I think there are a lot of people that don’t really comprehend what goes into making a Guitar by hand, and think they’re “overpriced” at times. They prob have an image of machines making them in a factory. This was super in depth, amazing work, and overall an enjoyable watch. That’s a gorgeous piece of work! You basically gave away your hearts work for a good cause!
Amazing... Absolutely top shelf work. Thank you very much for sharing this! $600 is a steal for this level of build. You've really done a public service.
This was a masterclass in how to be an efficient, precise, disciplined and innovative Luthier. What an Inspiring video! From across the pond, colour me impressed.
My jaw dropped when you mentioned the price you asked. Some students are getting the deal of a lifetime. These are quite possibly the best looking standard, non-premium acoustics I've seen in my life. Well done. Just... well done. If I lived in Deutschland I'd be seriously pestering you for guitar making tuition!
I absolutely love the use of repurposed lumber. The aged sound it produces when done with your craftsmanship is fantastic. Thank you for giving us a look into the artisan skill you have.
I’ve made a number of acoustic guitars, dreadnoughts, jumbo and a small bodied guitars from old pianos (some over 100 yrs old) which people are happy to give away. They have lots of spruce in the soundboards though in varying qualities of grain patterns. I have used the woods from the piano sides which are often birch or polar for guitar sides which are softwoods. Even though they sound very good I came to the realisation that hard woods are needed for strength of the soundbox plus the reflective properties of hardwoods like mahogany, rosewood etc. that contribute to their sonic properties. Making guitars is like making a cake, you use all the best ingredients but don’t know how it tastes until you hit the first chord. 😀
Gabriele it is a privilege to watch you work. Beautiful guitar and I appreciate your conservationist philosophy and interesting combination of old and modern methods.
You do extraordinarily beautiful work on those Guitars!! And to sell them for the price you did! Wow!! You know you could make allot of $$ building and selling “Hand built” guitars… I know if I was able to, I’d definitely buy one!
I enjoy your builds so much - I always feel that what you are showing is so understandable. This video with voice over was no exception, just full of why and how you do each step. The joy you bring to people through your builds, has to be greatly rewarding. Again thank you for sharing!!!
Thank you SO much for taking the trouble to add your commentary. I have worked with wood, in a cabinet-maker's shop, before; and I consider myself fortunate to have had that job AFTER 20 years as a Handyman/wood-butcher. So I was able to appreciate the beauty of the wood working. I'm glad to learn of your view on finishes, too - I agree that wood should be sealed but able to breathe somewhat. Now, I like an electric guitar to gleam like a show-car, but for acoustics, the sound is more important; and finishes can be touched up or renewed.
Absolutely amazing, I have been toying with the idea of building a acoustic for awhile now, but after watching you and the skill you posses I am moving forward ,I will watch this and your other videos over and over, thank you for the inspiration!
Wonderful, as usual. Thanks for adding your commentary - it really helps viewers to understand what you're doing and why. You're fast becoming very proficient at this RUclips game!
I dislike the sanding too. I'm getting better with card scrapers. Getting the correct burr isn't the easiest thing. But, I love it when I do ! Great video . Thank you
The voice over is great! I play around with guitar building for my own personal use. I use laminated spruce for my necks with carbon graphite rods for extra rigidity. Makes for an extremely light weight guitar! Please keep up your postings..
Hallo Gabriele, dein Artikel in der Holzwerken und deine Videos motivieren mich nun auch mal zum Bau einer Gitarre. Mir gefällt dabei vor allem die minimalistische Werkstatteinrichtung ☺️
I've always enjoyed watching your ASMR vidéos.... But making them with a voice over wow ! Loved it And you are just a great skillefull guitar maker... All the best from Algeria❤️
You absolutely did one hell of a job on this. It really turned out beautifully and sounds fantastic. I most definitely hit the like button and subscribe. Looking forward to watching more from you.
Thank you for this video - The guitar turned out beautifully and it sounds great. It was really interesting to hear your commentary on the build. It is wonderful to be able to see such craftsmanship.
Another beautiful guitar Gabi, Its quite unusual to have a Mahogany top on an acoustic guitar, however, it has a really nice warm tone, I also think its great to use reclaimed wood, apart from saving it from fire wood, I strongly believe old wood produces nicer tones, a bit like old guitars seem to mellow with age.
Wow, was für ein toller Klang! Ein Jumbokorpus halt. Danke, es war ein Vergnügen dieses Video zu schauen. Und, genial dass Sie altes, schon einmal gebrauchtes Holz verwendet haben.
Absolutely fantastic guitar and for €500 the New owner has a bargain. Well done for giving that wood a second purpose that has true meaning and passion rather than land fill or fire wood 👍
Totally fine to use ebony for a nut. No tone difference. I used African blackwood for nut and saddle last time with no discernable difference to bone that I could tell. I like the look better also.
Your mic most definitely isn't doing Justice To absolutely Your beautifully Made Guitar & Choice Woods, I'm Very Happy It Turned Out So Amazing, It's Subtle But That In My Opinion Has Ticked Every Box For Less Is Definitely More In This Perfect Example, And You Reclaimed The Wood Too, 10 out 10 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Thank For Sharing Your Passion It's Very Rewarding & Refreshing 😃👍🙏🌹
Thanks for your kind words. I think it's rathe the XY pattern, which I found not to like much for recroding guitars, but that's what I used for this video.
gabriele that was a realy nice job i enjoyed not only the video but your workmanship and your music thank you very much, and good luck with your fund raising.
An amazing build . I particularly like your work with hand tools. It already sounds good as to the age of the recycled woods. Well done, once again , Gabriele, and you sold them so cheaply. Also, I don't know what the voice 0vr means but your English is perfect. Thank you.
I am amazed Gabriele, at using several pieces for a top or even a Back. I have plenty of Mahogany but only 5 inch width, But it is 3 inches thick. I am glad to know this because I can not find Mahogany sound boards for a full size guitar. Thank You for your input. You have been so helpful.
Aah, the people I buy my guitar wood from have resonable prices and fair international shipping. You might check them out: edelholzhandel.com/Akustische-Gitarren
@@GabiM3112 Thank you so Much Ms. Gabriele. I certainly will . I am just starting to get ready to build my first acoustic. I started with the electric and Got interested in acoustics. Then after seeing your videos and John Hall of Blue Creek Guitar, It grabbed me. John has been helpful He has called me and chatted on my email. Look up John on Blue creek guitar. But it doesn't look as though you need any help. Ha. I just got through building my steam box like yours. I have to order my Generator this coming week. Haha
That’s beautiful! I want one. You make it look so easy that I could do it. I’m sure I would fail.but one day I will. Is encouraging seeing you do it with minimal tools. Thanks!
Thank you for such an informative video, your commentary is excellent. I am hoping to build an acoustic next year and watching this on 30 Dec 22 so you can guess what my New Years resolution will be. This is a wonderful guitar, I’m sure I’ve seen this featured in the Christmas calendar videos. Thank you so much. Cheers Dave
Hi, Dave. This one wasn't in the calendar because I built this for a student of mine and it's gone. But you've seen one of the same body of wood on 22 December (the one in that video was the original so to speak after which I built the other one in this video). Good luck with your build.
Watching from phillipines,Very beautiful work,i hope someday i can have 1 of youre master piece.can't afford to have a very good sound guitar like the one you make
I love watching you build guitars. I want to thank you for adding voice overs to your videos. Much more informative than watching you work in silence.
This is what RUclips was meant to be in the beginning. To shown craft skills that actually make things.
YES! I love that.
I remember those days.

