    Dude, you are the man. I watched every evap replacement video on here and yours is by far the best. I am a 59 year "old" former professional auto tech and you laid out everything needed to get that HVAC case out in a way that's easy to understand. After you pointed out all the case attachment points on both sides of the firewall it was just a matter of getting them out. I had the evaporator out of the case in a few leisurely hours using hand tools. I also removed the battery and air cleaner boxes for easier access. Hardest part was getting the top center case nut off behind the engine. Dreading putting that back on. Shift cable is definitely easier to disconnect from the top like you did, all other videos showed it removed from the bottom, or not at all. Anyone considering doing this job should plan on removing it to completely get the dash out of your way as it only take a few more minutes. Cable and stay pop right off from the top. Thank you for the great info!

    Had to have my 2011 F350's replaced at the dealer in 2016. Unfortunately, the a/c has been blowing 'warm air' on and off for the last 3 weeks. But when it's cold, it's real cold! Going to the shop next week to find the issue. GREAT Video!!

    I think most evap jobs are labor intensive. People have no idea what's involved. I used to replace a lot in Dodge Caravans and I got pretty good at it. The job didn't pay that well so you had to hustle. Some cars are unbelievably filthy as well. Almost makes you puke when you find one with dirty diapers under the seat but i don't have to worry about jobs like those anymore. I'm retired after 50 years in the trade. Well done A Rod.

    I have replaced bunches of Dodge PU Evaps . Started seeing the 2010 up version leaking now. I do Evaps on other brands too. The best performing heat exchangers seem to be the ones more likely to crack or corrode. On makes using thermal probes stuck into evaporators I see leaks regularly where sensor was inserted. I have not done one on 11 or later SD but on 150s and the one gen earlier SD I do not set dash out. I also don’t disconnect column. I remove all bolts, protect seats and use a ratcheting tie down to shoulder belt anchor and hold dash back and a little up and remove case.

      YUCK!!! Dog or cat hair grosses me out. Doesn't help that I'm allergic to animals either. I absolutely HATE working on vehicles that people keep in an absolute disgusting pig sty. And with how bad I've seen the interiors of some vehicles are kept, that statement is arguably unfair to pigs!!!

    • @akbychoice
      @akbychoice 4 года назад +1

      The body oils on the dog hair makes it mat up. A coworker drove my peterbilt one summer while I was in another. He had his dog in the truck with him. That dog hair plugged up the fins and made the truck stink after that. Had to take it apart just to get the A/C and the heat to work.

    I have a 2015 Ford F550 6.7 that has had an A/C problem. I've experienced this problem 2 times. It's dual climate. When you increase the temp to heater and use the floor or defrost vent and lower the temperature and turn the A/C on, it blows warm air. The A/C pressure if fine no leaks. The last time this happened I was able hit the button to put the air to the front vents(face) then quickly turn the truck off, while the motor was actuating. No problems until another Coworker used the truck during the winter time and now it only blows warm air.
    It would be hard to diagnose without physically looking at it, but was curious if you might have an ideal what could cause this. I know it would be one of the vent actuators but would it be blend door? If so could I manually move it with a endoscope or something like that?

      @@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod No worries my friend. All then vents work fine but it blows warm air. The only thing I can think of is a blend door is letting letting hot air mix with the A/C or the vent is stuck.

    • @PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod
      @PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod  5 лет назад +1

      CP4 bypass kit, never heard of it. Do not really mess with that aftermarket stuff.

    • @KendrasEdge757
      @KendrasEdge757 5 лет назад

      PowerStroke Tech Talk w/ARod It’s basically, from what I gather, a manifold and line that bypasses the CP4 fuel pump so that when the CP4 pump fails it sends all the metal shards back to the fuel tank so that your entire fuel system doesn’t get destroyed by the metal particles of the destroyed CP4 pump. Then you only have to replace the CP4 and the lines back to your tank as opposed to fuel rails, injectors, lines, filters, etc.
      My main question for you I guess is really directed to the CP4 and are they really failing like the companies selling the bypass kits are claiming?? They SAY it’s not ‘if’ but ‘when’ the CP4 pump is going to fail. Being that you do A LOT of work on 6.7’s, do you see a lot of them coming in with failed CP4’s??
