Welcome to Dell Tech Support. Sometimes your system refuses to boot into Windows after starting up. In this video we will go through some basic troubleshooting to determine why your PC is not booting and help to resolve this issue. First we need to verify if you are experiencing what is called a ‘No Boot issue’ and not another type of failure. Check if the computer completes the POST which is the initial power up: it is the Power-On Self-Test. If the computer advances past the Dell logo splash screen, but then hangs when attempting to load the operating system, then it is most likely a No Boot issue. If this is the case, it is best to run a hardware diagnostic. Watch our tutorial on running the ePSA test which you can access at the end of this video (Diagnose Hardware Issues on your Dell Computer • Video ). If all the diagnostic tests pass, reboot your system and take note of any specific error messages. If there are some, contact us and we will help you with a resolution. You can also check to see if the peripherals are causing interference. With your PC off, unplug all external devices, such as USB drives, printers, cameras and phones. For desktop computers, it is okay to keep the monitor, keyboard and mouse connected to the system. You should also remove any external media like DVDs and CDs and memory cards. Restart your PC to see if it is able to boot. If it can you are good, but you should check which peripheral is the culprit. Test each separately by restarting the system with only one connected at a time. Another thing to try is to reset the BIOS back to default values. Restart the computer and repeatedly press the F2 key at the Dell logo until you enter the system setup. Look for an option reset to default settings. Then save and exit. If your system is still unable to boot into Windows, you can reset your PC or restore it to factory settings. Thanks man. I was very scared when I saw that screen because I have successfully reinstalled my Windows 10 several times before but it was the first time that screen came up. I thought I did permanent damage to my laptop and was really scared for a minute there👍
thx it helps me, works in my dell. The BIOS settings have a diferent presentation, but options are the same. And its not with f8 its f2 or f10

after having done this process, my notebook has a gray screen and dps turns on and DELL appears. Right after you go to the part of the bios and ask to click the button, and dps appears: Hard drive Not installed :(

Hello. I tried doing what you showed, but in my laptop I don't have the LEGACY BOOT mode. It shows only UEFI as option.

It only gives me the option of uefi boot mode not legacy boot mode
From a power off state, power on the system and Press F2 boot into BIOS setup menu.Choice "Boot sequence" and change the option from "Legacy" to "UEFI" then press "Apply" on the right-down corner.
Choice "Advance Boot options" and disable"Enable Legacy Operation ROMs" then press "Apply" on the right-down corner.
Choice "Secure Boot" -> "Secure Boot Enable" and change the option from "Disabled to Enabled", then press "Apply" on the right-down corner.
Press "Exit" on the right-down corner and wait the system reboot.
Still not working

This occurred with my laptop but It was shutting off by itself and not letting me do anything. So I left it for a while and when I turned it on it was working again.