The headstock overlay "sandwich" is genius. Decorative, beautiful instrument with a wonderful warm tone. Bravo!

Watching you work without commentary is very meditative, but your commentary adds another dimension to your video. I like both.
That is an absolutely lovely guitar! And it shows that you don’t have to use fancy woods to build a great instrument, very inspiring. Thank you
Thank you SO much for taking the trouble to add your commentary. Love the video with the added voiceover. Very interesting.
Beautiful work. Also very interesting seeing your unique approach to certain aspects of building the instrument
Gabriele Réti You are so gifted. Thank you for all your hard work in bringing to us your Art. This in my opinion is Art . Not just an awesome Craft.
Always nice to watch a build....and the whistling whilst you work. I really dig the bridge clamp. Simple, smart, elegant solution. ✌️
Wow ! Thanks for taking the time to make this video . I found it very therapeutic .
WOW!! So very impressive.
Very beautiful and sounding guitar love it
Gorgeous! Can't believe that beautiful mahogany was used as wall material and was destined for the trash!
Wonderful work, pretty interesting video and I love the fact that you sing while working
😄
Thank you for another excellent display of your talent.

Wow…enjoyed the build. Beautiful guitar that you played very nicely!
That guitar sounds really bright! Nice sound. You did a great job on this project. Can't wait to see your next project.

Sounds amazing!! Great work!!
Fantastic skill as always Gabriele. Thank you
same tonal qualities as high end guitars excellent work thanks for posting you should get big money for that easy
Well, in the video you hear for much I gave it away. It was supposed to be affordable for students.
Wow does that sound good! 500 Euros is a gift to the students. A labor of love, for sure.
Totally fine to use ebony for a nut. No tone difference. I used African blackwood for nut and saddle last time with no discernable difference to bone that I could tell. I like the look better also.
Thats the vest sounding acoustic I've heard in a long long time thank you for sharing with us
