craigslist. Its not a softwood so its not very typical of a soundboard. The back and sides of this one are pine which is also unusual. I just wanted to see if I could make it work before I spent any money on good lumber!
I made another acoustic last month and I found some reclaimed spruce for the top and reclaimed cherry for the back and sides. Here's the video for that one: ruclips.net/video/ovcgG-RuW18/видео.html
