I could not get the driver side of the dash to come back, but I propped the passenger side back. Changed the evaporator core as it laid on the floor. Thank you!
You should’ve left the hole thing together... the steering shaft steering shaft has 1 bolt and it comes off and the rest of the dash only has 9 the 3 up top, the 2 on the right side the 3 on the left side and the support bracket under the center, I only had 7 connectors on mine and was able to take the entire thing out without touching anything else
Thanks for the great video of the process in the process of getting the dash out now and could not get the driver side out. But after watching this I now know about the bolt on the side through the body.
You made a good video showing the basics. Took way more off than you needed to, missed a couple nuts and bolts (mines an 11 with a bench front so that may have been the cause of some differences) all in all your video helped but I was wrapped up in 5 and I replaced all the hoses along with turbo oil and coolant supply. Fingers crossed there were no other videos out there when you made this cause it shouldn’t have taken you that long to do the tear down.
ChrisCadence Sorry man that's not going to work you're going to catch hell trying to get the lid off the top of the evaporator. That sensor stuck into the evaporator about an inch and a half down and there's no room to just pull it out through there cuz it's too close tolerance. You're better off just drilling a hole in front of or behind the evaporator and then running it through that hole in ceiling it up.
ChrisCadence There's not going to be a whole lot of temperature difference with it in the coil are right in front of the coil. You're only looking at a 5 degree difference.
Titus F I did this today. It’s for work so I wanted to do it the right way. I forgot about the bolt on the driver side coming thru the side behind the plug. Great video
Do you think it’s possible to create a access door to blow this out it keeps happening I work in a dusty environment I want to see if I can figure something out
Great video. I can't find anything on my 2006 F350, but I think this is close enough. I just wanted a general idea of what I was getting into. I know its gonna suck, I just wanted to know how much. Thanks
I believe the 06 had the evaporator on the passenger side fire wall under the hood. Much easier that pulling the dash. The box under the hood 1/2 of it unbolts from the other half and the firewall. When it comes out there is your evaporator. Also no expansion valve because it uses an orifice expansion tube. Another plus is no evaporator temp sensor.
man good looking out were in a shop on oahu hawaii and eh figured should be like a f150.....wahwah diesel makes everything harder. the 6.7 just hugs that firewall baby
Any chance you get this can you tell me if you have screws/bolts going into the expansion valve from the cabin side? Or is it just the one nut from the firewall/engine bay side?
Way to much work bro, should've used all data. I took mine completely out, dash with steering wheel, and then the air box, changed blower, evaporator and heater core and reinstalled in 8 hours. I'm not a mechanic by trade anymore but all data cant be beat. It gave step by step instructions. Had my dash out and laying on a table in my garage in 40 minutes. No need to remove instrument panel, air bag or steering wheel from dash.
Im in the process of doing this and I have all the bolts you removed this is an xl model so no center console but i cant get the dash to roll back any tips
What a good friend! My name is David I am from Venezuela, I am trying to change the evaporator of my for F350 super duty XL. There is something in the center of the board that does not let me finish it, remove the screws from the sides and the whole part in front, if you have an email so we can communicate and help me please
Dayum........titus........ima post a video of the complete, quick, dash removal. Also........did you know that someone has made a filter for these trucks????? Alleviating the $1,500 plus repairs?????!!!!!!
Hey I’m back I sold that 6.7 I now have another 6.7 and guess what? The evaporator is leaking as well 😂 Guess I’ll have to go through with it this time.
I pull these dashes all the time, the steering column does not need to be dropped whatsoever. Pull your one 10mm bolt connecting the column to the shaft going through the body, tie the steering wheel to the dash to prevent damage to the clock spring, and disconnect the lower shaft. Steering column stays right where it is and travels with the dashboard.
You took off way too many things. You literally have to take off 20 bolts total remove dash(28 if it has a console). HVAC case is 4 nuts and 2 bolts. Shouldn't take more than 3hrs to do evaporator and heater core.
ruclips.net/video/lT8r4ZGMZWs/видео.html Here ya go. And........I'm selling cabin air filters for these dang trucks so noone has to pull these damn dashes any more!!
Anyone else sick of Ford? First I have to deal with this crap, now I’ve been cursed with the infamous “death wobble”. Oh yeah, and the good ole CP4 injection pump failure. I absolutely hate Ford. Spend $45,000 on a brand new truck, and it’s junk. Every time they build something new, it’s like they start from scratch and design something that is plagued with a bunch of problems. Take it in for work under warranty, and it’s a huge battle cause they don’t want to pay for anything. What good is the warranty? Maybe all the class action lawsuits against Ford will bankrupt them. Good thing I kept some old Fords it the fleet. They’re what keep me going when the new crap is broke down.

Great video, was a huge help getting everything apart. Now...to get it all back together....
That was one of the hardest things I've ever done.
where are all the plugs my works if i jump the plug where the egr was i can not find where it goes now?
Bout to dig into one of these today. I appreciate the video.

Who care @nathanskalicky shut the fuk up
Always got something to say can’t keep your goddamn mouth shut let me get my goddamn hands on you boy
Good video, just think. You were breathing the air that went through that EVAP core.
Did you replace the evaporator cause cleaning it didn’t do the trick or did it go bad?
It was cracked and leaking.
If I took the glove box out and the passenger airbag out do you think I could replace the Evap temp sensor without pulling the dash ?
ChrisCadence

The expansion valve you remove from behind the front passenger tire with Allen key.
After you unhook the lines to it then your reach way up in there and take it out with a Allen key socket it's the easiest way.
What was the truck doing that?Made you realize that it was the evaporator

How much is all data?
Caleb, send me an email address
Just did mine 2013 250
276,000 and heater core to while I had the dash out
Do I have to do this replacing the resister? To get to it
Why not pull dash as one assembly?
I'm not to sure you can do this I'll let you know I have to do I'm again as the one in there is cracked again.
Thanks for the video! Was this truck leaking back onto the passenger side floor?
No it just was loosing freeon.
Damn you took off a lot of unnecessary stuff to remove the dash.
I have to admit I would have done the same thing if I had not have researched. 😅

Did you drop the steering wheel and remove the bolt behind the drive door ?
@@curtisf2814 yes both steering column bolts and the in the door jam
It feels like it is still connected somewhere. Its a 2015 idk if its any different than yours I have out all the bolts you said and still nothing
there are a couple of wiring plugs on the right side you need to unplug.

Dash come out in 1 piece in under 45 minutes 11 bolt hold dash plus shifter cable 1 bolt for steering wheel hood release and park brake release.
Hey I’m back I sold that 6.7 I now have another 6.7 and guess what? The evaporator is leaking as well 😂 Guess I’ll have to go through with it this time.
5 plugs, 3 bolts and the steering column pulls right out. Everything is modular. Plug and play. Easy Peasy

How many hours is this job? Dealer is charging me 9.2 hours?!?!
Yeah it took me about 12 hours but I'd never done it before
Thank you for this.
Remember, the engineers easily could have made a hatch to access the evaporator.
Cool 😎
It takes 10 minutes guys to pull the dash look up how to pull a 6.4 ford dash in 10 minutes
I’m gunna cry cuz I gotta do this 😂
....kinda removed more than need to budd.... but thanks for the video man
Guess I’m selling my truck 😱

All because they cant spend a few bucks for a cab air filter lol. Well here we go lol

inferior parts?.. fords suck I know I own one.
