Your "back to basics" approach to cooking completely jives with my sentiments. I cooked from scratch too, while raising our 7 kids. Although I did not use sourdough. It wasn't a "thing" yet, back in the 80's & 90's. So I'm nearly 70yrs old, my heart is wearing out, but my desires and focus still center around using God's perfect plants, animals and all the yummy goodness of His creations. Moms who doesnt have this much time to coom for their kids are also good moms, too. The more domesticated doesn't make you a better mom automatically. We only see glimpse of her life. Yiu know how many youtube parents look perfect and abuse their kids, and comments like yours hurt mothers who can't do all this. I am a stay at home mom and feel lucky but most my friends works and some dont even know how to cook, they all great moms as long as long they are genuinely loving and providing for their kids

I've been wearing our 2 month old as much as i need to as to be able to get things done and not have her cry. Wearing her is a blessing! It's made cooking, doing laundry, grocery shopping, going out to eat, etc so much more motivating. They need that close contact for the first year more than we realize.

@@cindypomerleau950 I do it for all my beans and brown rice too. You just have to make sure that they don't sit in water or get too dry. I rinse them in water twice a day after soaking them overnight initially. It takes between two and five days to sprout depending on the weather and the type of bean. If you let them grow for too long the texture can get weird.
Hannah! If you see this, black beans are the hardest on gut. Try Adzuki, they don’t create the same level of issues. Every food has a different medicinal property and adzuki are wonderful, soak. I’ve never sprouted but they are so amazing even just with garlic sautéed on them alone. Great taste and no stomach issues x

I recently heard that in Mexico they don't even soak beans in the water overnight and that amazed me!! We in Turkey always soak them before cooking, preferably in a pressure cooker to make it easier to digest.

Black beans used to have me doubled over in bed. I found out later the were setting off a gallbladder problem. I also found out that if you add a little milk to your beans it makes them a lot easier to digest with less gas.

We have NEVER had trouble digesting black beans. They cook quickly and are much softer than most beans.
I would have planted the beans. Not ate them. Thinking they would be sour are something.
Does that go for all beans? I wonder.

Black beans used to have me doubled over in bed. I found out later the were setting off a gallbladder problem. I also found out that if you add a little milk to your beans it makes them a lot easier to digest with less gas.
